Dot and Bubble was f*cking brilliant too. I think that the season was a standout, there were some glaring issues that need to be addressed, like some of the Doctor’s characterisation. Also, it was way too short. This show needs more episodes for sure.
Well done review of the season - entertaining and thoughtful. I agree with much of your critiques - thanks for being so clear and insightful about your thoughts and feelings.
Okay now you just have to re-rank the entirety of the show again but this time rank it on how woke each episode is. Spending multiple days researching what gender the Adipose go by sounds like content to me
But for the whole show. So people would see that doctor who also ways has ben woke. Like every episode with captain jack would be ranked extremely woke
Great video, I've often felt that the RTD2 era feels like Russell trying to imitate Moffat's style of wrtiting but just doesn't pull it off. It's a shame because he absolutely can write an amazing series (just look at the RTD1 era), but he's chosen to dumb it down and reinvent the wheel.
I'm really enjoying the first 26 minutes of this video, but learning that Danny has not invented a special, Sub-Godawful tier category for Space Babies is, quite frankly, a crime on a level that is utterly unparalleled in human history. I will be taking legal action against this channel. Good day.
This is a very good list, I particularly agree with what you said about Rogue. The episode isn't necessarily bad in my opinion but it does feel lacking in... well anything. It's a nothing burger, I can't really say anything about it. I would be a little bit more positive towards Space Babies and the Giggle than you were but with that said, I also have my problems with the Giggle too. Overall great video, very entertaining, thank you for posting
as a trans person i agree that the line delivery rose has was not it if i were to write that line, id make it to the degree of "its not human so how can we hold it to the same standards, its like bees! bee genders are pretty much 'worker, drone, queen'", no where near the human concepts of gender
Pretty much agree with all of this which I wasn’t expecting. RTDs strengths have always been his exceptional character work. he was 3/3 with companions, 2/2 with incredibly interesting and three dimensional doctors and had easily the best extended cast in the shows history with the Tylers, Nobles, Torchwood and Sarah Jane gang. When we found out he was coming back, I was so excited for the show to become more focused around the drama again Instead we got, respectfully to Millie Gibson she’s a great actor, a terrible companion. Ncuti is a great actor to play the Doctor but in his first season his writing was so weak. And then the extended cast was ass cheeks. There was absolutely no interesting drama, the characters were two dimensional… I don’t think it’s a terrible season at all, but when RTD isn’t playing to his strengths then his weaknesses feel a lot more frustrating. The big mystery of the season might be the worst in Doctor who history I’m being dead serious. At least the timeless child twist is coherent with the clues and it’s not like every episode had people saying “timeless child” over and over again. Meanwhile we have literal gods shitting themselves over Ruby’s mom who turns out to be some random ass woman who was only important because Ruby made her important?? The doctor has like thousands of people who’ve been important to him, the whole thing makes no sense. Plus the classic RTD Deus ex machina, episodes that don’t even have a resolution and leave it up to “audience interpretation” (also knows as writing yourself into a hole and pretending like you didn’t) Just, can we please get back to this show being more grounded because the bigger they try it make it and the more established lore they fuck around with, it begins to lose its identity. I don’t mind Doctor Who changing, it always has but it’s getting harder and harder to rewatch the old stuff when it literally doesn’t make sense with the new information we are getting presented. Just ditch all the bi-regeneration, timeless child, Sutekh hiding on the Tardis etc and go back to what has always worked which is the show being focused on the dynamic between the Doctor and his companions. That dynamic is Doctor who, it’s gotten away from that completely
Great comment!! Absolutely agree and I hear you there man.💯 Along side what you said, going back to 10+ episodes would also fix some of this. Feels like we made it to the end (which was borderline bad) extremely fast with not much substance. We didn't have enough time with The Doctor and Ruby as bad and good as it was. I think that could've, not would've, could've also saved series 14 sorry I mean season 1. Also love sutekh in this but having him sit on the TARDIS for all that time and the Ruby's mum thing. Total miss. Peak bad.
I really think that with 8 episodes, it needs to be 1 story with mabye 1 or 2 episodes that don't connect as much, but still just one story. RTD has a good track record of mini/limited series, so I think that would work, but idk if they actually would do it.
Midnight is different because the only factor is, we don't see the monster, but we know what it's trying to do, and the episode is about survival instincts and how humans turn against each other when it's a matter of life and death. 73 yards has TOO much unexplained, not just why is old creepy lady there.
