Yeah... Interdimensional/transdimensionel travel was introduced very early on in the comic series, originally to coincide with how the bonus levels worked in the game, but for one reason or another the writers really liked playing around with the concepts and the result, while giving us one or two kind of interesting storylines, eventually skewed the canon horribly. Basically the in-universe rules went from "fast and loose" to "basically nonexistent". Hell, about three years after this one, the so-called "Zone Cops" were introduced to try and regulate how things worked. Basically the equivalent of... what was it, Crisis on Infinite Earths? I take it for the Image crossover, people have already told you that in Sonic #8, the issue that had robot parodies of superheroes including Spawnmower (which Sonic said was striking a pose in every other panel) and this is ironic since the crossover has a panel of the Freedom Fighters talking to Spawn that is played totally straight.
Also in the same issue, Sonic meets Wolveri- err, I mean Urkel aka Jaleel White, the very same person who voice him in all 3 DiC animated shows (Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, SatAM and Sonic Underground). STRANGE, ISN'T IT?
11:25 I think I know the answers to your questions: the "In-Between Zone" is actually the Shadow world, and Sonic can pull the kids in with him because he has Persona powers.

It's kind of hard to watch the end song anymore. Not because its bad or anything, but this was back in TGWTG's prime. Watch that group, and now tell me just who is there now that ISN'T dead, not making videos anymore, left the site, left the site and burnt the bridges,or has just plain become an ahole to his fans or to the peeople who care about him. Its become less of a great video seeing everyone together, and just a sad memory of what used to be. I'm not the only one who feels this way, right?
You're not. It's too bad that a great group has been destroyed, but well, a lot of egos and bad management are guilty of it. For me, while Linkara, Snob an Lupa keep producing videos and being friends, the Internet is still okay.
While memories of my childhood are generally pretty vague, I imagine I'd freak out if Sonic's hands came through the TV screen and tried to pull me in to another reality...I mean sure, I'd also take any excuse not to go to school but when I was a kid it took me years to stop myself from being afraid of going down a water slide, I can't imagine kid me just instantly being ok with a blue hedgehog pulling me into my TV.
Robotnik's disintegration ray not killing Sonic makes a bit of sense. If you built a "disintegration ray", would you test the smoke and ash to make sure it was actually a disintegration ray? Furthermore, what if Sonic's consciousness was sent there but his body was destroyed due to whatever kind of actual ray it was? Robotnik wouldn't test for that even if he did test the compositional structure of the smoke and ash, because he's so obsessed with machines that he probably wouldn't even consider the possibility.
Awww Jesus... I remember when I discovered this thing. We can all blame Ken Penders for this train wreck. I was at SDCC before it was larger than life, you could still buy tickets on the day of the show, and the convention hall was divided into Golden Age, Silver Age, and modern comics as well as the 5 booths that had severely overpriced anime. Ken was always found manning the Archie Comic's Sonic-specific booth in Artists Alley. When he signed this thing for me he talked about how he really wanted to write a comic for his kid and niece. So Sonic Live! was born and he, as the attention whore that he is, spent the next half hour boring me to death about how HE had the idea, HE wrote it and even how HE took the photos. So he basically did a self insert comic but with his kid and another kid. They were thrilled, as every eight year old should be, that they were in a comic! Yay! But really, this was just the beginning of writer Pender's descent into madness. The Image Crossover mentioned is just another ego stroking, self insertion story where he pits his OWN characters from a failed comic that he both penned and drew against the strange world of Mobius and vice versa. The other character like The Maxx are in there but not so much as his Trinity-of-The-Matrix clone and her counterparts. So get ready to be horrified and disappointed again! In fact, when I go back to read the "classic" Sonic comics from the early 90s I fucking cringe. The writing is just as bad and I have to put my copy down after a few pages.
+Amy Tilly The dude had both the issue of overcomplicating the story and never having his ego reigned in. My favorite thing is that he's raising lawsuits to try and get Archie to stop using the characters introduced when he was penning the comic or something like that, as if he wrote such masterpieces he should be the only one allowed to use them (I even think he's trying to pen some series of his own with them as aliens to explain them being animals, "The Lara-Su Chronicles" or some crap). Current writer Ian Flynn and the staff had to work a universal reboot into the series during the Mega Man crossover just to throw off the baggage of Penders' characters and aborted plot lines/lore. I stopped evidently before the comic hit that point, but goddamn does he sound like a hack.
