He did a rendition of the last supper and it went completely over our heads!
We are talking about Bang Yongguk. It's better y'all don't jump in this kinda of conclusion, until he tell us something about the mv. Because we can think one thing, when actually was something completely different. There's a theory on twitter that makes more sense than this(it's about Yakuza). Okay, everyone is talking about the music and that's cool, but isn't anybody gonna say a thing about the video itself? I'm studying cinematography, and I can really appreciate all the effort that was putted into this video. I freaking loved the photography, the edition, the color palette, the costume. It's an amazing work, by far one of the bests I've seen in k-pop.
I feel you. It is distrubing to me (I'm a coward honestly) but still so amazing. The part with the chicken and how those almost illustration-like masks keep appearing on his face and that red and black filter... 6/5 this is art and I will fight anyone who dares to disagree :D
Binge-listening to this song again and meanwhile this theory kinda came up in my head: What if this whole 'Yamazaki' thing is actually a metaphor? Yongguk refers to himself as Yamazaki ("I'm Yamazaki, my swag is alive, arigatou''), so he must be the personification of the alcohol. But not only that, in several shots there's this mask flashing on him and after researching a bit I found out it's a japanese demon mask, so Yongguk would represent both the alcohol but also a demon. It makes lots of sense: At the beginning when Yongguk enters the house, he drinks with the men and they're all having a blast, with him saying things like "take a shot" and "cheers", definitely encouraging them to drink more. But only after the bridge part, which I assume is when the alcohol consume reaches its limit, the video begins to turn blood red and the colors become weirdly distorted etc. and we see Yongguk leaving the house. After that we see ninjas sneaking in (who are probably gonna kill the men) and Yongguk covered in blood. The lyrics and the way he raps in this part reflect this especially: He's saying "to the soul that has become dark red because of the devils that have stuck on" & "don't all fool around with the devil'', yet he doesn't stop from encouraging them to keep drinking. His deep af voice makes all of this sound even more devilish. I think this pretty much reveals that he's the evil demon that will possess them in the end. And of course with "devil", he is referring to himself; aka Yamazaki. So basically he's trying to give moral and say that if you aren't careful enough with your drinking and ''fool around" too much, you will end up in bad situations that you can't get out of anymore and will be punished, and he does so by playing the alcohol's character. This is just an interpretation though, so the song could have a completely different meaning altogether, after all, Yongguk's lyrics are often very metaphorical and have deeper layer of meaning ^^ but I like to think he had the intention to comment about alcohol/drinking culture in some way. ...*breathes in* wOAH this actually turned into a whole analysis lol. Anyways guys pls tell me what you think of this interpretation :D

But after watching the video it comes all together, like saying yes keep enjoying your fun. Continue on drinking and cheering but be careful there is a limit. Like yes continue your fun and games but watch out because I am a step ahead of you. The demon mask I feel like resembles this anger and this power he will unleash. Like you have gone past your limit and now you have signed your soul to the devil or demon. It''s a matter of taste. I like Suga in BTS as a whole, but as August D he sounds like any other rap artist out there. BYG has a very distinctive voice, has his own style, has actual meaning in his lyrics aside from talking about what a great rapper he is (unlike August D who goes on about how he spits fast rap....which is still nowhere as fast as Zelo..., etc) and this production quality was above and beyond his videos. Maybe this is too highbrow for you with all the symbolism and it went over your head? If you want fluff, you're definitely not going to like anything BYG puts out. Cheers yo.