@DannyTDW if you could see all the pics I have where they shoot where I live.... near the actual Church & also I know it's 73 yards from the market ( where Kates sat) to Mcdonalds ( where the UNIT vans are ). Just to name a few. Sorry haven't got round to watching you're video yet 🥰
RTD2 era just feels like that "whats up fellow kids" meme. he's trying too hard and there's something artifical or less earnest about it. i suspect some corpo meddling too. but then, what do i know? i dropped out around Capaldi era while getting pretty tired around late Smith era so :/
I fatigued at the same time as you. Rewatched all of Capaldi (I'd actually seen it all and forgotten?!) to start Whittaker's but only turned up for 2 of 3 seasons because the fatigue was still there for me all those years. I had no intention of continuing until my sister said the specials were good. While I agree that Gatwa's season isn't peak, and I didn't enjoy the bogeyman or goblin episodes, there is a spark that RTD brings back to the show, there's a magic I found compelling enough to keep me watching and actually enjoy myself for the first time in years. Also, Dot and Bubble is up there with my favourites of all time.
@@Frogface91 i think for me i'm just tired of doctor who being ABOUT the doctor or their companion or a "SeriesLongMystery" - i just think it might be nice to have a whole series just be stand alone adventures with a monster or problem that is solved in an interesting way with a little bit of scary things or metaphor and that be that.
@@satyasyasatyasya5746 This is why I think Whittaker’s first season is pretty good. Chibnall had noble goals that were scuppered by his ability to write science fiction.
Issue is now 2 doctors can exist in the same timestream, and tennant is based on earth in mordern day. This means that there can't be any significant adventures based on modern day earth without either bringing back tenant or causing a massive plot hole, because there would never be a reason for tenant not to be there or for the new doctor not to call him and ask for help. Then again, this series has never shyed away from plot holes and devices before, so maybe we won't notice.
I mean, I don't think new doctor would call him for help, since it would undermine the entire plot reason for why ncuti's line took over from tennants line
@@kyoko4651 so lets say the fate of the world is obviously at stake. The daleks are taking over and killing people on mass or whatever. Is David Tennants doctor really gonna lie on his sun lounger all like "not my problem anymore, I'm retired." And just watch the world end around him?
I disagree that the show should be serialized in the way that Flux is. I absolutely think the show should feel more serialized when it comes to character development and certain aspects of the world-building, but you can do that and still have a different adventure each week, with the occasional two-parter of course. It's harder to pull that off in just 8 episodes but I think it's possible. I just think something special would be lost if Doctor Who became completely serialized.
Why have the monster have always been outside of the tardis? The outside of the tardis is tiny! Its the inside thats huge. Have it so gradually this monster has been collecting little bits and peices of the tardis over the years and had slowly been building an evil tardis. You could even foreshadow the reveal for a few seasons by having bits and peices going missing. One day the doctor misplaced his sonic scredriver so he has to do a few adventures without it until he's able to get a new one. Eventually when the evil tardis is completed, the regular tardis goes wonky and "breaks" (because a tardis is never supposed to be inside another tardis or some bs) which causes the season finale adventure. Also, another piece of advice, IF YOU DON'T WANT CHARACTERS KILLED, DON'T KILL THEM OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE! the only characters I'm happy being killed and brought back are characters like captain jack, because it made sense and there were long term consequences for it happening, being a regeneration and he's now cursed with immortality.
Brilliant as always and I 100% agree on the Rogue episode being awful and Rogue being a Captain Jack if you ordered him from Wish. Good review as always and definitely worth the wait.
I think I really enjoyed this series coming off the previous era. It was a major step up in quality. That said, its not anywhere near the heights of the series, with some fairly large issues showing up throughout. I'd say its alright, and as long as it keeps improving I think we're in a good place
YES MATE! 😁 I've been looking forward to this. Made my day! You also seem like a really cool guy, so big respect and appreciation to you dude. Keep up the great work.
I thought RTD's comments on Davros being ableist made a little sense in terms of his scarring, which was meant to make him look unsettling. The wheelchair tho? Kinda neither here nor there.
