This was probably the point in time where Bierce realises she messed up MASSIVELY by, you know, writing the fact that she committed murder, made a deal with a demon, and several other sins in a diary, so (probably after she ended up in the ballroom) she tried to re-write the ending as her not finding the Riddle of Heaven and (almost) cheating her way out of Malak’s contract, but her time running out before she could find it, and ending up in a ballroom-like purgatory or limbo. She then continues to write that she TRIED to go find her way out through the portals, but fucking gave up after like three because it was too mentally disturbing for her (fitting considering that third one. A real shame too, rats and giant spiders sound like they’d make really good nightmares.) As for Diary Nine, that’s probably true. So lemme get this straight, Bierce tried rewriting her story so people would think of her as: ‘A lying, murdering bitch who bloody well deserved being locked in a ballroom by a demon and basically rotting there in her own self-pity for like 90 years’ When in reality she’s ‘A lying, murdering, *cheating* bitch who tried to steal the power and status of a demon who was just trying to do his job and ended up not only locking herself in a ballroom and thus basically committing the demon equivalent of tax evasion for like 90 years, but also sending thousands of other people just like her to their deaths and fucking LAUGHING AT THEM at them when they died’ …I don’t really see how that would help, especially when the only people who would even discover what happened to her are bad people who wouldn’t really judge, but it works I suppose…
What if Victor was actually another demon who wanted to find someone who would overpower Malak? Maybe that is why there is a bunch of mortals who know about Bierce. After all, in hell every demon fights over power, forever.
Also, there was a "puppet master" revealed. We don't know who he is, but I think he is this Victor guy, manipulating everyone to get power, dividing and conquering. I guess that if they do a sequel it will be about this new guy expanding his power.
After the great cinematics of Bierce fighting Malak, I'm MUCH MORE CONFIDENT than I was before Chapter 4 came out. Bierce is more honest with us, we could see his powerlessness against Malak, Doug needed an explanation for this fight that he didn't even start, and that he ended up suffering the consequences of Bierce's actions. I don't think she could lie to us, I think she's honest like the other times we've talked to her but it's still questionable. Personally I still trust her. She is so much cooler and more beautiful with those expressions that honestly on the pseudo-cinematics after the end of a level where those expressions were overplayed. She is so much more human, it's a very good work from the developers (much better than the reapers :) And I understood not long ago that the souls shards she controls is of course with the ring piece but more specifically the telekinesis power, after that you'll have to explain me why you can't control the enemies like Bierce did with Malak, or like disable the traps or push back (and not stun) the enemies. It seems more logical to me, but considering the power of telekinesis, I don't need it.
Yes, but from the first chapter, there was this question: Do you trust Bierce or Malak? I think Chapter 5 will bring a lot more of this as well. Before, I didn't know which one I trusted, but after what Malak did in Chapter 4, I trust Bierce 100%.

It's mentioned by Malak that Bierce sees everything through Doug and possibly the Tablet while in Diary 9 she didn't know what monster was out there, just that it killed the first person that wanted to help her.
She probably didn't bother looking at the monster too much, or the monster just tore her apart so quickly her vision was impaired by blood and gore? A little edgy sounding but is probably one of the more reliable explanations lol
Telling by this and the many soul shards in each level, guess like the fan girl, E and Doug weren't the first to try get the Ring Pieces. On the 9th Diary, it seems that Bierces had used countless people after the fan girl gotten killed. Plus the added unfortunate souls that Malak dragged in each nightmare. Telling by Bierces reaction on Doug appearing, she knew another mortal would appear quickly just like E. Telling by how E is the last one she knows that "died" (Not conformed if she's Alice or not). But it's strange how E knew how each nightmare is meant to represent each an aspect of life. It's like she's know each nightmare by heart or that's what I think.
So... a few, or even plenty of those soul shards can be coming from the people who died because of Bierce, or their shards are somewhere else and what we the players are collecting are other people who were in the same situation as Bierce but die or... what? I am a bit confused
i think it was people who died doing what the Mc is doing now, trying to get the ring piece for Bierce. So the player is collecting the soul shards of the people before him.

