A Jim-Silva-sans-Gauzy build?! I never thought I’d live to see that. I guess it took a windowless casting to pull off that feat. Nice job! Another great video.
No jeweller's saw. No JB Weld. No Gauzy. And still a fine looking custom! That's a neat little chassis by TimeRider. Sometimes less is more, Jim. Like in this case. Very nice result! 🍁👍
Thanks Jim! I like the look too and it also made life easier by keeping it lol (of course, an identical casting I have will be heading to the stripper lol)
This is the first ever lowered Bone Shaker I have seen put together, and it makes for an interesting and unique look (especially without the skull grill cover!). :) Great work on this Jim! :)
Yay a bone shaker! It’s been a while since you’ve done one of those bad boys. I’m glad you had fun with the build and the stance did come out great :) meaner but also cleaner 👌.
Hi Jim! You know how much I love Bone Shakers, so am really delighted with this build! The stance is fantastic...thank you for the link to chassis. I’m going to give it a try. And the redlines are wheels I’ve been dying to try on a Shaker custom. I assume the sizes you used are large rear and medium fronts? Again, fantastic build...thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks so much Jimmy! The file Lee created really makes the stance easy to achieve. Yes, I used large rear and medium front wheels from Brightvision on the build. I can't wait to see what you build because your work is exceptional!
Looks awesome!! This is one of my favorite castings and it's cool to see it as a redline. Always looking forward to your builds. How do you apply the Minwax?
Thanks Rudy! I should have described it a little better - the Minwax clear I use is a rattlecan spray - in this case, I tried something a little different that they make - a Polycrylic clear gloss that is water based that was recommended by another builder (Southpaw Diecast). I'm pretty happy with the results and will have to try it again because it's said not to yellow like their Polyurethane that I usually use.
Redline conversions are almost always welcome on Hotwheels. It's one of the greatest callbacks to the legendary toymakers heritage legacy. Unfortunately for me....the concept sorta fails for me on this build. I am a purist and love redlines. Dont get me wrong. But being a purist I also look at the idea Hot Wheels was going for when they made this particular livery. That means they utilized A newer wheel in their parts bin to supplement the Mooneyes feel. it really captures the "Moon Disc" wheel covers MoonEyes is known for. Something they created in 2018. But that's me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your build. It is perfectly executed. On Lee's design..... I sorts wish the radiator was a tad larger. Maybe it's because it is black? I dunno. Seems to me it should be flush with the top of the hood. The side pipes tho. Now that is pure Hot Wheels nostalgia. Remember the small pips that curved up like this on the early models? What a great look this is. Makes the stock version look stupid! Also funny to call a rat rod "stock". Just my 2 cents. Your mileage may vary.
While I understand your feeling that the original casting captured the Moon feel better than the redlines, given the number of Moon livery issues they're released with wheels other than the new design, I didn't even blink before changing them out lol. Maybe that's because I often find myself seeing a Hot Wheels casting with anything other than redlines as not quite a "true" Hot Wheels car. Everything I played with as a kid had redlines lol. About the base - if I remember correctly, Lee based his design on early Hot Wheels cars (I can't remember the exact casting off the top of my head, but I think the engine was one he created originally for a car he was restoring) so it truly is a throwback to the original HW designs, and the pipes really are fantastic!
Looks cool Jim, although you have been spoiling us lately with some more involved builds, so I feel jipped.....lol. Nice to do an easy one now and then.
Thanks Jamie! I'm old so I need to rest up before the more involved builds lol The next one up is a redline restomod that was also a little more relaxing/less stressful than the complex builds. No chopping involved lol
LOL you should Evan! I just took the stl file that Lee has on Thingverse, tapped the button to have the software add supports, and it printed like a charm. The design file is free and it probably used less than 25 cents of resin lol
Thanks! I think it would be interesting to fully detail the front end. Because of where I was going with the coloring of this build, I wanted it to be primarily black...but if the grill, lights and bezels, and so on were painted to bring out the detail, it could be really interesting.
can never go wrong with a shaker. love what you did to er
Thanks Neil!
It looks pretty sharp, your ability to show restraint from major alteration gave this project an awesome result!👍👊
Thanks Chip! It's not easy to keep some castings from going under the knife, but I managed it this time lololol

Nice job! Another great video.
🤣🤣🤣 I was looking around for something I could Gauzy on the build and came up empty 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks so much!
Looks great Jim! Love the stance and grill from Timerider. The redlines are a nice touch. It is just a nice clean custom
Thanks so much! I really wanted a clean look to it...and I'm glad you see that in the build.