We are talking about Bang Yongguk. It's better y'all don't jump in this kinda of conclusion, until he tell us something about the mv. Because we can think one thing, when actually was something completely different. There's a theory on twitter that makes more sense than this(it's about Yakuza). He used alot of simbolisms and things that just him can explain.
And just because he wrote Pray, this doesn't mean that he can't make this type of concepts. It's just an MV.
Why people who didn't liked the Teaser, are here? Yongguk gave a warning THREE times, telling people how the MV would be. And... they're here. WHY? Just to drag him?! Yongguk's rap style is not basic. He has a much more serious and deep style, and people know that! He always puts strong symbolisms that people don't understand the first few times they watch the MV. This is his way of expressing himself, that's his art. And if you don't understand and you don't like it... WHY YOU WATCHED?! Leave him alone! The MV don't have nothing special. The women's were wearing traditional clothes, and don't have extreme violence. In Skydive MV people took head shots, finger of a person cut was showed, blood... was the real extreme violence. And I didn't see anyone complaining with Yongguk. So why are you doing this now?! Because the MV was made in Japan(supposed to look like Japan)? because there were women who showed their legs (not a big deal. YES, I know it's different when a woman use this for her on MV and when appear her legs on a man MV. but.. COME ON!! This is not a big deal. there are MV where women's are using worse clothes. so stop with this bullshit)? or was because of the scene that it was to look like they cut the neck of a chicken(where do you think the chicken you eat comes from?)?! Okay, everyone is talking about the music and that's cool, but isn't anybody gonna say a thing about the video itself? I'm studying cinematography, and I can really appreciate all the effort that was putted into this video. I freaking loved the photography, the edition, the color palette, the costume. It's an amazing work, by far one of the bests I've seen in k-pop.
I feel you. It is distrubing to me (I'm a coward honestly) but still so amazing. The part with the chicken and how those almost illustration-like masks keep appearing on his face and that red and black filter... 6/5 this is art and I will fight anyone who dares to disagree :D

Binge-listening to this song again and meanwhile this theory kinda came up in my head: What if this whole 'Yamazaki' thing is actually a metaphor?
Yongguk refers to himself as Yamazaki ("I'm Yamazaki, my swag is alive, arigatou''), so he must be the personification of the alcohol.
But not only that, in several shots there's this mask flashing on him and after researching a bit I found out it's a japanese demon mask, so Yongguk would represent both the alcohol but also a demon.
It makes lots of sense: At the beginning when Yongguk enters the house, he drinks with the men and they're all having a blast, with him saying things like "take a shot" and "cheers", definitely encouraging them to drink more. But only after the bridge part, which I assume is when the alcohol consume reaches its limit, the video begins to turn blood red and the colors become weirdly distorted etc. and we see Yongguk leaving the house. After that we see ninjas sneaking in (who are probably gonna kill the men) and Yongguk covered in blood. The lyrics and the way he raps in this part reflect this especially: He's saying "to the soul that has become dark red because of the devils that have stuck on" & "don't all fool around with the devil'', yet he doesn't stop from encouraging them to keep drinking. His deep af voice makes all of this sound even more devilish. I think this pretty much reveals that he's the evil demon that will possess them in the end. And of course with "devil", he is referring to himself; aka Yamazaki.
So basically he's trying to give moral and say that if you aren't careful enough with your drinking and ''fool around" too much, you will end up in bad situations that you can't get out of anymore and will be punished, and he does so by playing the alcohol's character. This is just an interpretation though, so the song could have a completely different meaning altogether, after all, Yongguk's lyrics are often very metaphorical and have deeper layer of meaning ^^ but I like to think he had the intention to comment about alcohol/drinking culture in some way.

But after watching the video it comes all together, like saying yes keep enjoying your fun. Continue on drinking and cheering but be careful there is a limit. Like yes continue your fun and games but watch out because I am a step ahead of you. The demon mask I feel like resembles this anger and this power he will unleash. Like you have gone past your limit and now you have signed your soul to the devil or demon. It''s a matter of taste. I like Suga in BTS as a whole, but as August D he sounds like any other rap artist out there. BYG has a very distinctive voice, has his own style, has actual meaning in his lyrics aside from talking about what a great rapper he is (unlike August D who goes on about how he spits fast rap....which is still nowhere as fast as Zelo..., etc) and this production quality was above and beyond his videos.
