In this video dated 1984, master Yan Zijie 燕子杰 and his students demonstrate their branch of Meihuaquan known as Ganzhi wushi meihuazhuang 干支五式梅花桩.
Starting from the eighth generation of teachers of the style, master Zhang Congfu created a new variant of the style and in the Hebei area, especially around Pingxiang, Weixian and Guangzong, up to Liaocheng and Liangshan in Shandong, this practice took the name of Xiaojia as opposed to all previous practices that take the name of Dajia.
