I am so glad you tried you tried it and I am so glad SOMEBODY finally agrees with me. This hair even in the 8 inch mats and tangles almost over night it is beautiful but it is VERY HIGH MAINTENANCE. Beautiful but EXTREMELY HIGH MAINTENANCE!
All it needs is water. With this hair you have to install the right amount… too little the braids will show… too much it will tangle and matt. With this hair it really depends. So happy you got to try it 💗

Honesty is the best policy. I appreciate you keeping it real. Anyone feeling sensitive about it needs to suck it up. The hair does look good on camera. Still, if you're going to spend a lot of time on hair, it may as well be your own. Crochet hair should not be that tough to handle.
This is my fave and go to crochet hair. I have worn it as long as 6 weeks. I get sooo many compliments when I wear it. I usually do the 10” (cut 20” in half) or 14”. I brush it every night with a detangling brush, spray it with a little Wig Shine, put it up in a ponytail, and then put a bonnet on it. Have no issues with matting or tangles. I had the 20” before and didn’t like it. So sorry it didn’t work for you. 😕

I love this hair! I usually get 4-6 weeks out of it. I use a paddle brush and water to detangle with 4 large twist at night. This hair has been in the ocean and recovered. I sooo hate this did not work out for her!! I’m not taking it personal. I’m still subscribed 😂😂
Thank you for trying the hair. I have not been able to hide the knots when I've worn this hair, I thought you were gonna come on and give us some new insight. It takes a great picture as you well know but I had to keep combing thru it paddle brushing it and Nexxus clean foam moussing it. I didn't realize what you meant by low maintenance until I tried freetress presto curl, beach curl. Then I tried finding curls where no/low maintenance was sexy. I understand now. Thank you again

I was trying to hold out hope that the Kima ocean wave was going to work out for you. Kima Ocean wave is my go to, but I will say that I think it has been manufactured differently since I first started using the hair. I ‘m getting the hair put back in next week so I will see how it holds up. It did look beautiful on you when you first installed it though.
I’m wearing this hair as we speak. I have had it in for ten days I’m taking it out this weekend. I thought I did something wrong cuz mine is so tangled. I had trouble hiding knots and tried a leave out at the parting and non of that worked. Thanks again this is the second wave I’ve tried and it’s another fail. The hair on u looks beautiful .
Lol! I think the reason why the product advice was all over the place was because some people used products with alcohol in it while others didn’t. Alcohol FREE mousse and sprays (like Vigorol alcohol free mousse) work but the ones with alcohol will dry synthetic hair out and/or strip the coating off of it which then promotes tangling.
Got Kima’s ocean wave in as we speak had it in for 3 weeks an it’s doing great, I brush an twist up every night an put my pink silk bonnet on an so far so good 😊🙆🏽♀️🥰🥰🥰
I'm so glad you finally decided to try this hair. It is so beautiful and looks great but it is so high maintenance it's just not worth it. I don't mine some maintenance, but this hair keeps you constantly focused on trying to keep it looking good. The initial install is soft, but as it gets older and the mats and tangles set in; it does begin to feel much rougher. Thank you for a thoughtful and honest review. With that said, even with all the work needed, I'll probably install it again. 😎 Good Job!

Rotfl a brillo pad🤣 I agree wave hair is high maintenance you can't get away from it...I have the authentic ocean wave in right now it's high maintenance but I like the texture and it's soft so I had to knot it 4 times and use a flat iron on the knots to keep it from slipping. This was confirmation that I'm not crazy for taking this hair out after only about 7 days 🤣. It was beautiful on day 2 for my bridal shower, but now I'm over it. My knots are starting to show and my stylist installed it with really small pieces to prevent that and slippage but it's not giving what it's supposed to give anymore. Lol
You tried!🤷 Every hair is not for everyone. TFS your honest opinion! I buy the 20" Kima Ocean Wave and cut in half. I do the same for Freetress Niagara Curl which is Freetress' version of ocean wave hair. I have even washed my hair with it it, just put it in 8-10 twists and wash my hair and the crochet hair. I'm sorry you didn't like it but not disappointed in you or your channel over it. I like your content so you didn't lose me although I LOVE Kima Ocean Wave.😄
I tried Kima Ocean wave ONCE and it was high maintenance! It was installed at 12 inches and it was still too long for me so I think this hair best as a short style and will eventually try it again as short.
I have this hair sitting in my stack to try. I had it before and ended up installing it on my friend. Now I'm a little worried b/c I like to keep my hair in for an extended time if I can too.