Idk how people defend 73 Yards unless they stop watching once it becomes a political commentary about the Welsh man who wants to nuke the world. Also the fact the cycle stops means that he still becomes PM and he still verbally and physically abuses his gf and the fact that Ruby's justification for not intervening sooner is to use the strange power of hers to scare the pm felt entirely gross. As someone who was formerly in an abusive relationahip, it unnerved me.
Rose questioning the Doc pronouning the Meep with he/him pronouns is exactly what I would do. It's super weird to assign a gender to an alien. Why wouldn't you question that??? The weird problematic bit of that interaction is the Meep saying their pronouns are 'the Meep', which is saying that no pronouns are to ever be used on them. Not even they/them. And the Doctor says he does the same. THAT'S what makes the interaction uncomfortable and clearly written by a cis person who had a trans actress right there and presumably RTD held too much power for her to feel comfortable questioning/consulting on such things.
Yeah, I feel like they wrote this to please HR rather than the actual people they’re supposedly representing. I don’t understand why we can’t get gay characters like captain jack in modern Who. Captain Jack never went “hey people, I’m captain Jack, pronouns he/him, I’m also out & proud!” Nah he was just like “you have an excellent bottom too, sir” and we all fell in love with him
Amazing video as always When the trailer for season 1 came out and there was that frame of Ncuti Gatwa standing next to David Tennant’s face I thought this was going to be a scene where Rouge (who I thought would be Captain Jack) would recognise that face and then they’d realise who each other were but I think all in all the episode was ok
While in character unlike 13 and honestly 14 with how much he shows things to Donna that would remind her about the Doctor. 15 just doesn't have the personality like 11 or 10 nor the beautiful character development of 9 and 12. He's just another Doctor to me. Ruby is such a nothing companion to. Nothing like the romance with Rose. Clara's story of being more like the doctor being her downfall. Or Amy and Rory slowly through 11s run realising they can't always be with the Doctor. Also as a trans person, Roses story didn't work at all for me.
Clara's downfall? What downfall? Hell Bent ends with Clara gaining elective immortality (she literally has all the time in the universe before needing to return to her eventual death) and literally getting her own TARDIS to explore all of time and space for as long as she wants. Clara gets a bigger reward than literally any other character in the entire 60+ years of Doctor Who. So, I'll ask again, WHAT downfall???
@HOTD108_ she doesn't get to see The Doctor again. Pretty obvious lmao. Also bigger reward ? Donna ?? She literally got her tragic ending removed for a perfect ending where she gets her Doctor and family life.
I still feel like we no nothing about this particular doctor. I couldn't describe him with anything except that he's more of a crier than other doctors. Making the season about ruby to then retire her makes it feel just kinda weird
I know the Moffat years have gotten more popular with fans over the years but I'd still take this season over Series 6-Flux any day. I do think it's also significantly worse than anything from Series 1-5. Even Series 2. Sure it wasn't amazing, it was entertaining. I do think that it should improve, I'm also at a point where if it were cancelled, I'd be fine with that too. I like watching it when it comes out and if it's hilariously bad I'll laugh at it, if it's good I'll enjoy it, normally each episode is a mix of both. I'm not however expecting anything to be good anymore. Which is a shame.
@dommoore6180 series 6 and especially 8 are way better than this mid ahh season with like 2 proper stand outs. Compared to Heaven Sent, Mummy on the Orient Express, Death in Heaven, Girl who waited etc etc are way way better
@@Luna-pk7gz Well you clearly really like Moffat's era and that's cool. I don't I think those two seasons are really, really bad. Hey what can you do. It's all subjective.
When it comes to representation of trans people I'd just rather they just forgo it than do a poor job of it becuase it doesn't help normalize us it just calls attention to us and invites bad faith arguments from the anti-woke crowd. Obviously, people aren't going to start being transphobic because it was in a cringe episode of Doctor Who, but it just adds to the pile of hatefilled comments surrounding this series that means so much to me.
This season was about on par with series 2 for me. A few good episodes, but overall disappointing. But it was incredible to watch after 3 seasons of below mediocrity
I'm glad that it's called season 1. It means that Doctor Who ended with Whittaker. This new series is for the LGBT+ community and wants to alienate the rest of the fanbase.
