I'm going to pass on sleeping in that under seat berth/coffin.

Some competitors in this class have a large bed that goes across the beam under the cabin seating. Nothing new, but definitely a tight fit.

It’s actually a kids bed is what the ranger sales guys told me that’s what they consider it to be
if it comes with a bed/bath there’s less taxes cause it can be considered a “second home”

It’s actually not built very robustly. The hull layup is not terribly thick. It’s more of an RV for the water.

I’ve worked on a couple of the bigger Ranger models. Terrible build quality and an even worse ride.
Might be slightly improved since they started packaging them with outboards. Definitely a better choice than a BY series Yanmar.

You were right the 1st time. Its an entry level boat.
These are great little boats. The under table births often used for storage space... though its a great kids birth. for a 23' boat it has a nice little wet bath, nice small kitchen... etc.
Its not a live-aboard but some people could. Its a nice weekend trawler.
its 50k more to step up to the R-25, then another 50k to step up to the R-27... for the R27 it feels like all 4 feet extra went into the bathroom.
So 23 is a great day cruiser... 27 good for longer trips... then you want to go to the 31 for liveaboard.
Any 34 footers inboard only?

4 great boats you can purchase for the price or below of the price of this boat. 1. Sea Ray 380 Sundancer. 2. Trojan 360 Express. 3. Trojan 400 Express. 4. Formula 37 PC. There are many more. But I suppose the ability to trailer it is nice. I just feel that this would make a better day boat.

Even the old Sea Ray 26 had a hard. Try a night held by an anchor. A best I would call this a day boat.

I love this. It's by the cutwater family. And this one I like the most. It's a classy look.. The price is reasonable.. By the time I get mine it would knock off thirty five.. I want to use one.😅😅. The small bed for the kids

Ranger Tug… I believe. There’s a bunch of these in the PNW, you can find a good used one in the off season for 60-80k but they sell quickly so be prepared if you’re serious
Think reincarnated Bayliner. Similar level of economical construction. Good use of interior space like a Winnebago which is what we called the Bayliner's.

As a boatbuilder who has worked on repairing ranger tugs......this is NOT, AT ALL, a f*** yacht. they're made like absolute garbage. This is the Isuzu of boats

wow. I keep trying to buy a cape dory 28 flybridge. which is a great boat and can. barely be trailered. but this is impressive to me. I love looking down on the water from flybridge though.

but this can be trailered. no dock fees. in my area that would save you 1000+ a month. that alone could pay the payment for this.

@@richardstuivenberg4618 that's awesome. I'm on the west coast of Florida. To expensive to dock and to scared to anchor. But would love a larger cape dory sailboat. If I ever get -dockage might not be a problem. I will just sail away! Sailboat has little fuel cost.
@@joethomas6457 if the marina fees are that insane. And you are ready to sail out. Just buy a decent one and live on it. Find a decent Anchorage. Who's really gonna steal a sailboat anyway? And the amount of hidden places you could place a gps tracker is infinite. You could inform the coast Guard, and in minutes they would stop the thief.. even in 3th world country's people dont steal big sailboats. They wouldnt know what to do with them anyway.
@@richardstuivenberg4618 these are good points. I lived on the hook for years in St Thomas usvi and loved it. I was on a trawler marine trader. Took the thorny path down from Florida. Scared the hell outta me around great inagua. Almost rolled. All I could think was I should have bought a sailboat. Freighter changed course to knock down waves for me to attempt a turn around. 20+ waves. Thought we were gonna die. No life raft just a dyer dinghy bobbing around behind us. Sailboat is the only way of shore. Know a guy that rolled a cape dory 30' and came back up. Didn't loose the mast or anything. Still rough day

The word Yacht ( Jacht - Dutch ) is a Sailing Vessel powered by the Wind.
There are acutally multiple definitions to the word, Roger. No fixed universal definition for all places and countries exist. The current "base line" definition is that it simply is a pleasure (non commercial) boat.
Most Americans would use the definition thats is a pleasure boat, but needs to be above a certain size/length as well.

Just because you believe there are / maybe various definitions used, doesn’t mean that it is correct.

The word "Jacht" (sic) means "hunt", not "wind powered". I can only assume you or the ones who told you so dont speak a "germanic" language. I, on the other hand, do.
Anyway, It just so happens ships for "hunting" were wind powered because there were no engines in existance all those hundreds of years ago, and the focus for the ship was on speed, to facilitate this "hunt". Power type is inconsequential since nothing else existed. Thus, since engine powered craft are faster, any ship can be a yacht.
Lastly, please be a bit more humble of your own blind spots, since you are being rude and, ironically, the one misleading people.
