Great ride, really impressive achievement and thanks for all of your content. Your honesty and humility always come across in your work. Always brilliant to see someone who so clearly gets a lot of enjoyment from riding a bike.
Wow, beautiful flower fields, sadly the cobblestones probably shook a lot, indeed it's important to always remember to eat. Congratulations on the 300+km, hope to make it one day as well.
300KM? Damn!!!!!!!! What a milestone. My sincerely congrats to you on achieving this goal. You are an inspiration for new and current cyclists around the world.
Thank you for sharing the views and your ups and downs. It is encouraging to see the struggle and accomplishment. I hope to make a 200km ride by the end of the year.
This really motevates me. I did a 220km with 2220elevation meters 8 hours, next goal is doing a 400km with 5000 elevation meters, and aiming for 16-17 hours so that i get some sleep
@ 10:42...LOL...the face & sound you did...LOL..Great video as always. Some of those views. 😍 The day turned out AWESOME for you & we are here because you are AWESOME.
WOW! That was impressive! Really enjoying your videos, and how you describe the mental challenges of riding - especially for such long trips. Also appreciate your views on solo riding. Nice to know other people feel the same way as me about this. Looking forward to your next adventure!
Love seeing this. I had to abandon a 300k last summer at the halfway point because of a heat wave. Encouraging to see you go out and do it on your third attempt. Nice one!!
Maybe give it another try this year! 😊I didn’t plan this ride much before and planned the route around 24hrs before. So this just going with it now and not overthinking (which is always a big issue for me) helped a lot.
Wow you did it! Amazing. Thanks for sharing all the ups and downs. I just want to get past 150km. This year I will do it!! The discomfort on bike sucks but feels good to work past those uncomfortable phases of a long ride.
Thank you a lot! If you have a lot of discomfort on the bike check out our latest article: thewomenallride.cc/en/saddle-sore-seat-discomfort-while-cycling/ Maybe you find some tips there helpful. :)
One of the most important lesson I learned from my first 10km ride to now 150s that frequent intake of food and enough intake is gonna play a major role on how you will feel about the the ride. So the last advice was not at all lame. A great video again. Loved it as always
I am (will be) a SEASONAL bike tourist here in the USA; I am a beginner so I will start locally and then hopefully after riding and traveling on my bike (it is currently the HOT SEASON here in Nevada :( for some time, I will graduate into doing longer distant bike touring; Five state south around Nevada and then later on a Five State North bound around Nevada. I am an older person in age, so I am kind of considering e-bike touring as well. Happy Riding :) I believe there are neck wraps that have gel or something inside of them and you place them in the freezer for a while, take them out and use them when it is needed; It is cheap air conditioning, and more than likely handy for keeping you cooler when bike riding too..I am a whiz when it comes to retail products for cycling, camping gear, etc for the best price too. I was taught this as a cyclist; : Drink before your thirsty and often, and eat before you're hungry...
Congratulations, it's always a moral booster when goals are achieved. Keep going. I did something similar when I went from Delhi to Chandigarh on my cycle. It was awesome.
Thanks for your inspiration. I saw (part of) your video and decided to do also a 300km tour on Saturday. I started at 4:00 am, so I wouldn't get afterwards in the dark. Food intake was really hard towards the end and the last 90 km or so were very hard for me because it got just a little bit hilly again in the Elsass on my way back to Germany and that was definitely a little bit too much at that moment. Still finished it. Thanks :)
happy to see you---wonderful to finish ---and be out in nature of course---like seeing what you take to eat to. look forward for another trip, be safe. deatra
Third time luckily...Well Done on achieving that milestone.. I have many occasions where I just want to turn round and head for home, but fortunately I push threw that feeling and end up really enjoying my relatively short rides compared to you. Thanks for sharing that and keeping me motivated..