Kima ripple deep is my favorite hair. I've worn it like 5 times. I tried kima ocean wave for the 2nd time and I only combed and twisted it up at night but I didn't like it as much as the ripple deep

Sorry it didn’t work for you. It’s my favorite hair and I’ve rocked it for 8 weeks once with no problem. For me Kima Ocean wave got better as the weeks went by. Especially after I washed it. It dried fast and was softer. This hair requires some maintenance such as twisting at night but for me it was worth it. I totally understand your stance. Keep doing what you’re doing, we are here for it❤️👍🏾

To be honest I used to see this hair in my bbs and I would pause to wonder do you buy this brand or nah…. It looks good on some people but I would give it a pass because of other brands that I favored more than others. I just bought and took out this hair after 1 week. I triple knotted the hair, and it still was coming loose or came out. I could run my fingers through the hair and pieces would come out. The curls are so cute, but the maintenance...😠

Once you put mousse and other wet products in the hair it will frizz! I had a quarter sized amount of blue magic and ran it through the hair once or twice a week and twisted up at night. It has lasted for 6 weeks. I even had a surgery and was on bed rest and it looked fantastic. Went to my post op follow up appointment and the medical assistant said wow your hair looks fantastic. My recommendation is to always stay away from wet products with synthetic hair!

So sorry this hair didn't work for you. Its actually my favorite go to hair. I typically keep it shoulder length. Every night I pin it up in four sections after combing it. Takes me about 5 mins tops. Around week 3 I will do a light oil spray and that's it. I will say that I do consider it my mild maintenance hair.
LOVE, Love, Love Ombre!!! Wish more of the crochet hair would get manufactured in (true) Ombre. Toyo Tress has a beautiful Ombre Blond. Chunky color not a favorite. I use tiny strands of color to mix with the base color on every install. Time consuming but worth it for me. Color emphasize and give more drama to the crochet hair
This was my first hair. I absolutely hated it !!! It’s too rough, tangly and super hot ! I’m def not twisting nothing and detangling nothing at night and in the morning. I’m trynna put on a bonnet and go to bed

I'm not even done watching the video and I knew it was a no. I had it in 8 inches and the tangles led me to take it out after 3 weeks. But their other short hair is decent.. I wish coco wave came in longer lengths

I like that hair and purchase that wave pattern from another brand. I make wigs of all my crochet hair and as a result no hair gives me an issue. I take the wigs off each night.
My mom said the same thing when she got it done. Do you have any recommendations to other brands that you have tried that lasted longer than the kima ocean wave that look similar ?

Agree…too much is challenging especially with the 20”. You have to have spacing between the loops.

Sorry it didn’t work for you. It’s my favorite hair and I’ve rocked it for 8 weeks once with no problem. For me Kima Ocean wave got better as the weeks went by. Especially after I washed it. It dried fast and was softer. This hair requires some maintenance such as twisting at night but for me it was worth it. I totally understand your stance. Keep doing what you’re doing, we are here for it❤️👍🏾

For some reason I enjoyed hearing you drag this hair, lol I’m so sorry you had a hard time with it though. I’ve never tried this hair because I have a feeling it’s not going to work for me. It looked really nice the first day though, the last day not so much.

To be honest I used to see this hair in my bbs and I would pause to wonder do you buy this brand or nah…. It looks good on some people but I would give it a pass because of other brands that I favored more than others. So at least you tried it out and it helps us to determine is it worth buying or find something else that works. Anywhoo great review can’t wait for the next one. 🔥🔥
I just bought and took out this hair after 1 week. I triple knotted the hair, and it still was coming loose or came out. I could run my fingers through the hair and pieces would come out. The curls are so cute, but the maintenance...😠

I'm with you girl the only hair I love from kima is the Ripple deep and soft dred..if you think the ocean wave is bad...try the kima soul wave🥴🥴😩😩 it was a matted mess! I'm kima Ripple deep & soft dred all day..love ya girl 🥰

Once you put mousse and other wet products in the hair it will frizz! I had a quarter sized amount of blue magic and ran it through the hair once or twice a week and twisted up at night. It has lasted for 6 weeks. I even had a surgery and was on bed rest and it looked fantastic. Went to my post op follow up appointment and the medical assistant said wow your hair looks fantastic. My recommendation is to always stay away from wet products with synthetic hair!

Possibly, but it would definitely have to be for a more wave style like this. Definitely styles would be hard to do with many of the hair I choose

So sorry this hair didn't work for you. Its actually my favorite go to hair. I typically keep it shoulder length. Every night I pin it up in four sections after combing it. Takes me about 5 mins tops. Around week 3 I will do a light oil spray and that's it. I will say that I do consider it my mild maintenance hair.
LOVE, Love, Love Ombre!!! Wish more of the crochet hair would get manufactured in (true) Ombre. Toyo Tress has a beautiful Ombre Blond. Chunky color not a favorite. I use tiny strands of color to mix with the base color on every install. Time consuming but worth it for me. Color emphasize and give more drama to the crochet hair
This and Ripple Deep are my favorites. Sorry it didn't work out for you. This hair definitely does better short.
This was my first hair. I absolutely hated it !!! It’s too rough, tangly and super hot ! I’m def not twisting nothing and detangling nothing at night and in the morning. I’m trynna put on a bonnet and go to bed

But their other short hair is decent.. I wish coco wave came in longer lengths

I like that hair and purchase that wave pattern from another brand. I make wigs of all my crochet hair and as a result no hair gives me an issue. I take the wigs off each night.
