  • Without doubt this is the biggest batch of boards I've made at any one time. The biggest issue, as you'll see is where to put everything as you're going through the process of making. So if you're planing you need two piles, one for before and one for after, so that's already twice the room you needed before, (if you follow) and so one.

Does Mrs. GT Woodshop know you have extra helpers in the shop? I bet she’ll want extra help with yard work and household chores. I can see your stash of Kentucky bourbon disappearing three times faster now (yes, I saw your third helper by the laser).

I watch a few of these type of vids US based. But I have seen others UK based that say that the returns are not that great at shows in this country. You obviously don't have that problem and the shows you go to must give a good return for you.

Hi Graham, I find matching the price point of the product to the Customer type and expectations the hardest but most financialy rewarding.

A few thoughts for future batches: (1) adding a hole in the handle (I realize an additional step) allows the purchasers to hang their board up, but also allows you to hang them on a horizontal dowel when finishing and when in progress; (2) the length of the parallel clamps you were using would allow you to glue up two boards at a time - just put a was paper wrapped spacer between the two sets; and (3) stop coddling your worker and get him to step it up.
Quick question: Approximately how much do you think each type will fetch at sale?
Anyhow, very enjoyable, stay safe, try to stay cool (getting hot here in California) and keep on smiling.

Hi Howard, I did think about a hole in the handle, then promptly forgot. Do people still hang boards? I'm thinking about £25.00 for the cutting and ;rge serving boards, slightly less for the smaller ones.

    Another great video.
I can see the difficulty in doing a batch like this when you don’t have the space. I wouldn’t either. But man it must be satisfying to see all those boards done. How long did it take you to do this batch?

If it is bigger than a twig - keep it. Just buy more lottery tickets, or look for a more generous sugar momma to build you a giant storage building. About the size of a football field should be big enough.
