I am a student of Hani's. She's been teaching me for over a year now. I've had plenty of teachers over the years. Hani would be the best. I am an awful student as I work way too much and don't practice enough, but Hani is patient. She knows her stuff. I would recommend private classes to anyone wanting to learn Bahasa at any level.

Nasihat: The way they teach bahasa Indonesia at universities is WAY to formal and it relies on silly stuff like kids songs (topi bundar saya) and simple guff like ordering a nasi goreng. Immediately it should show learners base words, the prefixes and suffixes, and how they alter the words' meanings (if at all). It's also important to immediately teach time structures (tenses) because all the idiots keep saying it's an easy language and there are no tenses, which is completely false. Terus, the rampant slang and local dialects (Betawi, Sudanese DLL) are very important and they should be taught from the beginning as well (as much as possible). Every lesson should show some scenes from different sinetron (copyright permitting) and what they are actually saying and the street meaning for that region (most foreigners don't know that many Indonesians can't even understand each-other, let alone the main language).