What Bierce encounter is different from what we see as Doug, she saw spiders and a Edgar naked with only a goat mask and diaper etc, so unless we see those thing in the 10th nightmare, so it means people going through the portal see different nightmares... So that means, either Bierce is a really popular lengend that many many people have died for them that there are up to hundreds of shards spreading everywhere in many dimension and Doug only get to withness 10 of them... Or I'm just really stupid and miss something hence my theory is wrong

But maybe before Doug and E could serve her, those others souls were killed by Mama bear. During her second boss battle, the floor is made of many bones and skulls, and those soul shards we collected didn’t even give us a NEW ring piece.

And then she said, she wanted to make a deal. She wanted to be a star. I sent her through one of the doors. Told her that if she could bring me the pieces of my ring, I'd make her wishes come true. Whatever was on the other side tore her apart in 2 seconds flat! All that"s left of her, a shard of her soul scattered throughout the halls. Stupid cow! I knew she didn"t stand a chance but that was the closest thing to entertainment I've had in a long, long time.

Bierce pretty much would be a subrogate demon making deals if the ring legend is true but would she actually want to help anyone but herself? she doesnt seem apologetic or repenting like Doug... I don't think that it's Tammy (although I can certainly imagine a child wanting fame and fortune) because Bierce called her a "woman" and Tammy died as a child, so Bierce wouldn't have called Tammy a "woman" she would've called her a "girl".

After she became so popular, she basically had everyone licking out of her hand, so she'd get what she wanted no matter what. Even at the longevity of others, namely forcing her employer at the time to make some questionable decisions for business. Turning purple in the face would probably refer to him basically choking or becoming so worried? It probably isn't literal though.

I don't get it how people think that Bierce will betray us just from these audios. None of these audios mentions directly how if Bierce has no intentions of actually helping the souls that seek her gain their wishes. It just seems to me that Bierce rarely gets souls who last for little while longer compared to the others, because it looks like she expects them to fail easily, hence why her attitude started to warm up to Doug as he got more and more pieces of the ring. I don't know about everyone else, but I never doubted Bierce from the start, and I don't think I ever will, since in a cutscene from chap 4, she revealed one of her goals, which was to escape Malak's grip, preventing her from being a slave for all eternity to Malak.
The reason is because Bierce isn’t afraid of acting selfishly in dangerous ways. She did so in life, k1lling a once innocent girl (Agatha) to become a movie star. Also, the creator tweeted “the worst thing about betrayal is that it never comes from an enemy,” and the only one that really applies to would be Bierce. Imo, Bierce would throw Doug away if it meant getting what she wants. There’s even a teaser of her for ch 5 that has an “evolved” form of her, with bigger soul shards around her neck and a different outfit.

I don't get it how people think that Bierce will betray us just from these audios. None of these audios mentions directly how if Bierce has no intentions of actually helping the souls that seek her gain their wishes. It just seems to me that Bierce rarely gets souls who last for little while longer compared to the others, because it looks like she expects them to fail easily, hence why her attitude started to warm up to Doug as he got more and more pieces of the ring. I don't know about everyone else, but I never doubted Bierce from the start, and I don't think I ever will, since in a cutscene from chap 4, she revealed one of her goals, which was to escape Malak's grip, preventing her from being a slave for all eternity to Malak.
The reason is because Bierce isn’t afraid of acting selfishly in dangerous ways. She did so in life, k1lling a once innocent girl (Agatha) to become a movie star.
Also, the creator tweeted “the worst thing about betrayal is that it never comes from an enemy,” and the only one that really applies to would be Bierce.
Imo, Bierce would throw Doug away if it meant getting what she wants. There’s even a teaser of her for ch 5 that has an “evolved” form of her, with bigger soul shards around her neck and a different outfit.
