Hi Ron, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! I completely agree that the power of God’s Word isn’t in the medium-whether it’s on paper, a screen, or spoken aloud. The Word is alive and active, and as you rightly said, “faith comes by hearing.” That being said, my comment was less about the medium itself and more about the experience. I think there’s something unique about holding a physical Bible-a sense of reverence that can sometimes be lost when we’re using the same device for social media or games. It’s not about one being “better” than the other, but about finding ways to eliminate distractions and stay focused on God’s presence. At Assemble Church, we often encourage a dual approach: apps for their incredible functionality (I have several myself!) and paper Bibles for those quieter moments of undistracted study. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that we’re consistently engaging with the Word, however that looks for each of us. I appreciate your passion for God’s Word and the way you’re using every tool to grow deeper in faith. God bless you, mate! 😊