Well, the comic was good for something - Robotnik used the term "Insipid", and you chose t'use it later, so... expanding the vocabulary of the masses, one comic at a time! What a guy, that Robotnik. Such a hero.
Mobius is what Sonic's world in the games was called for the entire Classic Era, as the instruction books for the games said, and it was the name of it in a huge amount of alternate continuities of Sonic including the really obscure ones like the Sonic 1991 promotional comic for Sonic 1, and a French comic. So if the idea of it being " on planet Mobius " is boring, the Classic Sonic games should be boring too by that same logic. But thank you for admitting that the other two stories in this issue aren't bad.
20:30 It's not like Sonic 1 also has a debug code. And it essentially lets Sonic noclip through everything. And lets him spawn basically whatever he wants. And that code is Up C Down C Left C Right C. I will admit, the use of an actual Sonic 1 cheat code is very clever, but... The level select code? Really? Is that seriously the best they could come up with?
Linkara (Doing a Narrator Voice): "Dr. Robotnik will stop at nothing to attain his dreams of global domination." M. After 19:59 - 20:01 Sadly, it doesn't. At the "Sonic is a Cylon" part Or T.O.M. from Toonami. Over all, great hundred episode Linkara. X3
9:25 I'm super late to the party, but Robotnic as a villein doesn't prefer to kill. It's not his go too. He will if he has to, or if he super hates you, but he'd rather turn you into a robot. As for why not use helmets on the others... Sally is the resistance leader, so he might be counting on the helmet to demoralize the others for interrogation (he often did interrogations in odd ways like that). As for Tails, he always underestimated Tails in the early days (kid's 10 after all) and Tails was pretty useless until eating from the Tree of Wisdom anyways. Rotor tho... That's nuts. Rotor is the resistance cell's tech guy. Robotnic knows this.
17:14 I think it was meant to convey that this was a different universe thus different appearance since they changed from live action to cartoon earlier. Badly conveyed though. Especially since it’s supposed to be the live action universe.
Is that Angry Joe video still around, or has it been lost to the annals of time and the move from TGWTG to CA? ...I feel like I ask you this question a lot. Sorry. >_>
7:51 There exists two game consoles with a controller like that. I forgot the name of the first, but it was released around 1981 or 82, and its two controllers had half of a qwerty keyboard, which could be used as a full one by placing the controllers right next to each other, but otherwise aren't meant to be held like that. The other I know the name of, that being the Commodore Dynamic Total Vision, CDTV for short. Its controller was the same as an NES controller, but with remote controls in the middle and wireless capability to act as a remote for playing CDs, since the CDTV was meant to be a multimedia system like the Philips CDi. As far as I know, the remote functionality also wasn't used for any games, but the only game for the CDTV I've even heard of is The Town With No Name, a crappy western point and click... experience that only uses the D-Pad and A button, so I can't say for sure, though I could see some developers using them since there's only two face buttons. Not that it matters since I doubt there were Sonic games for either console (especially the one from the early 80's) and even if there were, most people don't own and likely never heard of either (which I assume you don't) no doubt including Penders himself, who other commenters said didn't even allow video games in his home and that's actually a remote.
You edited out a name and said Carly Simon instead, 21:00 , can you explain why that part is oddly edited because otherwise this just feels like you regretting an offensive joke that I do not understand.
Frankly, I found the edit was a lot better than Doug's Last Action Hero edits where he had to correct himself multiple times after mistaking Robert Prosky for Art Carney.
I guess I should learn how to pay attention to the credits lol...Living Illusion is very awesome, can't wait to listen through the rest of their stuff on SoundCloud!
Wait, the Sonic comics crossed over with frickin' Image!? How the hell does that work!? Even at his worst, Sonic's as far removed from that "edgy" garbage as it gets! Okay, MLP's further removed, but you get my point.

briansivley2001 Of course, don't you know anything about Science?
Love Atop the 4th Wall!
Love everyone singing the theme song at the end haha
Linkara (Doing a Narrator Voice): "Dr. Robotnik will stop at nothing to attain his dreams of global domination."
M. Bison (From the Street Fighters Movie): OF COURSE!

I'm sorry, I know you're not actually plan on doing that (Also, it's way too late to do that joke.), so I might as well.
Also @ 8:20 - 8:23, name of the TV Show for this references, please?
Between 10:02 - 10:04
Wait a minute! So two kids in the real world, are talking to a video game character... (Realizes something.) Oh my god, it's the Megaman OVA all over again!
