Sad to say I did the same thing but didn’t work out too good. First outside dimension of the neck on the Grendel is .290 7.62x 39 cases come out .292 to .295 with bullet seated so they won’t chamber in most guns with a good chamber. The necks need to be turned before loading. Just thought I would mention this. Good luck stay safe. 5:38 ‘ 5:385:38
I've never had a issue, I've run these reformed brass in 3 ARs (various makes) & 4 types of bolt guns (CZ, TIKKA, RUGER). Thanks though I'll check it out.
@@PlayingWithFireOutdoors I’m not sure how that would work but measuring the thickness of the neck with a tubing micrometer and turning the necks to appropriate thickness should.
This is not my video, but this is what I mean. I had an issue when I took .308 Win brass to make 300 SAVAGE cases. What type of brass were you using/trying? ua-cam.com/video/gY0OwZN9ihQ/v-deo.html&pp=ygURcmNicyBuZWNrIHRyaW1tZXI%3D
Grendel brass is getting hard to find here in the US. I dont know why ? As its a super popular round. Im building an AK tabuk style with a 22 inch barrel in 6.5 grendel. The ammo is ridiculous and expensive
@luciankristov6436 I agree, but I think I've purchased like 3 20 round boxes since I started shooting this caliber. All the rest I've made from 7.63 brass., but even that is hard to find now.
Man im doing this right now. Have you had any issues with cases splitting after the first fire? Im wondering if I should anneal? Sorry about the flood man. Im in fort mac and I got flooded out in 2020.
If you have the ability I'd anneal and it would make fire forming easier on the case. As you see I've done thousands, and haven't had many split. Maybe a handful. Yes I anneal mine
I've past that # of reloads, on my original resized brass. Annealing is the way to maximize your numbers for reloading. But after firing , I inspect to ensure theres no issues. Sorry for the lack of Grendel videos, my range is now 650m/710yds so I've been using my CG63 6.5X55Swede lately.
I did it and powder charges must be reduced due to the large rifle primer in the 7.62x39 case . Not a fan of the conversion . 6mm ARC cases convert better and have the required small rifle primer .
I did it also because for awhile Grendel cases were hard to find . I had toreduce powder charges by 2 grain for the LRP . Yes 500 yards for tge Grendel is no problem. Love the 6.5 Grendel .
Definitely need to do a proper workup, any time you change a portion like that. I found 10 lb of 8208D, a few years ago. After doing ladder tests in Grendel, I found I prefered 8208 XBR. I did find a use for the powder in .223 Rem, then sat down in front of my Dillon 1050 for a bit and ran enough brass to use it all. Have a great day!

@@PlayingWithFireOutdoors I guess I’ve got a tight chamber in mine
Can't say, but I will see if doing that will help. Just ordered a 6.5 pilot for my case neck sizer

S&b brass after 4 reloads

I find it comical that 762x39 is 50 cents each, and Grendal is $1.50 each. In my opinion, that is the only way to go.
It's worse here in Canada here!
Yes I agree, I'm down to my last 6k LRP
Great video
Thank you ,

I hear you, I do have a supply of proper Grendel brass. Even with the slight change, I still manage my plinking @ 500m.