Id say: Star Beast 3/10 Wild Blue Yonder 8/10 The Giggle 7/10 Space Babies 2/10 Devil's Chord 6/10 Boom 7/10 73 Yards 5/10 Dot and Bubble 7/10 Rogue 5/10 The Legend of Ruby Sunday 7/10 Empire of Death 4/10
My friend is watching DW who for the first time (starting from 2005) and one of the first things she said that she was happily surprised by how progressive it is, compared to most shows which always have at least a few jokes that haven't aged well. And considering how much has changed in 20 years, I bet it was a woke then as it is now (albeit we didn't have that word for it).
Ten and Donna are the only Doctor and companion and showrunner I actively dislike (in terms of the fictional characters, not personally, of course!). And RTD's writing for Who really isn't for me. So I skipped the specials. From what I've read about the eps, I made the right call. I thought I'd give Ncuti's episodes a go, though. I can still watch series one (2005), so I thought maybe it was just the combo of Ten and RTD that brought out the worst in his writing. But sadly, that wasn't the case. Because things are just as bad here. Ncuti seems to be doing what he can to make his Doctor even a tiny bit Doctory, but RTD is giving him nothing. Likewise, Millie is clearly trying to give Ruby some kind of personality beyond "northern." But they can both only do so much. If I was doing a tier thing, Church; Babies; Book and Rogue were watchable. Chord, Yard, Dot and Legend were varying degrees of bad/lazy/insulting. And Empire of Death was the absolute nadir.
I agree with most of your rankings, but I do gotta point out that it's a bit of a double standard to be very critical on the 14th Doctor Specials and their delivery on "Woke" messages, and you turn around and praise Jinx's performance and visuals. (Seriously, floating CGI Music Notes detract any weight this episode has on making Maestro menacing. Apocalyptic London and all)
I’ll save you time it’s absolutely rubbish chutty gatwa is miscast as dr who and it’s nothing to do with race or sexuality it’s the fact he cry’s in almost every episode all that money splashed up a wall and it’s just ruined my once favourite tv show and as much as you still enjoy the show you don’t fan boy over every bit of rtd s writing which has been lacking as a reboot to the show
My thoughts (apologies for the length): . The Star Beast; Too rushed and as an episode it's honestly just good, BUT it's elevated exponentially by its placement; it's EXACTLY what the show needed after the Chibnall era. It has the same feeling of an old friend finally getting over a rough patch and being their old self again. . Wild Blue Yonder; Yes, the cold open is... a choice, but frankly I'll let it slide because I absolutely love EVERYTHING else about this episode. The direction, the cinematography, the concepts, the pacing, the tension, the dialogue, the acting etc are all fantastic. Wilf's beautiful return at the end is just the cherry on top of this masterful piece of Doctor Who. . The Giggle; Needed 10 more minutes at the end and the 14th Doctor being more or less permanently on Earth for the foreseeable future opens a huge can of worms for all big scale present day Earth episodes (although I subscribe to the theory that Donna's classic 'missing every major alien invasion' thing has spread to 14 given he's now family), but otherwise this is exciting, emotional, seriously creepy at points, beautifully acted, Neil Patrick Harris is phenomenal, Ncuti Gatwa makes a killer first impression, the resolution is perfect and while like I said I have issues with 14's ending it's still incredibly wholesome and satisfying (fun fact; the novelisation of the episode revealed that the house you see 14 and the Noble family at is 14'S HOUSE!!!). . The Church on Ruby Road; It's fine. I'm VERY mixed on the whole fantasy/fairytale musical vibe, Ruby makes for an odd first impression as her dialogue/acting doesn't feel very natural, but on the flip side Ncuti is legit great full of energy and life while still bringing the emotion when needed. I don't have much else to say, as like I said earlier it's just fine. . Space Babies; While I was watching this I kept thinking 'What the fuck is this???' and at the end thought it was the most stupid episode of the show ever. That said, while I DO still think that overall as time's gone on I've realised that it's the actually pretty decent parts I remember. I like the butterfly effect joke (despite Ncuti's dialogue explaining the TARDIS and everything feels so unnatural), I like the set design, Ncuti and Millie are both really good, the nanny lady is really good, the actual concept of the babies is pretty fun, the reason why the babies are where they are is interesting and the scene where the boogeyman is saved is admittedly pretty well done and in character for the Doctor. While I still don't think it's a great, or anywhere near good or even decent, episode I DO think there's some stuff among the stupidity that's worth praising. . The Devil's Chord; I'll be brief on this one; Maestro is a brilliant villain, there are some great scenes like the Doctor and Ruby hiding from Maestro in that cellar and Ruby being shown the future, the Beatles are wasted, everything else is again just fine. . Boom; Now onto the good shit. During Moffat's era I started to think that he would either give you a 10/10 banger (like he did with every episode he wrote during RTD Era 1) or one 10/10 story drowned out by six at best 5/10 slops of mediocrity (like he did for pretty much his entire era as showrunner) and that he was a better writer when he could just write, refine and perfect just one or two episodes a year. Boom proved my point. An utterly gripping, tension filled experience with deft writing, fast flowing dialogue, powerhouse acting and sizzling direction where shit just gets worse and worse and worse till the ending. Welcome back Steven Moffat. . 