For anyone confused about why the music slows down is because the fighting that Steven does that is controlled by the Player contradicts a lot against the song with how Steven is trying to spare Spinel and have her change. I think it is just that the choices are supposed to feel meaningless or lead to that certain outcome for the average mindset of how anyone will feel until they want to resort violence and fight as the last option or something or just to give more of an option to give a more different take of how Steven could have reacted.
