Contrary to all the negativity I've been spreading, I actually think the event itself is fine xD Just wish they spiced it up at all for this year or that they didn't completely sour it by giving Darkrai as the end reward for raids. I know I'm probably not one of your favourite people on twitch because I write a lot of cringe in your chat that you often don't even wanna say out loud, so I get it, but I hope you know you've been one of my favourite streamers to come into this game and I will keep watching you even if you play other pokemon games or showdown o7
If I miss something in chat try just writing it again. As I've grown it's gotten harder for me to catch everything. Or maybe it was cringe and I ignored it yeah that's also possible :^)
well i can understand why it feels taht way since you played for a long time. since its my first halloween i do enjoy it quite much but im super fresh to the game x). hope they release some content for the players that are playing for years

having to ban "sharpness" on gallade really shines a spotlight on the cracks in the current meta (namely: where dem walls at, although i am glad heatran is not around) just give us regen slowbro already (ban teleport if u want), i dont even care about slowbro i just want slowking T.T. i know comparing pokemmos meta vs showdown is unfair but there are still similar enough formats to get a rough idea, and i can tell u neither gallade nor slowbro have ever been a problem over there.
Fix the cause not the symptoms please
Port slowbro is fine and would help break stall. Might make a video on that misconception

It would make sense the other way around. Heatran for Christmas and Cresselia(Lunar Pokemon) for Lunar new year
The problem with pvp is that it favors stall teams so much that every tournament you will see the same boring ass teams that switch back and forth for 40 mins, waiting to kill each other with hazards and poison. it's unplayable and unwatchable
2 weeks late but stall has always been the safest way to end tournaments and it's not just a pokemmo thing, it's even more prevalent in pokemon showdown.
Turn counters being the only pvp update outside of a neich guy for a whole event that they said would give us relevant counters feels very very bad, i started this game honesrly at thr same time as you spidget ao this was my first event ever too, i made a lot of money, a spent it all on investments but genuinly after rent a darkri came out i atopped playing for a day and it made me feel BAD cause i feel the fomo, im still going out tonight to get my rental guy, but man alive did it ever kill my mood
Hey gekko moria when you play on smogon can you tell us or commentate a bit on what is hapoening, because it is so much faster than pokemmo and you just mash through everything, idk about pvp so i get lost so fast
Yeah I'm gonna try to stop mashing the skip animation button too on stream. I've been on showdown for 10 years so it was a bit hard to break the habit on the rare showdown stream
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have a feeling many will follow your lead if changes aren't made in the near future.
As someone who plays this game for almost 3 years, even tho its not 3 years full playing with but with a lot of breaks i really understand how you are feeling and most people are feeling about this event, lets be honest every event is the same every year the diference is they added raids and i really think it is really well done its a lot of fun to do it and i really dont care about the rewards because for me doing the raid is the important thing but if its still not a permanent thing like it is in this case the rewards have to be a lot better since we will be a year without the resources this raids added (if still goes like it goes every year) and they really need to use raids to bring something new to the game, i love the game but i just cant play pokemmo as my main mmo because the game unless you are shining hunting doesnt have that much things to do after a while yeh we have pvp and i will be honest im not a expert at all about it but i enjoy play it but seeing people who are actually good at that and really care about that part of the game complaining about problems we had for so long is disturbing because if we are not getting actually pve content and pvp its the same for months what are the devs doing ? design cosmetics and get big paychecks ? About darkrai is a completely joke we dont even need to talk about i think everyone would prefer any other legendary or hidden abilitie that brings something to the game than a 1 hour per week useless darkrai that isnt even good enough for you to flex it because its time limited to have him following you, i really hope they make changes in the future because i really think this is the best pokemmo we have but still need to work in a lot of things to be a good MMO.

This is the biggest problem with current games, developers never listen to the community but always think they are doing what we need/want. The last two raids were supposed to be regen slowbro and levitate gengar (or at least one of them), the last raid was the easiest to do, which makes no sense at all. The raids are worse than the first ones, this time the only thing you can do is screens, tailwind, haze and spam dmg until you die, there's no strategy, no setups, nothing, just a brainless strategy. The rest of the event is the same as it was. They could have done much better, this event just showed me that they don't play their own game. I can't say much about pvp because I don't play it, but the few things I know about it I have to agree with spidget, there's no motivation to play pvp, you have to play with the same pokemons most of the time to win, fighting tents for 40m, just to get a useless metal jacket. They could ban some strategies from some tournaments because most of the times I see the spidget, there are always stalls reaching the finals (correct me if I'm wrong).

I've played the game actively since 2016 and took multiple breaks starting 2021. it's not the game I fell in love with anymore. The heavy emphasis on cosmetics completely ruined my interest as a PvP player because we were always on the short end of the stick.
Event loop is boring. Rent a darkrai is shit. Raids are way different from scarlet/violet. Not satisfied with the update.

i honestly agree with the darkrai take. Me personally i think the devs could have taken more liberty with implementing darkrai as an OU mon by reducing its stats, or just implementing an Ubers tier which idk why they dont do, the king of the hill type mechanic to me is kind of lame and i think it starves the game of being able to just add all sorts of cool end boss raids and the whole world of ubers tier

Hopefully there's a roaming legendary added after the event or something, or I'll come back around Christmas in anticipation of potential new releases again. Hopefully we get a guy we can use

(2 1/2 year player) Yeah i always take breaks as well and i don't even play pvp. that was the goal but the prizes and there's so many mons missing abilities moves. they'll add some here and there but what's that a handful a year? great game but wish the devs cared more about other aspects besides just time investing.

Event is irredeemably bad in all aspects. Even if this is your thing, it’s just undisputedly worse than its predecessors: Anniversary Event, Christmas 2023 & Lunar New Year. literal shit from a butt update.
and we also just see TC incompetence on full display. justifying a tiering decisions based on empty promises. then just saying “whoopsies” after months of sitting on their hands.
the developers are complacent as all shit and as are the players.
