Japanese people are kind of loud on TV. Men shout, and women sort of shriek, but in real life, the streets, stores and restaurants are fairly quiet. Even karaoke requires booking a private room. I loved living in Japan.

“And again Colleen you are my boss!” Lol. This reminds me of my old boss Diane. After every employee evaluation at the bank she’d give me a huge hug & say, “I love you Matthew”. She was an older woman though & it was very sweet & maternal, unlike “Colleen”. Ha. She never wanted us to feel bad after our reviews. Aw, I miss that job! 💚

Elena Panova I feel your pain! I was actually transferred to that bank branch (with Diane) because my previous manager was harassing me so much. I’ve had an older, male manager who sexually harassed me, one who verbally harassed, degraded & slapped me for “screwing up”, one who took advantage of my kindness & chose to take out her anger at others on me & non-stop bullied & insulted me, and another who (and I’m a liberal Democrat here, not throwing myself a pity party, but) flat out told me, “I hate you white people” (she was Latina) & was so mean to me. She also had a pill problem though & showed up to work high a lot (which were some of the only times she’d be “nice”). 🤷🏼♂️ I had a therapist once who told me that bullies seek out nice people because they’re easy targets. Diane though was my first & only nice boss. Everyone at that bank was so diverse (between us we spoke 3 languages, were Christian, Muslim, Hindu, black, white, Indian, Latino, young to old, gay, lesbian & straight) but we all got along SO well. I still miss that job it was like having a second “work family”. Good luck to you though. 😉

Elena Panova Thank you! I see what you mean about power/authority but I think when good people are given it they often use it for good. Aside from Diane (the nice boss) when I worked at another job I was an assistant manager. My boss (the manager) was the one who took her anger out on me & constantly insulted me but I never mistreated the people who were under me. It was retail too so I was over a lot of people but they all loved me. I was the “favorite” manager. Probably almost to the other extreme because I was *so* nice sometimes they felt like they could (and would) take advantage of my kindness. I swear, why can’t more people in the world just be nice? 🤷🏼♂️ 🙂 ✌🏼

YoLo Videos bowen didn’t replace her, at least not in a competitive way. her contract ended and she moved on to bigger and better things. he was promoted into the open spot. within the last couple years, tons of my faves left! bobby, sasheer, vanessa, leslie, taran, jay, mike o brien!! i mean come on that’s practically the half the cast.

I know Hader isn’t a cast member any more, but Stefan needs to be featured as a recurring guest… or even a full episode with “Stefan” as host (Hader playing Stefan, with Stefan playing other characters in skits).
For some reason Steffon is making me think of back in the good ol days, when Damon Wayans and David Alan Grier used to play those two gay movie critics "Antoine and Blaine" on In Living Color. I can definitely see Steffon sitting in between them. 😂

Lol aw... I love Valentines though. When I was a kid my mom made it special. We’d go to sleep & wake up on Valentine’s Day to find a box of chocolates, a card & sometimes a stuffed animal or little gifts. She’d also use her lipstick to write on our bathroom mirrors, “We love you son.” Or something similar. I started making her valentines too (with glitter/construction paper) & if I didn’t fall asleep first I’d sneak into my parents room & leave it on her nightstand. I’m 33 now & happily married, but still remember to wish my mom a “Happy Valentines Day” every year. Yes as Kennan says, it’s for “lovers” (hate that word lmao) but it’s always nice to show some extra love to those around you. I love this SNL music video by the way. 😂
That’s a really sweet memory...thank you! I have similar ones with my mom throughout the years. Her name was Rose, so, of course, almost every fancy card I made her were decorated with drawings of roses and glitter and dried, pressed flowers! She saved them all in a beautiful box, and I have them now. Even at 18 years old, my daughter still makes gorgeous homemade cards with lovely sentiments inside, for me! It’s just one more way to say, “I love you”!!

A year later, now that I understand that the premise of Stefon is that not only are the clubs weird, but Bill Hader isn't necessarily told everything Stefon's going to say ahead of time and so it's the first time he's seeing some of it, we have now made history: this is the first time Stefon ever made me laugh.

They always changed the cards on him before filming live so he didn't know what was coming, that was the goof to see how bad they could get him to crack up. It was one of my top five favorite bits ever on SNL. miss those days!!! Hader is a national treasure!!

The fact that Bill Hader has to cover his face half of every Stefon sketch shows how amazing it is. Also the reason he laughs so hard is because the queue cards for Stefon are always completely random and Bill doesn’t see them till their live 😂

I would love flowers in my house, but if they were planted in soil and alive, that would be perfect. Except he would have to tend them. I can keep kids and animals alive, but I am the angel of death to plants, even my tomatoes split, and my jalapenos turned red and rotted while they were still the size of a baby's finger. I think I got two batches of salsa before I gave up. Ideally, there would be flowers delivered to my house every week. Favorite colors: purple, orchid, lavender, pink. Red roses are nice too. Ease up on the yellow and peach. I have beautiful vases, so don't get suckered into the standard florist crap. Buy the chocolates from a good chocolatier, not the florist. As you can see, I don't ask for much.
Hey, I stay up until three am to bid on auctions for my husband's car model collection. I understand being selective and a bit obsessed. If I didn't think I would kill it, I would love a fifty-year-old miniature bonsai tree.
