The Most Foolish of Spring Rides
Вставка

- Fool's Spring - I don't care what comes next - I'll take it! Late February/early March and riding the gravel bikes in the 70 degree sun! Its bad for the planet its good for my soul. Just a couple of bicycle rides out to Kent and some good vibes with friends. Sunday's bike ride was our "recovery" ride after Road Apple Roubaix with a stop at MadCap Brewing. Monday Erin and I went searching for a few new roads through the neighborhoods.

Best video ending ever!
That Edmund! 😻😻😻
Looks like a great ride, so cool the areas you ride around ❤️🏁🚴♀️🚴♀️
Thanks - we love to mix it up and go weird places - maybe even pushing the boundaries of where we are allowed.😎
@@TimFitzwater haha! I was wondering that through what looked like a working quarry!
Here in uk we’d deffo do the same but probably get chased out!😂🏁🏁
My kind of riding!
lil bit of everything
Need some Edmund stickers in the swag shop!
I know- we've been throwing around a couple ideas!🐈⬛
Excellent footage with smart editing and great music. Tim, you should give a workshop on how to make compelling bike videos.
Thanks - I truly appreciate that!
I think the workshop would be real short - "make hundreds of bike videos and avoid doing what you don't like in other bike videos"!🥸
I love going out on my weekly ride with you guys.
Nice to have ya along!😎
summer is coming 😃Had our first big club ride out at the weekend :video (Dom Whiting, drum and bass on a bike Southampton) twas much fun had by all 👌
Nice! Its funny - my little group rides all winter but this time of year I sometimes skip out being sick of the not nice weather(rainy and low 40s when our last ride was supposed to be).
Great video! Love Edmund’s ending.
Thanks!
He is a funny little dude!
Cool video and great sound track. Erin looks like she's doing well. 👏👏
Thanks! She is - really getting back in the groove.
Edmund is so cute🎉🎉❤
I love him! He is running around playing like a maniac right now!
If you keep making “my” little foot bridge look cool, it’s going to get crowded. 😀
Ha! There were 4 kids on MTB-like bikes this day already! (The didn’t recognize me 🥸)

It's a beautiful early spring ride, the sun is shining, can't get much better than that. The spring is just around the corner. Any big bike touring plans for this summer?
Yes - I am so excited for more nice weather - 60s today but 37 on Sunday🙁
We are starting to think about our plans - leaning towards a tour around the Finger Lakes with the top part being on the Erie Canal.
@@TimFitzwater that's sounds like an awesome plan. How many miles would that be?
@@TimFitzwaterride south some Tennessee,Georgia, Carolina’s, Florida etc lol
just got back from my first bike ride as well.
I gotta try that with our new feral cat.
Yeah - he loves the ball in a box game!
Awesome video! Great music! Where is this?
Thanks! Cuyahoga Falls to Kent, OH
Hey Tim, do you ever ride your vintage Trek? I only see you on that Raleigh these days while that Trek 500 is a lot cooler 😉
Not much. I have about 5000 miles on it but I prefer wider tires these days.
@@TimFitzwater Wider tires mean more rolling resistance. But I assume you mean you mainly drive off-road 👍
@wittebruidsduivenschouwen-2488 no / I mean on road too. That is a very outdated statement. Skinny tires lose tons of energy to vibration - way more than you loose to rolling resistance. Even the pros are riding wider and wider tires every year. The understanding of this has dramatically changed with research being done on actual roads instead of steel drums in labs.
The most optimal tire width for the road is 28mm. Anything wider than this is therefore a compromise. What do you ride on your Tamland 2? 40mm?
Which is of course a logical choice when you regularly drive off-road like you do. Your videos are great by the way. Keep it up 👌
Polish cats are the best!
That is what makes a great ride for me...variety of scenery and surfaces.
Right? Gotta mix it up!
Nice. What’s the groovy tune ?

Great video! Did you change anything, like gopro settings or in post-production? The video look more cinematic for some reason. May be it's the intense sun we're not used to see :)
Thanks!
Both - I do a certain style of color grading that works best when the sun is out. I subdue it in the grey weather as it comes out too dark. "Crushing the blacks" - as they say in the biz(making the darkest parts really dark). Really gives the cinematic look.
Pure joy! Cheers Tim.
Cheers!
