4:53 as someone who lost a lot of data from a broken 3TB Hard drive and another 3TB hard drive and then another 10TB hard drive, yes, it's ok to be sentimental about things like computer thanks for making it open source, and MIT. I might learn a lot from the source. also thanks for inspiring me, i'm currently making a "remake of popular program" too in godot, but lost interest just weeks after working on it. Your dedication makes me believe my project will be complete one day, no matter how the final product will be, and i'll be proud of it.
No data was lost, just the hardware! It really depends on what you want to make, but I was able to complete this project in just two weeks (nine days, plus a little tweaking while making the video). Part one took a year, but things went a lot faster once I understood what I had, and how I wanted to finish it. Best of luck with your project!
I love the program, I love it's capabilities as an in-game asset editor, etc., but I disagree with that Blender boat. You could do basically the same workflow in blender as you did with your boat. You just go into the mesh and start to edit vertices directly, while using fill function to connect the dots/fill the triangles. I'm using just that from time to time.
Fair enough! I followed the "new to Blender" tutorial, which starts with the Donut. I never saw the "here's how to make something that doesn't resemble any shape" tutorial, so that part was an honest comparison of my own skills. Blender is obviously a very powerful tool, but I do see a lot of symmetrical low poly from noobs like myself. My CAD boat was also terrible, despite my love of CAD. I'd just need a lot more than 10 minutes to get that one to look decent.
not even a week ago I was thinking about making a multiplayer blender... because thats obviously what the world needs and here you are actually doing something similar and I LOVE IT
Now I want to play multiplayer Blender :D My first thought was Jackbox/Warioware style nonsense. "Ok, team. We have 30 seconds to turn this sphere into a bunny. GO!"
That's cool, most of the "model editors" that I saw didn't have a gui, just a list of points. It's nice having immediate visual feedback when making tweaks
Crocotile / SpriteTile are not as Wisk alternatives, Wisk is for lowpoly easy modeling, Crocotile / SpriteTile are to made 3D models/leves using 2D Tiles.
I watched one minute of the tutorial and already think it's cool. Opening Blender is like opening GIMP to me. Something I only did once. I would like to use Blender to make detailed models though.
I thought about adding some triangle selection tools so you could change a triangle's color, invert normals, etc. I did briefly look into the code needed to raycast onto a triangle instead of a vert, and I don't think it's too complicated. That's on the "maybe if I revisit this" list right now.
I remember I wanted to use the wisk and I commented on the previous video but I was so lazy and not intrested in godot at all that I got stick with blender cuz it's my comfortable program
@@SDGGames well yeah but in the blender I couldn't find a thing that allows me to add single vertices in the screen It seems I have to extrude edges/faces or re shape/adding loop cut to a cube and adjust it This program has some new perspective to it
1:00 what the hell body are you out of your mind!! controller support?!?!? HWAT That's IMPOSSIBLE I CAN't COMPREHEND BRO WHAT WHOT HOWT HAHA!?! MAYBME I GOING INSANE now now... it's really got me curious to test the app with my ps3 controller... (that actually works as a xbox360)
I might try porting it to phones hopefully Godot would get an ios port. This might be the best option for phone and chromebook users Gave a 5 stars on itch thank for both your content and the app itself. Just to make sure we could use a controller to do everything right? If so a simple overlay canvas item and touchbuttons should be enough I would share what I find here or on your website
Yeah, I got a controller to work for everything. A phone port isn't a bad idea. I hate using phones, so I was inclined to stick with PC, but it could definitely work well with a little tinkering.

Please continue working on this. Blender has become too complicated and overwhelming for the likes of me.

Reminds me of an old game called NetWars, it had a simple model editor that worked somewhat similarly to this (placing verts and edges manually)

blockbench?
Yes, but with even less features :D

Unexpected but im here for it
the urge to use this for game dev instead of blender is strong...
Try it! I'm using it for a game jam soon :)
@@SDGGames I guess I'm just not sure it'd work for any of the ideas I've been having, mainly FPS's and horror games LOL

You should add a face select mode that lets you invert a face's normals.

Blender is more complex. If you know how to use it already, there's probably not a reason to try something simpler

Let me know if you find any issues/optimizations! It works, but I've been preferring the mouse, so I could probably still refine it a bit.

go buy one from the market ?
Why spend a little bit of money when you can spend an inordinate amount of your time instead? :D