(Note: Ironically, I only watch the first episode of the OVA in Japanese. So I might as well watch it again, along with the rest in English.)
Between 10:14 - 10:17
O_O ... CALL THE POLICE!!!
(Also, maybe Nintendo will might do the same idea... Only with Mario.)
Okay, I thought of an idea. Every time Linkara questions about the scientific stuff in the comic, play this clip.

Between 12:58 - 13:07
Our hero, ladies and gentlemen!
Between 16:06 - 16:13
And they seem to be doing a good job at it.
@ 18:17
And not only, the two creators look freaking characters from the Archie comic! (Which is what this comic is associated with...)
Between 18:18 - 18:23
What "Strange Creatures"? They're fucking human! You're a fucking human! We're ALL FUCKING HUMANS!
After 19:59 - 20:01
Sadly, it doesn't.
At the "Sonic is a Cylon" part
Or T.O.M. from Toonami.
Over all, great hundred episode Linkara. X3
7:58 - Isn't that kid just holding a remote control sideways?
He is. Penders, the guy who wrote this, didn't actually own a Genesis.
+THD And I guess he couldn't be bothered to go borrow a Genesis from his neighbor down the street.
Jonathan Szuhai Or just have the kids, what little we see of the living room, and the TV be drawn in rather than just photographed.
I think the ki in the picture at 8:00 is holding a tv remote sideways
sigh...I miss Spoony
That was a cool ending.
Welcome to “Atop the Fourth Wall”,
I mean the other robotniks could be both robots AND from other dimensions
Why did you NEVER use this opening again????? It's AWESOME!
Team Aonn, he used the hard rock version of his theme song for his 500th episode.
@@daelen.cclark And a _full_ version to boot.
Is that Angry Joe video still around, or has it been lost to the annals of time and the move from TGWTG to CA?
...I feel like I ask you this question a lot. Sorry. >_>
16:58 aka Daemon ex machina
12:24 Awesome I can listen to Richard Blade on First Wave!
8:32 I think it’s showing him sticking his hand through the TV from the other end.
Rock theme is badass! At4w theme sounds awesome and rock makes it awesome, so that's like 2 awesomes
But punk is nothing but death, and crime, and the rage of a beast!
@@ninakrishnamurthy6674 The RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE OF A BEAST!
Sonic is a Cylon is not a hot take I was prepared for.
You know the plot sounds like the live action movie sonic was supposed to have in the 90s yeah
Ken Penders can keep this part of the continuity.
jee, the Snob part is the best 23:19
Damn that dr. egg-robot-man-nik!
You edited out a name and said Carly Simon instead, 21:00 , can you explain why that part is oddly edited because otherwise this just feels like you regretting an offensive joke that I do not understand.
+Alex Horbacz I said the wrong name, dubbed it in later.
Thank you, that needed clarification.
Frankly, I found the edit was a lot better than Doug's Last Action Hero edits where he had to correct himself multiple times after mistaking Robert Prosky for Art Carney.
13:26 *I’m here from ClementJ64*
22:50 whethe magic starts
the same way Jonathan pulled the kid in after watching his music video
“What was with that static?”
Ohhhh
You missed the chance to make the Batman Forever "It just raises too many questions" joke. You even set up said joke.
Well we're almost 1/3 of the way there :D
Where can I get a copy of this version of the intro?! So awesome
I guess I should learn how to pay attention to the credits lol...Living Illusion is very awesome, can't wait to listen through the rest of their stuff on SoundCloud!
I only looked at this comic because the Knuckles' Quest was there and some genius thought it was a good idea to scatter them all over the place.
Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night buddy.
Why do I now want to see an ep on the World's Collide event?
That theme song version, i want it on mp3, now.
I recommend you review Dr.Slump or Dragon Ball.
DO IT!
24:09 Is that Masoko X?
Wait, the Sonic comics crossed over with frickin' Image!? How the hell does that work!? Even at his worst, Sonic's as far removed from that "edgy" garbage as it gets! Okay, MLP's further removed, but you get my point.
Ise no Kami
The protagonist is Shadow the edgehog, member of the Youngbloodsrtyke team.
Oscar Samaniego
Yeah, can't really argue with that.
Ise no Kami Speaking of which, the MLP comics make more sense than the Sonic comics!
So this is where the idea of you reviewing stuff from the last video every 100 episodes