73 Yards; Every few years, Doctor Who gives us an episode that you just know is gonna be talked about for years and years. Heaven Sent for example. For me personally, 73 Yards is one of those episodes. This is my favourite episode of RTD Era 2 and possibly one of my top ten episodes of Modern Doctor Who. I love absolutely everything about this. Everything. Literally every single thing. Moving on. . Dot and Bubble; On first viewing this is a good episode. After you've watched it and you realise the racism undertones surrounding the lead and her friends that are sprinkled throughout, it becomes legitimately great. RTD showing Chibnall how to add social commentary in a compelling way, love to see it. Man, Season 1/Series 14 has turned it around with three fantastic episodes in a row let's hope it keeps it up... . Rogue; *Deep exhale* In the complete opposite to Space Babies, my opinion on this episode has gotten worse with time going from 'heavily flawed but fine' to 'OMG literally everything about this is dogshit'. I hate the writing (Ruby constantly spewing "This is so Bridgerton" is just... WE GET IT YOU'RE TAKING INSPIRATION FROM BRIDGERTON!!!), I hate how it's shot, I hate the editing, I hate the cringe as hell villains, I hate the goofy tone and I hate the Doctor/Rogue romance. Not only is it so rushed and forced (comparisons to Madame De Pompadour and Astrid are irrelevant because Miss Pompadour and the Doctor had known each other for years due to timey-wimey shenanigans and I never saw the Doctor and Astrid as romantic but more something like the Doctor seeing that spark and potential in her that he sees in most of his companions but that's just me), but the fact that it's the lynchpin of the episode's finale makes it even worse; the emotional impact of Rogue effectively sacrificing himself is entirely dependent on how invested you are in the romance, BUT because it's so rushed and forced I'm not invested at all and so both the romance and the finale fall flat for me. If this had been a two parter MAYBE it could've worked better for me, but as is it's an utterly failed attempt at romance in an episode that also fails at basically everything else. Trash. . The Legend of Ruby Sunday; Classic RTD finale first part with a lot of setup and world building with some interesting character beats and good tension. BUT then it's revealed that Susan Triad has 'dreams' of her 'other selves' and the whole episode flips and becomes one of the most intense build-ups I've ever experienced in Doctor Who leading to THAT spectacular Sutekh reveal and cliffhanger. Absolutely exhilarating first part. . Empire of Death; Yes, Sutekh's plan is ludicrous and opens a lot of holes. Yes, how Sutekh is defeated is another big RTD flavour deus ex machina. Yes, Ruby's mum is a nobody. But, most importantly, I don't care. Sutekh's plan IS ludicrous BUT I admire its audacity and just how fucking committed the dude was (another fun fact; Sutekh latching onto the TARDIS is an idea RTD had since he watched 'Pyramids of Mars' as a kid). How Sutekh is beaten weirdly works for me because frankly given how much he'd fucked everything you NEEDED a big deus ex machina to stop him. RTD loved his crazy level threats and deus ex machina resolutions in his OG era and I kinda love that he hasn't changed. And lastly, Ruby's mum being a nobody works because no matter what revelation RTD have us SOMEONE would be pissed off and I liked the commentary on fan theories (also Ruby's gonna be in the next Season and RTD has confirmed her family story ain't done yet and we've yet to find out about her dad so personally I'd wager that HE'S gonna get the big WTF reveal we were expecting from her mum). But even ignoring all of that, I thought this was a satisfying and fun finale with epic scale and a delicious feeling of hopelessness. Overall this was a VERY inconsistent Season, but the one two three punch of Boom, 73 Yards (my beloved) and Dot and Bubble as well as the strong two part finale and Ncuti and Millie's brilliant performances elevate it significantly and (even as someone who didn't completely hate the Chibnall era) I can safely say that Doctor Who is back. Or at the very least, the show is definitely getting there and I look forward to the show's imminent future. Episode Ranking: 1. 73 Yards. 2. Wild Blue Yonder. 3. Boom. 4. The Giggle. 5. The Legend of Ruby Sunday. 6. The Star Beast. 7. Empire of Death. 8. Dot and Bubble. 9. The Devil's Chord. 10. The Church on Ruby Road. 11. Space Babies. 12. Rogue.