Mega gut, also nochmal Glückwunsch :) Konnte all deine Gefühle bei gleichen Kilometerzahlen mitfühlen 😀 ..baked beans jetzt 100% bei meiner nächsten Tour dabei haha
I saw your ride popping up on Strava. And i was happy with my 140k. You sent me back to beginner mode. I love your vids: open and honest and all of us recognize the sound one makes when a fly tries has to use our mouth as a parking garage 'grrrrr - spit out'
140km is not beginner. I have friends that do 500+ km. The key is do see your accomplishments detached from what others do or ride. I struggle with that myself though. And yeah that classic fly sound 😅
Hello Marcel, 140 km is good distance. I think the most difficult is 100 km evidently because of psychological, 100. A Gran Fondo is 125km so you have pass a Gran Fondo. Cheers 😁✌️
Congratulations on this achievement! 👍👍👍 The video was a pleasure to watch! Keep your honesty and the joy in what you are doing! Had the time to do a 200km rideFAR ride (with a little bit more off-road sections) earlier this year and can only underline the importance of nutrition. Two of my planned refill places were actually closed in the middle of nowhere. I am always trying to keep my "Notfallbrötchen" until the very end 😂 Again, congrats! Greetings from Saxony-Anhalt.
Thank you a lot! Oh that’s bad when your refill options disappear. 😕In that cases I try to find graveyards (sounds weird, but most of the times you can get drinking water there). Notfallbrötchen, beste! 😃
Excellent video. I recently bought a new MTB and had a real ride after many years of not doing it. You actually motivated me to keep pushing and I'm very proud that I did a 80 km ride myself. I know it may not sound as much, but MTB is not built for that and it was a real accomplishment for me. I felt dead afterwards, but so happy that I made and it gave me a lot of confidence going forward... I actually thought about your videos having those fears and struggle, just like everybody has and I felt like I'm not alone in this and that felt good. Thank you very much and looking forward to your next adventures posted here on YT. By the way, could you share your playlist? I'd love to hear some of that. All the best.
I watch You and I smile . Just came back from over 300km ride as well . One think ! I watch You and I smile for amount liquids consumed within 24 hours .... Great Ride . 🙌🙏
Congrats. Such a nice accomplishment. An achievement like that really gives a big boost to your confidence. Have a great summer of riding. #everyrideisepic ✌🏼, Rob
Hey there, nice video! Congrats on your first 300! I have watched your video just before doing my first ever 300km/day this last Friday so it came as an encouragement that I can do that too! I can not imagine the frustration you must have gotten doing 290km twice and not finishing it, but if the body gave up there is probably no other way than calling it off and being safe rather than pushing through pain for too long. How did the distance feel after bike fit? Did you have lower back/back pain or butt pain whatsoever? I started cycling outside (apart from riding on my turbo trainer at home for the past year) at the end of the March riding my 20year old MTB and really liked it. Recently upgraded my bike to a steel gravel bike to better fit my cycling needs of riding longer distances and that is a joy to ride. I must say that the number one biggest issue (apart from butt pain and slight lower back pain) for me during the day was definitely getting enough food in my body, normally I do eat every 30min-1hour but not nearly as much as I should have (50-60g carbs/hour) but I did not want to bonk so I tried keeping my carb intake high throughout the ride. That really felt like a workout in it of its own, but a lot of harribos, orange juices, skittles, sandwiches and two bigger meals throughout the day got me to the finish line. I ate roughly 6000 kcal in the day. End result was 301km 2820 elevation gain and 12:45 hours ride time (23.6 km/h) 16:30h total time Good luck on your next travels!
Great video, as usual! I love your videos, please continue making them. Could you maybe make a video about the camera(s) and equipment you're using? And also how you're setting everything up on the bike and film while riding? Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to your next video!
Thank you a lot. I only use a GoPro 9. That’s it. Sometimes I have a tripod with me, usually I go without. I simply hold the camera with my hand. 😀 in older videos I used a go pro mount on my stem.
