I grew up on Hondas and owned every cc of SL they made but have been ridding Harleys for 15 years but still had the Honda bug so I bought a 1997 XR650l and restored it from the ground up and absolutely love it!! Now the Harley sits .
Had a Yamaha mini enduro...but I just got taller and it got smaller. Loved the SL 70 and the whole SL line. They were beautiful. Some youngster is gonna love it.
Beautiful rebuild. Always loved the classic look. This little thing is very cute. If your child took care of it. Be a great trial rider. Wouldn't want to thrash an antique.
Man, i really wanted an SL70 back in the day. What i got in 1972 was an LT2 100 Yamaha. The green one. I was so ecstatic, a motorcycle! But it wasn't a Honda SL70, a 4 stroke. I wanted a 4 stroke because 4 strokes ruled flat track. But, I'll tell you, that Yamaha would absolutely destroy the Honda 70 out in the desert. I was really happy that I got the Yamaha. The Honda 70 was still a great bike.
This SL-70 is simply astounding. Throughout the video I could not stop just shaking my head in amazement at the details AND I couldn't help get a tear in my eye! I lusted after an Aquarius Blue SL-70 as a tween in 1972 as I rode a little Deltek. Even though years later I went on to buy and ride bigger and more imposing bikes I never scratched that SL-70 itch. A multitude of memories and emotions well up in me as I watch this video. I'd pay any price to acquire that bike but reading through the comments here I find it is by auction. If I was in America instead of Sydney Australia I'd be there with bells on. The person who gets this incredible machine will be one fortunate soul. Well done on the impeccable restoration and thanks for the video If I was you I truly wouldn't be able to bring myself to sell it, ever! P.S. I was looking forward to seeing it on the road as you mention in the vid - what happened to that part?
Hi, the Honda is on an auction site called "Bring a Trailer" and you can bid from anywhere, I would just have to ship you the bike. Auctions go for a little over a week and it's all online. As far as other videos of you look at my channel you will see the other videos as well as a few other bikes I've refreshed/refurbished/restored.
How fast is it? Would it be okay for somebody that is just starting out with his license? Would it be a good bike to commute between Tampa and Orlando?
my first road bike 2 years before I was technically allowed on the road, in Australia it was the roadgoing version of the xr75, which was my first dirt bike. seem to remember the cylinder head was more upright on mine?
I started with a QA-50, then Z-50 to SL-100,SL-175,CB-175,XR-75,SL-350, YZ-80,two different CT-70s, Yamaha 175, Yamaha IT-400,Suzuki TS250, Honda-250Xfourtrax,then year’s later1975 Harley FLH, and i now have a 2001 Harley Dyna wide glide, a 2022 Honda Z125 Monkey, 1997 XR650Land a 1870 CT70 being restored and that’s all so far.
Thats what i call a proper made bike made in japan if only they could go back to these beautifully krafted machines when bikes were proper hardware that people got value for money these bikes would last a long time better than these days when people do not appreciate and if only they could go back and appreciate these specially made japanese honda,s from the 70s was fun and exiting times that were built to last

My first bike. Same color. Oh, the adventures I had!
I had one, same color when I was a kid. Couldn't kill it.

It looks absolutely beautiful , what a beauty, amazing job.
I looked at that bike so much in advertisements in my youth !
So did I! But I ended up getting the 71 Yamaha 90 enduro at 12yo and rode it all over the Arizona desert until I joined the Navy at 19.
@ Those were the days brother ….
Very nice 👍
