I’ve seen plenty of Hindu guru sitting higher then their students. Literally isn’t a big deal. It’s not like he’s calling himself a god like nithyananda lol. Doesn’t place himself in some high divine stature like jesus. Lol he’s just a guru. You’re looking at the wrong idea
