2024 Garden Spot - Fall Plowing

Welcome back to Farmboy59 UA-cam channel.
This video is some plowing with my 1959 McCormick Farmall 140 with double bottom plow.
Since all the rain has gone through over the past few weeks, today the land looked dry enough to get the plows digging.
The plows were hitting a good mark at or around 4-7 inches deep.
A lot of the residual plants were deteriorating as they should and now this helps even more.

Thanks. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do that so it really felt good to get in the old tractor seat again.
Your video was really good too and looks like you’re drying out nicely for plow day. Hate I’m going to miss it.

I’m jealous 😂. I messed with my single bottom last weekend and adjusted and moved and changed this and that and about half of what I plowed turned out like yours and the other half didn’t go in the ground but a few inches. I may need to take the subsoiler to it and try again. I try to leave a winter cover crop on everything but I’m using this small spot for a test plot on the plow. Yours were doing great

My single bottom was doing the same thing the last time used it, but after some adjustments it seems to be working fine now.
My double bottom works like a hero. It doesn’t seem to have any issues digging up the ground and making easy work of it.

The land was great, but was a little wet in some places. Mom’s doing great and thanks for the comment.
