BRICS member China is taking full advantage of the US sanctions on Russia by pushing the Chinese yuan for trade settlements. The US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen openly admitted that the sanctions are only helping local currencies and hurting the dollar. She revealed that it was the sanctions that led the BRICS alliance to consider de-dollarization and use local currencies for cross-border transactions.
Russia fully began accepting the Chinese yuan for payments after the US pressed sanctions on its economy in February 2022. Several other developing countries, including its BRICS counterparts India and Brazil, settled trade in the Chinese yuan for crude oil. India even saved $7 billion in currency exchanges by using the Chinese yuan and not the US dollar to procure oil at discounted prices.
The Chinese Yuan accounted for 42% of all the international transactions initiated in Russia between 2023 to 2024. The US dollar accounted for 39.5% of all cross-border settlements made by BRICS member Russia during the same period. The US dollar has decreased by 2.5% making the Chinese Yuan the most used currency in Russia in 2023-24.
Both the BRICS members China and Russia are spearheading the de-dollarization agenda around the world. Developing countries find the prospects lucrative as the initiative strengthens local currencies giving a boost to their native economies.

Replacing currency with another everyone know is not effective, besides we all know that if the USD held its grounds for 100 plus years, the next currency won’t last half this life. China will export its people to manage their freely offered advanced technologies to this fragmented world and won’t resort to currencies. The Chinese will manage every bits and pieces of the very life of everyone of us.
There is no such thing as a BRICS currency. It does not exist.

Economies rely on trade to grow, therefore if there are restrictions on the availability of US Dollars as settlement currency naturally, countries will switch to a system that allows trade unhindered by those restrictions and the US Dollar will as a result, drop in value. The unfortunate thing for the United States is that their own stupidity, using US Dollar sanctions as a weapon has backfired on America its almost like their so called think tanks, were not thinking at all. China's strong economy with the gold-backed Chinese Yuan is the only currency compatible with and with which to replace the US dollar globally. Central banks worldwide have shifted to the Chinese Yuan as their reserve. It is expected to surpass the US dollar by 4% soon.

I don't think China would like to have the Yuan to be the world's major currency. But with the rapid increase in yuan-dominated trades internationally, this is becoming difficult that this trend is not headed in that direction
I would suggest that this new interbank payment system establish a basket of currencies of the member countries along with a certain amount of gold and silver held in reserves and then attach the trading activity with electronic ledger. They probably already have something like this!!!

The 2.5% relates only to Russian transactions. The channel does not say this until the 2:30 mark. Until then, the narrator makes it seem like it is worldwide. The reason for the usage of the Yuan is because China is the only buyer of Russian oil now (due to sanctions) and the buyer mandates that the transaction be done in Yuan.
Dependancy on US currency world wide is what keeps it from failing. Once sanctions mean nothing the US will have to rely on its own strength, much like China - difference being, sky high inflation will not allow home based manufacturing to recover. US is soon to be no more as the world reserved currency or financial super power. Likely weeks to months for this to unfold.
And this is what triggers WW3 BRICS
