Alex Roca lleva toda la vida rompiendo límites. El atleta, de 31 años, ha completado la Maratón de Barcelona y se ha convertido así en la primera persona con un 76% de discapacidad física en acabar la carrera de 42 kilómetros. Roca sufrió una encefalitis viral hepática a los seis meses que le provocó una parálisis cerebral. Lo que primero dijeron los médicos a sus padres fue que no iba a sobrevivir. Después, que quedaría en estado vegetativo. Así, desde pequeño, el atleta catalán, ha ido rompiendo esquemas y demostrando que las barreras sólo existen si uno mismo se las pone. “Mi propósito, al completar esta Maratón, es demostrar a todo el mundo que el límite está en la cabeza y que tú puedes conseguir todo lo que te propongas”.

Alex Roca has spent his whole life breaking limits. The 31-year-old athlete has completed the Barcelona Marathon and has thus become the first person with a 76% physical disability to finish the 42-kilometre race. Roca suffered viral hepatic encephalitis at six months that caused cerebral palsy. What the doctors first told his parents was that he was not going to survive.
