An attendance sheet is a tool used to keep track of Employees' ,Student’s and Teacher’s daily attendance. Except for tracking attendance, this sheet is used for compensation purposes. It is made up of payroll heads’ data that are used to compute salaries, such as the present, absent, holidays, paid leaves, unpaid leaves and many more. Previously, attendance forms or books were used to keep track of attendance. Slowly but steadily, as the use of computers grew, people began to keep records on computers as well. Furthermore, because of technological advancements, fingerprint machines can now be found in many businesses.
There are basically 3 types of attendance registers:
1) Employee Attendance Registers
2) Student Attendance Registers
3) Timesheet Attendance Registers

When i put the value 'P' in january and save it and then change the month february in drop down list it shows 'P' in february also if i delete it in february then it aslo be delete in january what should i do for it
Thanks for watching the video Sachin. In excel file we can't do much about it. We will have to create blank files in advance or we will have to delete previous month data and insert new month data. Softwares gives us the freedom to blank the data when the months get changed. Hope you got the point. 😊😊😊

Without any shadow of doubt. Even I have created many Attendance Sheet with Macros which helps us to create new file and save the old data in another file, once the month changes. 😊😊😊
Great tutorial! I did follow along with the tutorial and completed the sheet as yours. However, when I enter attendance records like in Jan, for example, and then move to Feb, the attendance record won’t update automatically. The previous month’s attendance records will follow through each new month selected. How can I fix this? Thank you.

This File is just for 1 month and so data will keep sitting if we will change the month. If you want your data to be blank once the month changes, you will have to use Macros. I have created nearly 5 - 6 types of attendance sheet on my channel. I will recommend you to watch this video, and all your issues will be resolved

I don't have "classic rule" in my conditional formatting side. Please can you assist me?
Classic feature is in MacBook only. After Classic, I go to "Use a formula to determine which cells to format".
You will directly get the option "Use a formula to determine which cells to format " in Windows. Ignore Classic, just go top "Use a formula to determine which cells to format" and put your formula

If you are not able to see Classic, it's perfectly fine. Different Operating systems have different heads so just follow the steps which I mentioned on the top

hello sir, how do you fix the data. for example, I put data in January when I selected February, I can still see the data I put in January. I selected in February, that's the only thing I can see in the February date that changes... I hope you can also teach me how to fix that.
This Attendance sheet is just for one month. If the months will be changed from the dropdown, the data will still keep sitting and it will not be blank.
You have got 2 options. Either create 12 sheets for 12 months or use macros. After using Macros, the data will be blank once the month will complete. The data of past month will be saved and a new sheet will be created automatically. Providing the link of video, through which you can use Macros in most simplest way.

You will have to create 12 sheets for 12 months. In case you don't want to create 12 shhets in advance, you will have to create Macro enabled format for 1 month and coming month sheets will be created automatically. This Attendance sheet is for 1 month. For 12 months you will have to create 12 sheets. Drop down of months and year is not connected with the entry of Present, Absent or any other things, so it will never be blank. You can use Macros to blank the data. On my Channel you will get a Video in which I have used Macros to blank the data.

Yes, much possible. Now it depends you want to keep records of previous months or not. In case you want to keep records, you will have to put those files in different sheets otherwise one sheet will be too heavy and lengthy for all the months

3) Or you want to restrict just one day ?

1) When you will do the entries, leaves will be automatically updated in the end.
2) In case leaves are in some other sheet, you will have to connect both the sheets together.

Please download the file once and check the cell numbers. I think there might be some confusion.
There might be 2 possible reasons, either the cell number is getting mismatched or name is not getting defined properly from Define Manager
One more issue might be there. You might have missed to format the cells. Format Cells - Custom - "HD" #

One thing more if we want to fill the holidays in the worksheet of each employee with HD also like A (Absent), P(Present) etc by matching with the holidays chart. How can we do that also.