The problem with Ncuti's doctor is that he isn't in half the episodes, so it is really another "Clara who" or now-ish "Ruby's mom who"
I KNEW Bowlestreck would rear his ugly head in that montage
No comment about Bowlestreck is complete without the word "rear".
"BTEC Captain Jack"
Okay, you win the Internet with that one.
He didn't mention jodies' companions because they did not have a bad ending. They were at home at the end.
In defense of the Doctor scaring the babies I enjoy when he’s a bit abrasive and rude. I’d put it with him mocking the UNIT Time Window.
I didn’t need an explanation for 73 yards, I was fine with it just being a creepy magical mystery. Only perfect episode of the season for me
My favourite too. Shot in my hometown.
Agreed. I often wonder what the people who want an explanation think about Midnight.
21:33 Babe, sugar, sweetheart, sugar, darling, sweetheart... P-P-Pizzaaaa!
Great video!
big big love!! thank you!
37:17 Confirmed: Sutekh was curious who Ruby's mum was because he wanted to know who gave birth to an never-aging immortal being
RTD2 era just feels like that "whats up fellow kids" meme. he's trying too hard and there's something artifical or less earnest about it. i suspect some corpo meddling too.
but then, what do i know? i dropped out around Capaldi era while getting pretty tired around late Smith era so :/
I fatigued at the same time as you.
45:01
AND an episode named after him-
honestly, compare Series 14’s Rogue to Towrchwood’s Episode 12 Captain Jack Harkness. They are eerily similar
YES I AM SO GLAD I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT THIS!!!!!!
HEY! I am so glad you’ve posted can’t wait for season 2
Finally , congratulations on the new video definitely worth the wait. :)
Hope you enjoyed it!
@ of course :)
3:41 Danny please please do a reaction to reapers doctor who shit videos please
dot and bubble was so well done
2:05 Nah fr that shit is so annoying. Anyways I think the Christmas special will be great.
Brilliant as always and I 100% agree on the Rogue episode being awful and Rogue being a Captain Jack if you ordered him from Wish.
Good review as always and definitely worth the wait.
maybe the ending was a bit of a letdown but i thought the giggle was so much fun love it so much
Your Susan Twist reactions are so on point it was me every time I saw her 😭
Anyone else’s speakers popping 57:59 on am I hearing noises again
Yeah that's the video... oopsies :3
Im very glad this isnt just a compilation
Bro this landed at the perfect time im ill asf rn i cant wait to watch all this series back
Get well soon and hope you enjoy!
I think I really enjoyed this series coming off the previous era. It was a major step up in quality. That said, its not anywhere near the heights of the series, with some fairly large issues showing up throughout. I'd say its alright, and as long as it keeps improving I think we're in a good place
22:49 he's not immortal because he never opened the chameleon arch
i actually really enjoy these vids btw
Been waiting for this since you announced on the community post
RTD just happened to see the 1984 Dune while filming and had to recreate the opening for the 60th, that's my theory. Great video!
15:01 My reaction exactly the same.
At 62 I really should know better.......
54:38 LMAO
YES MATE! 😁
I've been looking forward to this.
Made my day!
You also seem like a really cool guy, so big respect and appreciation to you dude.
Keep up the great work.
Thank you :D
I can’t wait to watch this when I finally get to the new seasons, I’m still in Chibnal right now, it’s killing me 💀
Agree with 98% of this. Loved it. GREAT video.
The woke montage absolutely killed me, class video!
I thought RTD's comments on Davros being ableist made a little sense in terms of his scarring, which was meant to make him look unsettling.
The wheelchair tho? Kinda neither here nor there.
