- This week, we take you back to our garden to show you what it looks like in the end of summer / beginning of autumn. At this time of the year, we have a great number of lilies and phloxes in bloom, as well as lots of berries. People who visit us right now, in the middle of september, are very surprised to see that our garden is still very much in bloom. Since everything bloms later here and lasts longer, we expect to till have a beautiful carpet of flowers when the first frost start arriving, in the end of October.

Who are we:
Scandinavians Arne Nerjordet and Carlos Zachrison are highly regarded designers, textile artists and authors. They are best known for their craft books and their original, colourful and visually striking designs. Their work is highly influenced by their Scandinavian background and their everyday life in rural Norway. They work under their artist name ARNE & CARLOS, which they established in 2002.
We publish a weekly, new tutorial every Sunday on both our UA-cam channel and our Facebook page. We hope you enjoy it!

So pretty and peaceful! Butterflies and birds will come when you do not use pesticides. I stoped my neighbors from using pesticides. The benefits are so great when a safe shelter is provided for plant and wildlife!
It is very important to all do our part!

Beautiful garden, thank you so much for sharing it with us. The fluffy yellow plant flopping into the water is Alchemilla mollis or commonly called Lady's mantle in the UK.

The yellow button shaped flower is Tansy a herb here in USA, in colonial times it was planted near the kitchen door as it was said to repel ants and flies! The flower trailing into the water is also an herb called Lady's Mantle used to treat " Lady Troubles". I garden exacting the way you do! It's so fun to see what " volunteers" come up in the spring, that's what we call the self sowers!

Love the blue/periwinkle columbine! It is the state flower where I live in Colorado.

The plant growing down near the lake is called Lady's Mantle in English. I have been growing that for years and love the chartreuse color flowers. The "Muppet" flower is called Monarda or Bee Balm and is native to North America. Your garden is SO beautiful and peaceful. A lovely retreat from the busy world. Just need a cup of tea!

Yes Arne, a day lily so beautiful Arne and Carlos! Only Arne and Carlos could grow gorgeous beautiful weeds in the midst of their flower garden! Like the talented gifted knitters, cooks, carpenters, gardeners, etc. you both are, there is nothing you can’t accomplish, even your new studio looks amazing! Your Veronica must be related to our “butterfly bush” here in the States (Memphis Tn/southeast region)... both attract many beautiful butterflies, 🐝 bumble bees:) I am going to have to plant some delphiniums and columbines! Just beautiful perennials, okay Arne thank you for sharing / to take the seedlings from the blooms and throw them back into garden to help regenerate more plants, thx! Thank you again ... I really love the way you encourage all plants, cultured and wild, to live together in your wonderful home. I have poppies in my little space here in the U.K. and my gardening neighbour told me they were weeds but I love them and I won’t disturb them. Your sculpture is amazing and it is fabulous to think of all the insects finding a home. I do love the look of your workshop, it is going to be amazing once it is finished.