Thanks Andrew! The chassis really made it easy to have some fun with the casting.
Stance is great Jim! Hard to beat that original livery, glad you used it. Black and yellow go together so well 👍😁
Thanks Jim! I like the look too and it also made life easier by keeping it lol (of course, an identical casting I have will be heading to the stripper lol)
Redlines always look great on any car. Lee did a great job on yhe base. I like the new grill. You did a great job my friend.
Thanks Andre!
It looks really cool, glad you had fun with it!
Thanks Lee! You're going to make a fortune off that file...what's that...oh yeah, it's free on Thingiverse lol.
Nice. love the idea of the bearing and use of the red line wheels. I wouldn’t mind doing the same to some of my customs.
Thanks Lindsay! Using the bearings and redlines (I got mine from Brightvision) really makes turning castings into redlines very easy.
I'm going to have to print out one of those bases. Thanks for providing the link and thanks to the designer of it.
You're going to have fun with it!
Jim wow man. It looks so much better. Great job friend!
Thanks Tim!
I love your commentary and explanation. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!
This is the first ever lowered Bone Shaker I have seen put together, and it makes for an interesting and unique look (especially without the skull grill cover!). :) Great work on this Jim! :)
Thanks Summer! It’s a really fun casting to work with.
Yay a bone shaker! It’s been a while since you’ve done one of those bad boys.
I’m glad you had fun with the build and the stance did come out great :) meaner but also cleaner 👌.
Thanks Daughter! I really enjoy doing that casting...and I have plans for one in the not too distant future (a month-ish or so)
Pipes are tight & wheels are banging. I think I’m alone not liking the skull on the boneshaker. Came out awesome.
Thanks Miguel! There are a lot of people that cheer when the skull is decapitated off the casting...others see it as a sin lol.
Man, that is pretty dang neat, Me. Jim!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Charles!
Hi Jim, I think as usual you did a great job I like the lower stance of the car and that you kept the original paint I think it’s great looking
Thanks Paula!

Love the build Jim!
Thanks Ron!
Vast improvement! Thank you
Thanks Brian!
awesome job on this one my friend
Thanks Matt!
Great job Jim 👍
Thanks Mark!
@@JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms you're welcome 😊
That makes two of us this week keeping the original paint lol. I may just have to do one of these sometime 🤔🤔
You must do one Don! I'm sure there's some law out there, written or otherwise, that requires you to put some spin on a Bone Shaker 🤣🤣🤣
I'm not big on the bone shakers, can't see past the T1000 grill lol, I really liked how this one came out though. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks! I think Bone Shakers are that way - either people really love them...or they really hate them 🤣🤣🤣
Nice job Mr. Silva✌️
Thank you!
Lowered. Redline boneshaker custom hot wheels. Okay ✅
Thanks Kenny!
Really like that looks great thanks for sharing
Thanks Chris!
bone shaker turned to road shaver. :) love the result, the new grille looks way better than that skull IMO. :)
Thanks Lothar!
Love it!! Looks super mean! 😎😎👊👊
Thanks!
😃😃😃😃. Looks great Jim
Thanks Charlie!

Hey as long as that skull is gone, i am happy....LOL...... looks way better buddy
LOLOLOL you're not the only one that feels that way Dan lol. Thanks!
Lowering that Boneshaker... Now it's a Nutshaker! Sorry! 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Loads better. I always thought that skull grille was really tacky
