Nice to see you taking care of your rabbits. I would suggest a larger area for them then those tiny wire cages. It can be super hard on their feet. And they will enjoy to move more in a bigger space
Silver foxes!!! Wonderful choice. Worth the distance. I wish silver fox were more available around me. They are on my list to find by 2022. I currently have meat mutt, cali/NZ and pure NZ. Standard rex would also be cool.
I raised rabbits for 30 years. The past 3 years I have had only silver fox rabbits. I wanted to purchase some different rabbits but are now very difficult to find. I would have to travel 51/2 hours each way. Not able to do that. I wanted some more diverse genetics but have not had any success. I live in VA. One person had some but no pedigrees says not worth his time.
I've got to drive a good little bit, not 5 1/2 hours though, to get good rabbits. I'm actually got it on the calendar in a couple more weeks to go pick up a couple more silver fox does and a giant chinchilla doe. Very excited for that!
My place is double fenced and I have 2 LGD that protect my property. Nothing gets into my fence or property including humans. Even though I live in a rural area people think they can let their dogs run loose. I had 1 dog tried to get into my property but was not successful.
Unfortunately a neighbor didn't have his dogs properly secured. They got into my barn and killed all of my buns. I talk about it in this video. ua-cam.com/video/Roqf-BqmxMQ/v-deo.html
