December 2020. Scarlett Gomez, MPH, PhD, discusses her career path to cancer epidemiologist in this “career fair” video from the UCSF HDFCCC Office of Education & Training
I'm very interested in epidemiology. I have a B.S. in Geosciences (I took biology, physics, chemistry, statistics, and so on). I love data. Even now I do data collection and interpretation. I work in education currently, but I'm thinking of going for my MPH. This video was informative so thank you. I want to help people and I think this is a good way.
Great information thank you. But I still have a few questions. I was recently a nursing student but now have been kicked out of the program. So I was thinking of pursuing my bachelor health science degree. But was unsure where to go. So my questions to you are. So I have to obtain my BS degree first in public health and then further my degree into epidemiology and then get my PhD if I chose to. Is that correct? I’m currently at Clayton state in GA. Please help

Yep , you don’t need a PhD but it helps . But you definitely need a masters in public health/epidemiology
