nice story, now i won't bet. christoph waltz should have been nominated for best actor, but hollywood would have been felt attacked by that, so they keep their brad pitt as the main character, eventhough he was standing in waltz's shadow. maybe, that's why brad didn't get an oscar nomination. How can someone possibly dare to say that bradely pitty could be the supporting actor, when someone, who no one knows in hollywood, plays the leading role.
I think it's about time they didn't give it slavishly to Pixar. Up is more deserving of it this year, because of not much competition, but last year Wall-E should've lost to Waltz with bashir. Fantastic Mr Fox should win it, don't you think?
Like Kermode I'm not a betting man. Not because of a religious reason, I'm an atheist, but because I don't see the point of going against mathematical odds. I'm not going to bet on this but I will be interested to see if his predictions are right. I hope their not because i probably will kick myself for not betting if they are :D

The Hurt Locker owned the at Oscars! Well deserved as well! Avatar - good film but not original enough (James you can do better). Hurt Locker - Best film of 2009 by a long shot.

Never peeked my interest, watching a depressing and over stereotypical and degrading movie about black america is not my idea of a good movie watching experience... plus that's my opinion about the nominee's you can like whom soever you choose.

I thoroughly enjoyed Avatar, it was a really satisfying cinema experience and it is still one of my favourite movies to watch, despite its downfalls.
