Blimey! a model railway guy who can actually present really well. Most sound like they're mumbling to themselves somewhere in a dark cupboard. Great review, covering all the points I was looking to learn about, and I will now go and buy. Many thanks.
Great video, very useful. I’m about to rebuild my OO layout in a 10x14 foot shed and looking for a way to re-code all my DCC locos in an off track environment. One problem I think I will face will be dirty wheels and this system will help considerably. I don’t have an issue removing the bodies of the locos as most of them have been converted by me to DCC. So I’m going to order this product and get started. Thanks again for the clear to understand video.
Thanks for posting this video. I have just brought one of these RRA 12 rolling roads from Hattons. Will now allow me to run in my locomotive collection. One thing you didn't show is how the rolling road picks up power.
Directly from the track, Tony. The active rolling road pieces simply transfer power from the track they are placed on directly to the loco wheels. HTH.

Glad you found it useful. Good luck with the layout upgrade.
I'm impressed ... with the product AND the review.
Just bought one of these, but not taken delivery yet. Thanks for a very clear and helpful review.
Great video, been looking to purchase the rolling road from DCC Concepts and this a a great little review.
Thanks for the great video wanted to see before I buy, this one seems the better option as being multi gauge which would be of more use.
I've been considering getting one of these and working in p4 wondered how it changed between gauges, so thanks.
You're most welcome, glad it is of some use to you.
The one important thing you didn't cover sadly was how it was connected to the track and power/controller with the red cabling?
That's for locos running on alternating current and needing a third rail.

Got mine from Clarkes hardware shop in Nelson they have just started to do model rail stuff cost me £70
What are the croc clips and metal bars for for still havnt fathomed this out as I am new to this
Hi Peter - these are to connect the rolling road to a 3-rail system such as Hornby 3-rail or Marklin. Richard - DCCconcepts.
Bought one of these and personally I don't think its worth the money.
