@antonio106 While the Minibosses didn't intentionally lift from SMB1, the music used in the title screen of SMB2 was lifted from SMB1. I think that was what you were trying to get at. Nintendo was surprisingly good at recycling its tunes back in the day.
@th3planetsghost I was pretty sad to figure out this was a sprite rip, and sad that it was Nintendo to do so. And, I didn't say it was the best NES game. I rank Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 over it any day. But, I said that it was ONE of the best NES games, not THE nest NES Game.
Am I the only one who has noticed that the "Invincibility" music that starts at 2:12 or so is very similar to 'What's the Buzz' from Jesus Christ Superstar?
I'm not going to reverse troll this comment. Honestly, I didn't really even say it was a bad game. I'm not a huge fan but it's still okay. In terms of just Mario games, I would put it at the bottom and I've never seen anyone rank it above World, 3, 64, or even Galaxy. Its standing against 1 is debatable but I think 1 is definitively better since it's a much tigher platformer compared to the floatiness of 2.
Maybe I just missed it, but do they not play the character selection stage music? Not to say this isn't awesome, but that's one of my favorite SMB tunes. With the Minibosses' emphasis on percussion I think it'd compliment the song well.
@ThatKrookedVulture It's because the guitar players hide hasty, sloppy playing behind really overdriven guitars. It does, however, work on the underworld theme here. But THEIR ENTIRE SET LIST is all the same freaking guitar sound. BORING.
@saiyanboyx Not to mention how they recycled this whole game from a japanese game called doki doki panic. Man, I felt so misled when I learned that. "Oh yeah, kids outside Japan won't ever get to learn the truth, don't worry" well, too bad for them there's now this thing called the WORLD WIDE web...
Super Mario 2 was actually the first game I ever beat when I was a kid. I really like this version of the music.
This is so awesome!!!! I can just literally picture playing Super Mario Bros. 2 in my mind!!!
Been diggin these guys for a few decades now!
my pandora radio brought me here. the fond memories of playing this when i was younger all come back . this song is sssooo epic
I particularly like the rendition of the underground music.
3:45 to 3:51 is my favorite segment of the song, dat drum breakdown!
One of the best remixes for one of the best NES games.
This band and The Advantages are probably the best 2 groups in 8-bit music.
love their version of the boss battle, and the final sleep song is pro.
just, thank you for let me can download this song.you guys are awesome!!!!!!!!
great version! nice job!
i hum this to my 1yr old daughter she loves this song
@FlagPoleJumper
yeah - actually.... i only played as toadstool too! : )
Well, in my opinion, I could play Super Mario Bros. 2 all day.
Wow so awesome!
Desert theme was PERFECT
GREAT
Now THIS brings back memories... avoid those FUCKING FISH... I wanna keep my powers you evil spawns!!!
Wow. I can't believe I never noticed that the title theme for SMB2 was the Underwater theme from SMB! Nice mix! 2:38-4:02 = Eargasm!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!
@STdeKaliss it's okay, the levels from the real Mario 2 are on Super Mario All Stars as "The Lost Levels"
Funny how Zelda 2 and Mario bros 2 are some of the less popular games in both of the series, but I love the songs in both of them x)
@trjordan And on GBC's Super Mario Deluxe as "Super Mario Bros. for Super Players!"
wow i don't get why 2 people disliked this. in terms of being good, it's amazing. if you dont like mario 2 theme music or games music, go away
4:51 to 6:12 favorite part
@antonio106 While the Minibosses didn't intentionally lift from SMB1, the music used in the title screen of SMB2 was lifted from SMB1. I think that was what you were trying to get at. Nintendo was surprisingly good at recycling its tunes back in the day.
Love it at 4:10!
Try this Music on "FRETS ON FIRE"...
BEAUTIFUL @
Godly. Garage Rock Mario. 🔥🔥🔥
@antonio106 sorry dude that's the opening title sequence from SMB2. i think you're confusing it with the underwater theme of SMB1
2:55 Anybody else remember the first boss that throws eggs at you while this tune is playing? ;D
He's in a bunch of levels. Birdo is his name lol
I remember reaching him for the first time when I was 6 and being completely baffled as to how to beat him. I wasn't exactly a video game prodigy.
2:37 to 4:04 is my favorite!...heck the whole track! cheers! :)
omgomgomg awesome
@th3planetsghost I was pretty sad to figure out this was a sprite rip, and sad that it was Nintendo to do so. And, I didn't say it was the best NES game. I rank Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 over it any day. But, I said that it was ONE of the best NES games, not THE nest NES Game.
@antonio106 no its not, its the opening theme for SMB2, just played it 2 days ago.
Early botchamania brought me here. The music used to be better in early botchamanias.
@FlagPoleJumper
yeah - that 'floatiness' was because you were afraid to play any character except peach (aka toadstool)...
so damn epic
@saiyanboyx are there records for minibosses? if yes, TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET IT
Pretty sure the whole song isn't his favorite part of it, even if the internet likes to say that to show appreciation to the video.
@m1sterh0tsauc3 You obviously didn't read my first comment on this video:
"One of the best remixes for one of the best NES games."
Doki Doki Panic Rock
God, the drums... *_* I love them especially on this track.
Am I the only one who has noticed that the "Invincibility" music that starts at 2:12 or so is very similar to 'What's the Buzz' from Jesus Christ Superstar?
Have a 1000th like.
Well this one has no differences from the old recording but it's still pretty good.
The first tune in this recording was from SMB 1. Sorry to be THAT guy, but I had to point that out, lol.
A W E S O M E ! ! !
correction 0:00 to 6:12
From 4:08-> sounds like Dream Theater's Six degrees of inner turbulance album.
Botchmania brought me here
Me too.
hell yeah, it was one of the first botchamanias
EDIT: it used to be better when it was just the botches, without bad attempts at being funny or sassy
I am familiar with their work. I caught this on Pandora
It's the ending theme
@yoshiguy56 it's pretty damn fun!
I came here for the desert theme
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHA...Cool!!! :D
I'm not going to reverse troll this comment.

@johnjohnjohn777 The real japanese version is all out one of the best, but I like this SMB 2 better as it is one I can actually attempt to beat. :)
Maybe I just missed it, but do they not play the character selection stage music? Not to say this isn't awesome, but that's one of my favorite SMB tunes. With the Minibosses' emphasis on percussion I think it'd compliment the song well.
too bad it was all just a dream
But one of the best dreams ever.
A nightmare on elm street songs. play those.
@antonio106 no its not its the intro to smb 2 so ur not that guy ur just wrong
what's the name of that one??? If it has one...
Dafuq? Just because it's different? Really? SMB2 is one of my faves.
WICKED!!!
I came here from Chris Box
@suburbanindie That's pretty lame. How can somebody expect to make a name for themselves doing all covers of video game themes?
Advantage is better
Look Up Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic
Cananyonetellmewhatthatlongbuttonnearthebottomisfor?
Anyone coming from FoF
@antonio106 nerd!
Not really. Super Mario Bros 2 is the worst 2D Mario platformer and generally quite low in the Mario canon.
@ThatKrookedVulture It's because the guitar players hide hasty, sloppy playing behind really overdriven guitars. It does, however, work on the underworld theme here. But THEIR ENTIRE SET LIST is all the same freaking guitar sound. BORING.
I don't get it. I don't think it sucks, yet I hate it at the same time.
Don't you guys get sick of doing the whole Iron Maiden sound? Sounds a little sloppy.
This has always been my favorite mario game...though 3 and world are right behind it.
