Before Morrell could even speak Benavidez's name he needs to fight Caleb "Sweet Hands" Plant and Andrade and then prove himself that he's ready to fight Benavidez . In spite of That Benavidez said in this interview that he's willing to give Morrell a pay day opportunity to fight him. My opinion is that that Morrell needs to prove himself before having the privilege to fight Benavidez. Morrell hasn't even fought a fighter in the caliber of Anthony Dirrell Yet he wants the easy way in the big pay day? That's an insult to Sweet hands and Andrade.

The fact so Morrel has not beaten sweet hands and the 35 year old prospect in real life, he has only beaten them in the text that you typed on a UA-cam comment.
Fights are won in the ring. Morrel has to beat them in the ring. Not only does that legitimise him as a challenger but it also makes the makes him a bigger star and a bigger name and makes the Benavidez fight all the more appetising.
If you weren’t such a casual you would know that beating the guys that your rival defeated and doing it better than they did is the best way to build a fight.
Manny Pacquiao did it. He beat Hatton, Mosley, and Delahoya after Floyd already did it and he tried to beat them better than Floyd did.
Crawford beat Shawn Porter and Kell Brook after Spence beat em and same story.
Getting common opponents with your rival and beating them better is the best way to make yourself relevant and to build the big fight and make the casual and hardcore fans demand it more.

His plan makes sense. Fighting a good but older guy at 175 and if he wins he’s in line to fight the Beterbiev/Bivol winner. That’s the best route for his career and should be the priority. Morrell got a step up in quality but still a safe fight in August then should be looking at a Buatsi.
