Looks like a great bit of kit ! Can do without the RGB on it of course (haters gonna hate) but if its anything like its USB cousin then its gonna be a great performer. Great Review Mike !! how good is the recording software, formats for video etc.. can we capture HDTV eg. sitcoms, movies via set top box? the card looks very nice.
I tried recording some gameplay in adrenaline at low quality and i got some ugly stutters. I have ryzen 5600 and rx 7800xt with 32 gb 3200 cl 16 ram. Is this six-core cpu maybe too weak?

That's something I absolutly like to have but absolutly no real needs for it 🙄
It is very much a luxury purchase unless you stream for a living or have a real healthy bank account and passion for gaming

try using the avermedia software, or in obs adjust the rendering speed / bitrates
I have an asrock steel legend b450m board, is it compatible?
depending on the CPU you are using the bottom slot should be okay as it is an X4 slot
