Floor Jansen was, is and will be the lead singer of Nightwish for the foreseeable future. Her solo career does not change that.
Beste zangers is not her solo career. Just a a sidestep, in a TV program. And a good step, i might add. She's big as the leading singer, in a scandinavion band. Her being dutch, and did what she did on that show, made nightwish more populair, down here. She'll will stay the Queen she is, in the band. Just with a bigger fanbase. And please, no gatekeeping. Don't you ever keep that beautiful bird in your own cage.
Pretty much all of them have their solo-projects, and for the last 15y they have been so big in Europe that they can joink any EU artist they want for themselves either temporarily or as full time team-members

As someone reacted, and I quote: the worst thing that can happen to you as a professional singer is when Floor Jansen covers your song. You instantly loose it. And it is false play. She is not entirely human. She was sent from the Andromeda star system to earth as a Goddess to bring happiness, beauty and emotions to those pour earthlings. A unique voice from heaven packed in a beautifull woman. In my not so humble opinion the absolute best singer in the world. By far.

The 1st time i heard this i immediately put on the Gaga version ( live at the oscars) and i was shocked at how much better Floors is .......well not shocked , its Floor but i really love Gagas .....there's just different levels of skill and Floor is at the ridiculous level .

Five years of listening to Floor Jansen and I react just the same to the songs I have heard over and over. They still bring me to tears and give me goosebumps like they always did. No one has ever even come close that in my lifetime.
I think they are both good but Floor somehow pulls more emotions out of me. She just does something to my insides.
Well, I have to report that I got tickets for her Solo Show on the 1st of June to see her live for the first time. I cannot tell my excitements about it. She is definetely the best female Singer of our time and to see her live will be the first step to fullfill my last wishes for the rest of my live. Hopefully I have a chance to get to a Nightwish concert some time.
No matter what song Floor "covers", she just makes it her own.
Do Floor Jansen singing "Winner" from this show. It was written by Tim Akkerman, the guy with slightly curly hair. He wrote it to his brother who is in a wheel-chair and apperantly never ever complain about it. It's amazing.
Floor can not be compared to anyone. It just is not a fair comparison. There are many great singers, in all genres. Floor is just a different level. A higher level. We are blessed she shares her amazing voice with us!!
She was first up on the show and sang “Vilja Lied” for Henk. They didn’t really know what she was capable of and didn’t expect much from “just a metal singer”. The looks on their faces was priceless.
"Just a metal singer"?:D what an ignorance. If we talk about melodic metal (heavy/power/prog) we cannot forget how many vocalists have opera roots. You can't be a good heavy metal singer without range or control. Just c'mon... pop singers can only dream about that versality Floor has.

Fil, you can find the 2019 show of Best Zangers with English subs on YT.. Floor was a unknown to most of the Netherlands, where she comes from, Metalheads knew her, but otherwise, nope. She participated, when she heard that her childhood idol Henk Poort (the elderly gentleman) was also on the show. He is famous as one of the best Phantom of the Opera, ever. They even did a duet of Phantom of the opera and it blew the sock of many. Today Floor Jansen can´t walk through Amsterdam without being recognized. Friend stay safe. Elmar
Floor has amazing talent her voice is like liquid gold, and when she sings in nightwish her stage presence is off the chain.
She also did a duet version of this song with Tim Akkerman on another episode of Beste Zangers. It's definitely worth a listen.

Her voice enters your brain and then there are no words to be found to discribe what you've just heard and felt. I also like to believe that Floor can silence a room full of countless screaming and crying babies within seconds with her singing! Come to think of it......i would lóve to see that!

The show takes 7 singers from different genres from Holland and Dutch speaking part of Belgium. In each episode one of them is placed central and the others will sing a song that has a meaning for the central person. There is a list to chose from but it will be a surprise. Every song has a meaning, that can be an own song or something with a memory so stories are shared about life experiences and it can become very emotional or very funny. Because they are all from different genres singers need to step out there musical comfort zone or change the song of choice into their musical comfort zone (Like Rolf Sanchez - Hotel California he did for Floor)). The last episode the the fun duet one where each singer has to chose one of the others to sing a duet with like this one. It is no competition, just a small gathering to share stories and sing to each other.
You are one of the most talented and most popular performers on planet earth …and some unknown Dutch gal shows up and blows you away singing Your song.

But let's be honest: Floor is much longer in the business than Gaga, and she has the better training and technique by far. She's been a name in the metal scene since many, many years, especially but not only in Europe and South America. She was known to a couple million people worldwide before she did this, and those who have followed her since the mid-1990s were not surprised. It's only because a bunch of elitist people have refused to listen to metal musicians that she - and others in the genre - have not been recognised for what they are: outstanding artists and musicians who master their craft better than most in more popular genres.
Floor is the new ceiling. Shatter that!

