This is first video in this hexacopter build series and it is about building Tarot FY680 (Ironman) hexacopter frame.
This is awesome looking, rigid and high quality carbon fiber frame. Great for FPV and aerial videography and photography and the best bang for your buck.
In this video I will show you how to perform hassle free and quick assembly of this frame as well as some general tips and tricks when it comes to multi-rotor builds.
Tips:
1. Always use Threadlocker when you have metal on metal contact.
2. Make sure all motor mount are level before tightening.
You will need:

Yet another frame build? Yep! This is my hexacopter aerial video machine build series. This is now priority over my tricopter build, but don't worry tricopter build will be finished. ;) Enjoy
Is it made up of Aluminum? What is weight of Frame?
Complimenti, sempre molto preciso!!!
By far best build videos on UA-cam!
Really a very useful instruction video! I assembled the frame with this vid' perfect with no problems or (error) surprises. Thank you ! :)
bekawe2011 Glad to hear that. Enjoy with your new frame! ;)
You're back!
Excellent...!!!
Thanks for the excellent video from eRC , and hope this "build series " video could be instructional for new people . All this parts you can purchase from Foxtechfpv.com , and the discount coupon(3.5%) in this video is available in our shop .We are waiting for your visit . :)
Big thanks to Foxtech for sponsoring eRC. It helps me a lot and will keep me going!
Fantastic video!
Thank you! :)
great video - i assume this is the correct way to go on the 690 as well?
Can you show how to put the canopy on? Specifically, how to fit the white rubber rings which should hold the canopy on the small metal columns which are fixed on the frame? The white rings seem way to small to fit into the holes in the canopy, how to get them in there?
Love this series of videos, I have a question that I haven't found here yet. What was your goal on the AUW when calculating the motor sizes? I know you are going to use a good video camera, but I haven't seen what exactly so I could get my own estimations in order. You seem to really have it "going on", I'm just wanting to estimate my needs as close as possible for the added weight of a good gimbal and cinematic quality camera. Really appreciate your videos.
Brian
Please check my latest video - Flight Test. I do tell a few words about AUW. ;) My goal is to have camera and a gimbal in about 1.000 g. This is something like NEX 5. However, I think I'll use GoPro+gimbal and 12.000 mAh batteries total.
Great build video once again mate! hope you have time to edit the video of your electronics! cant wait to see how you built/organize it! thumbs up!
Ed
Yep, I'm already editing... ;)
Great! hope you finish soon! Good luck ans fly safe mate!

One complaint which I spent some time finding on the schematic when I built mine: there needs to be emphasis on the exact placement of the fixed arms or they could potentially be longer or shorter than the folding arms and make tuning difficult causing yaw drift.
I did find arm length in instructions, however in my case it was inaccurate. I found 273 mm from aluminium block to tube edge is what it should be in order to achieve same motor to motor distance between all opposed arms. Of course, if you move all motor mounts from the tube edge exactly the same amount (I chose 4 mm). Now I have exactly 683 mm shaft to shaft on all opposed motors.
Is this the same as Tarot 650 ironman? I will build one, and need step by step guide
i know this is an ld video now but i just built mine great video by the way very clear and easy to follow. but i dont undersand what the colored plastic bits are for? you dont show them being used in the video you do show them at the beginning. i read in the comments to use them for the motor mounts? Thank you
The red are the front arms.
Great! just one small comment: I have just assembled this kit and point out that for the motor mounts (at 4:32 ), we need to use watshers (kit included), ortherwise, the motor mounts can not hold steadiness with kit arms, because the already fixed the length of the screws.......Thanks for your great video. Have you ever setup this kit with the pixhawk?...if so, pls share the video :D
I didn't use Pixhawk. Ardupilot yes. And it is the best FC in my opinion as far as capabilities goes. Quality is another thing. Honestly, I forgot to put those washers on. :D When I saw them on the table after the build I went crazy. :D But, it works without them with no problem.
Special discount coupon code is in the video description! ;)
How are you able to make that white background look so nice? Are you diffusing the light in any way? I would really appreciate a setup tour. This looks awesome as always :D
Yes, I'm diffusing the light with DIY lightbox and I'm using 3 point lighting (also DIY lights). I do some prep work on the shooting, but most of the magic happens in post... color correction, masking etc. I might do setup tour in the future, but not for now...
Wish the measurements were in SAE, I was never much for metric and at 61yrs old not wanting to have to learn it now.
que batería a usado, gracias

Thanks! Yeah, I kinda find them, but they are really awesome as a company. I wouldn't use their products for myself if I think that is rubbish. And this hexa beast will stay in my collection. ;) I don't technically work for them, they just sponsor my videos.
eluminerRC I bought a couple of products from them! They are great!
Congratulations for your sponsorship :)
Hurry up with the next videos lol

Hi , very interesting all your videos, I am introducing me to the world of mounting multirrotores, and I need advice from the best, so I contacted you, I want to build a hexacoptero with Tarot FY680 Frame Rack, possessing a wide range flight, my main interest is making photographic for agriculture, infrared images with cameras, so I'll need telemetry, flight plan, among other things, you could send me a list of all the best that could ride said Multirotor ?,
I'll be very grateful.
