1948 Singer 201K - Tight Spot - Showing Fix

This 1948 Singer 201K came in for service and it has a problem where it has a tight spot when turning the hand wheel.
Tight spots in sewing machines can be difficult to track down but with a little knowledge, it can be easier to home in on the problem. I explain a procedure to help home in on the tight spot in this video.

This is great ! Excellent video. I have been searching for this problem but with a 15-30 I have was totally seized and finally got it moving but I have a tight spot also. Been cleaning and soaking and it is somewhat better, funny thing is putting the wheel backwards it is much easier. At first the handwheel would move outward like it was warped or something but not now and still binding. I will check the revolutions and look below where the raceway is even though I have the case and holder out. Did see a video where the wheel would stick in a place as the shaft was bent from dropping so the man took a hacksaw by the collar to cut some metal out which was binding. Strange how it looking warped at first but not now. Thanks again well done video !

I have here a singer 760, but the quadrant/finger gear was broken.. do you have a quadrant gear??? Dont now how to get that..