Perfect! I have to stay in tomorrow having panelling done..... I'll watch this 😁❤
6:28 I thought my PC was glitching because that's my desktop background
I live by the Actual Church on Ruby Rd & the UNIT bit in 73 yards is my hometown..... I doubt anyone cares but I'm proud of it 😂🏴
73 Yards was great IMO reminded me of a SCP entry
23:17 banger edit lmao
Idk how people defend 73 Yards unless they stop watching once it becomes a political commentary about the Welsh man who wants to nuke the world. Also the fact the cycle stops means that he still becomes PM and he still verbally and physically abuses his gf and the fact that Ruby's justification for not intervening sooner is to use the strange power of hers to scare the pm felt entirely gross. As someone who was formerly in an abusive relationahip, it unnerved me.
Your presentation and your dialogue is what makes these videos lol. Like Damm right just saying it how it is 👏🏻 keep them.coming man bravo
Thank you thank you!
ZOINKS IS THAT EMERALD SATURDAY AND THE DENTIST
I watched each individual ranking of all the eras as well as the mega compilation multiple times. Time to catch up with this one
Hope you enjoy!
WOAH WHERE DID THIS COME FROM
Been waiting for this!
Mid season that ends in a kick in the balls hopefully it gets better but i doubt it. My excitement was killed after this season.
I’d love to see someone miserable for the 15th doctor to bounce off I feel like Ruby is a bit too excitable but maybe I’m just miserable
Time for the classics
As a trans and gay person!
The diversity and equality attempts were cringey and very blatant
Yeah, I feel like they wrote this to please HR rather than the actual people they’re supposedly representing. I don’t understand why we can’t get gay characters like captain jack in modern Who. Captain Jack never went “hey people, I’m captain Jack, pronouns he/him, I’m also out & proud!” Nah he was just like “you have an excellent bottom too, sir” and we all fell in love with him
Amazing video as always
When the trailer for season 1 came out and there was that frame of Ncuti Gatwa standing next to David Tennant’s face I thought this was going to be a scene where Rouge (who I thought would be Captain Jack) would recognise that face and then they’d realise who each other were but I think all in all the episode was ok
You’re 100% right about Rogue and you should say it
I feel like it’s pretty clear the only reason bi generation was possible was because of the toy maker
when torchwood review coming out 😊
i love doctor who!!
Who's your favourite Doctor? Mine's Peter Cushing!!
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO 🎉
9:25 how does Donna know the Doctor was a woman?
BIG UPS LETS GOOOOOO BEST CHANNEL EVER
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm sat.
😴😴😴😴😴😴
ngl disney ruined this whole series for me, its so cringe and just feels so wrong
TUNA MADRAS
Id say:
Star Beast 3/10
Wild Blue Yonder 8/10
The Giggle 7/10
Space Babies 2/10
Devil's Chord 6/10
Boom 7/10
73 Yards 5/10
Dot and Bubble 7/10
Rogue 5/10
The Legend of Ruby Sunday 7/10
Empire of Death 4/10
all F tier?
Doctors whos
Yous. Yous are Doctor whos.
Its utterly impossible to find good faith criticism of this show, desperately hoping this video isnt full of "gay bad, WOKE!!!" BS
Well…. Were you pleasantly surprised?
Is funny that those anti-wokers complains about things that the show did before years ago.
Is the same chessy RTD.
@@Tnya099 dr who has some jokes like that in the earlier seasons of the reboot
Apocalyptic London and all)
What's praising someone's performance got to do with being woke? lol
I feel like everyone just kind of missed the point of the Ruby's Mother Storyline tbh. Kind of a shame.
No we get it. Doesn't make it good though.
@ It’s acc very good when you look at the meaning behind it. I think a lot of ppl were just disappointed that it wasn’t a big fan service character.
@@thetimeshadow6769 I was disappointed that it was nothing and also incoherent.
When the show leads the fans to think that way then of course it's going to be disappointing.
I mean it is very woke.
😴😴😴
I’ll save you time it’s absolutely rubbish chutty gatwa is miscast as dr who and it’s nothing to do with race or sexuality it’s the fact he cry’s in almost every episode all that money splashed up a wall and it’s just ruined my once favourite tv show and as much as you still enjoy the show you don’t fan boy over every bit of rtd s writing which has been lacking as a reboot to the show
you're defiantly about 8 years old
@ I’ve watched dr who since the seventy’s it’s a shadow of its former self
My thoughts (apologies for the length):
