My dad had Skoda cars all my childhood and youth! 120 L, 130 rapid, Favorit 136L, and later a Felicia 1.6 glx combi, and now an Octavia! The old rear-engined ones sounded wonderfull! I have so many memories with this brand!
@DiggermanNo1 And the funniest part is that after in WW2 germans stole many technologies from Czechs, from 1945-1989 Soviet Union stole it from Czechs again. From 1939 to 1989 occupied, and still they didnt broke the czechs inside ... now they have come back with Superb, skoda 15T trams, Tamara radar (hello stealth bombers) and many many other ... I hope we will see some nice machines and inovations.
@DiggermanNo1 Actually no, the Laurin Klement automobile factory caught on fire and they went into problems so they managed cooperation with "Škoda" (škoda works in english) which was factory for ammunition in Pilsen. That factory was named by its owner "Emil Škoda". So they took their name. By the way, Škoda ammunition factory was one of the things that Hitler needed to start world war, he desperetely wanted it. Many German tanks were made there.

Czechoslovakia had bunkers all over their borders and great military, but they never got the chance to fight than.

Many different models (as shown in this video) during that period are quite familiar to Aussies. Maybe we had a lot of Czech refugees at that time who wanted a good memory from their homeland.
