Technicolor TG582n Firmware Upgrade

Sometimes a firmware upgrade allows using a branded/locked down TG582n router with any ISP. This video shows the upgrade process.

+Jonas Amokacis There might be more information in the Event Logs section as to why the connection failed! If you can find it, it'll help diagnose the problem.
Other than that, one can only check the configuration again.
Sometimes ISPs use MAC address binding to only allow certain devices to connect and using another router involves either cloning the MAC address of allowed device or asking the ISP to bind the new mac address. You might confirm this from your ISP.

hi, when i select the firmware DANT-1 it show that is no compatible. What can i do?

Hello!
There are three versions of TG582n such that yours might not support DANT-1 firmware. Even if it is a DANT-1 variant, there can be restrictions on updating the firmware put on by the manufacturer for the ISP. Kindly, confirm the variant and ISP by logging into the router!

Thanks for your input! As far as QoS is concerned, it can be configured via the CLI using the reference guide: 1drv.ms/b/s!Av27A1CfPo_XqibsPkOGNQNahw_A
though it seems to be difficult to do so without an example:

Yes, using Windows 7 is recommended for updating firmware for TG582n. In the video, Windows 7 is being run on Windows 10 as a virtual machine using VirtualBox with bridged networking.

It can work on Windows 10 by using the compatibility troubleshooter (depending upon the build of win 10, the process varies) and by using the static IP address. It's just that Microsoft is rebuilding the networking stack for Win 10 and currently it seems to have a mind of its own.

Hi Ahmed, I have a Dant-T model with 10.2.6.B FW (Tiscali Provider). In your onedrive there are 2 firmware, speedtouch 10.2.0B and PN TG582n R10.2.2.9 DEMO 2012 08 10 1353.bin. What firmware i have to install?

The firmware 10.2.6.B seems to be newer than the ones available looking at the version string alone. However, the forum thread at www.hwupgrade.it/forum/showthread.php?t=2562978&page=7&styleid=15 should help by taking a look at the feedback from people using the different firmware versions.