Floor is incredible. She is a classical schooled singer and has a very versatile voice. The premise of the show ‘De Beste Zangers’ (the best singers) is to invite professional artists and let them sing outside of their comfort zone. It has lead to some very impressive performance. At the end of the season a winner is declared (Floor won) but it is not really a competition and the singers cheer each other one tremendously.

I know of no other singer that can perform live and do what Floor is capable of. Fun fact: the British came up with the Imperial system. Later on the French invented the metric system. As an American I’m comfortable with both systems. The US tried many times to switch to the metric system and a bill was passed in the 70s, but it was voluntary. It would have been easy to switch after the French invented it, but we were trading with Britain who was still using the Imperial system. Now it would be expensive and too much of a hassle. We do have a few companies that deal in metrics though. 😄🤘

Before Nightwish she was the singer of After Forever. If you like gothic metal, you should check it out. I've been blessed to see her sing at the very start of her career. She was much more opera style in her singing back then, but already breathtaking.

Aww... damn... just had to throw in our use of the Imperial measurement system, did ya? LOL! I know, I know... it really is dumb, but the tide is changing. Slowly, but surely, we will get there. American school children are learning the metric system alongside the Imperial system, but it's hard to make meaningful connections when all the measurements around us are still Imperial. But, it is encouraging to see even little steps being taken in the right direction. 👍
Sadly, you cant buy tickets to this event, since it's a TV--show. They pick 5 singers, who will sing for and to eachother. Every week one of those singers is in the spotligh. The others will sing for them a song, that's important to the one in the spotlight. Check out the episode where she is singing with Henk Poort (opera singer, dutch phantom of the Opera) that's just crazy.

Floor has been doing more intimate solo concerts around the Netherlands ever since this show in 2019.
The Dutch people never knew they had such a talent until this show. Now she has added some of the covers she did on her UA-cam channel to keep voice in shape during covid, and starred in the German version of this singing show called Sing Meinen Song (contestants had the same look as here lol), as well as recently released 2 solo singles Fire & Storm which are awesome.
She is a busy lady with Nightwish, touring, solo stuff, cameos with other artists, and being a mom lol.
Floor is one of the best, if not the best female vocalists of the world. Her voice is insane.

Floor has said Nightwish is her #1 priority but she, like Tuomas, Troy, and other members of the band do side gigs. Floor and Nightwish just finished their amazing May U.S. tour followed by festival season in Europe. Two amazing shows before huge crowds were Hellfest 2022 in France and the Deichbrand Festival in Germany. If you haven't seen it, Floor actually sang part of the Dutch phonebook on a radio show, proving beyond all doubt that she is a goddess. Keep the Floor Jansen and Nightwish reactions coming.

you cant get tickets for this, its a dutch tv programm called beste zangers (best singers) where a group of well known (in the Netherlands) dutch zingers are in a resort on ibiza and they sing to each other, every night 1 artist is on the bench and the rest sing songs that are important to that singer in anyway (a song of them, their favorite song or in any other way sigbnificant for them|) they go way out of their own way of performing floor is doing so much beautifull songs so check it out, also check out the show where the others sing to her ther is a version with english subtitles
Floor is absolutely awesome singer. And now imagine she - the Vocal Queen Floor Jansen would sing a duet with Vocal King Dimash Qudaibergen, that would be the most epic duet of 21st century (for now it remains only my dream). But I am lucky person, 2 days ago I bought tickets for Nightwish concert in Prague (I will see them live for 3rd time) 😊

There is no "better" in music. What`s best is what sounds best for you. It`s just like food. What`s delicious for some, taste bad for others. It`s all about personal taste. Sure, some singers may have better skills and wider range, but that don`t make it sound better for all.
For me, nothing sounds better than Floor`s voice and no one can get to me like her when she`s performing....it is what it is 🤷♂

Yep felt the same when I first heard this. She turned a good song into a masterpiece! Her voice is beautiful in this but then her voice is unlike any other, and all credit to her, she has worked incredibly hard and deserves all the praise she gets. One thing that sets Floor apart from other great singers is that she doesn't just sing you a song, she sings you a story every single time. She is just phenomenal ❤️

It's in Spanish ( a language Floor does not speak) and the guy thyat wrote and originally sang the song , has his head almost exploding and a look on his face that says " Oh my god, my song sounds like that?"
