First of all, great video Hpsetiadi, excellent narrative and videography. Thank you.
My stay there was nice. Rather than a standard room, I did choose a one bedroom suite. However, calling itself a Resort Hotel, it should have included a microwave oven in the rooms, and espcially should have been included with a suite. A "Resort Fee" of nearly $15 a day was tacked on to cost of the suite for my 3 day stay. There is a nice size refrigerator, but remember to use the wall switch next to the unit to turn it on, as it has no power when occupants first enter the rooms. If you don''t notice the switch and only adjust the temperature level in the refrigerator, it never turns on or gets cool.
The wooden louvered shutters are nice, but they don't stay in place when you try to position them to your liking. Also only one side of the double sliding door can be uncovered for a view of the mountains or pool at a time. It's impossible to have the complete window uncovered for a nice view as you would in most hotel rooms or suites. The 32 inch televisions are small for todays luxury hotels. However my suite, room 223 had a new upgraded 55 inch set, which had a great picture, but was a little touchy in the controls.
Unfortunately the lush carpeting in the hallways has been replaced with the now trendy wood veneers that give the hallway a lonely hospital corridor look. Unfortunately, they tend to bounce the sounds around to make it noisier in the mornings when the maids are pushing their carts around. So if you want to sleep in, there is no carpet to soften the sounds of the wheels of the carts or footsteps of early risers or even help absorb the noises of people talking and laughing. However, the walls of the hallways are great with hundreds of large pictures of Lucy and Desi and family and friends from the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's.
The beds couldn't be called soft or comfortable, a bit bouncy and seemed to be higher in the middle than the sides. Again, that's only commenting on the beds in my suite. Maybe they're better in other rooms. Fortunately the rooms haven't converted to wood floors and still had the luxury feel of carpet. The rest room in the suite was large and roomy with a large oversized shower plus a separate and adjoining oversized tub. Not a jacuzzi, but standard tub. Everything was clean and well kept, with the exception of the plate around the shower temperature control, which was loose and hanging. Again, this only pertains to room 223, the suite where I stayed.
I did have a problem with the television when I first checked in, but the gentleman at the front desk was more than helpful and polite. I did go up to the front desk a couple more times for questions, and once when I accidentally locked myself out of my room. Each time the desk attendant was very polite and helpful. Always friendly and courteous.
The living room in my suite was nicely furnished, but did not have the tall artificial plant that you see in advertisements. The sofa and chair were comfortable, but the gray color of the fabric didn't blend in well with the warm colors of the walls and carpet. But the sofa was perfectly positioned directly across from the television, making evening television viewing a pleasure. No need to twist your neck to watch an awkwardly positioned television as often happens in other hotels. Here, it's positioned perfectly. What I would hope they would do in the future would be to remove the large wooden shuttered panels covering the sliding doors. They look nice, but once you want to let the warm desert sun in, or have a nice view, you find that they're bulky and always cover one side of the window then rolled over to the other side. They're unique in looks and style, but troublesome in operation and adjusting. Replacing them with nice quality draperies that open completely to give a nice panoramic view would be a welcome option.
There is an onsite bar downstairs. It's located in the dining area where the evening shows are held. So you don't have a quiet bar to sit and talk in due to the loud sound system used for the entertainment. Nearly impossible to have a conversation with someone. Also, it seems to close down at 10 pm every night. So anyone hoping to have a bar that stays open until the 2 am limit is out of luck. That would have been great for those who would rather not have to drive after a night of drinking, rather than have to travel back to the hotel after drinking at an offsite bar. Not a problem for me, since I don't drink, but I can see where it would be a great disadvantage for some. It would be much nicer to be able to drink late, and simply safely walk to an elevator and return to your room rather than get in a car. Especially for someone travelling alone or a couple that doesn't have a designated driver.
It's a nice hotel. Like all hotels there are advantages and disadvantages. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would probably stay again
