I’ve came here on Saturday 18th and it was great to see 9466 meeting it’s famous rival 4953 the loco which 14 years ago was part of the vintage trains fleet
@@davidcattell7311 problem with 4953 was that the fire grate bars expanded making it a very bad steamer. I was riding that day and wasn’t very happy, but got front window with 34027 with a Bournemouth Belle headboard! Shame too as 4953 had the Cornish riviera headboard on!
I love the Severn Valley Railway I have been going since the age of 2 years old and then I was unable to due COVID and now I do Try and pop down Now and Then and also I could be Volunteering at the Severn Valley Railway Next year

I was 6 or 7 years old when I first visited the SVR. 6960 RAVENINGHAM HALL and small prairie tank 4566 were in steam at Bridgnorth, but what really impressed me was the newly restored 70000 BRITANNIA standing alongside the then recently built loco' shed. She looked absolutely massive to me back then. I still miss being able to wander around the shed at Bridgnorth as you could in those days, seeing the progress on the overhauls and ex-Barry restorations each time I visited. Good luck with the volunteering. Might see you on a train soon!

Compared with me Lewis my first seven valley railway visit I remember was the diesel gala event of 2002 I was almost 5 years old back then and I’ve continued to come here to see the visiting steam and diesel locos ever since
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 the first time I went I remember seeing a Tank engine painted to look like Thomas the Tank engine at Bewdley and also at Bewdley was a DMU
The best record of the event I've seen. It's quite magnificent.
More importantly 4953 is the only one making all of the noise

The main post had rotted beyond repair. It is being replaced with a new post very soon and I'm told you'll not be able to tell the difference...
