@James C well technically these so-called UA-cam "reviews" are just opinions really. I think his positive energy is a breathe of fresh air, and not constantly being constantly bitchy and awful like ur comment, is way better.
There's plenty of bitchy trolls on UA-cam if you prefer.. so instead of trolling Jor, just cos he likes a game which is actually good (I'm playing it now..)

It feels like Forspoken is going to be one of those games UA-camrs and Twitter comes back to 5 or so years later making the "you know, it really wasn't that bad" think pieces.

Thats because Forspoken really is not a bad game. In all honesty, it is a really good game. I think Forspoken is the victim of too much group think where people who are on the fence about the game are influenced by the group that a game is bad, and it isn't until more people try it for themselves that they realize that the group is forcing thier subjective opinion on others. I am about 10 hours into the game and was suprised by how little I agreed with alot of the mainstream criticism for the game. Again this does not mean that the game is not without flaws, just that alot of the criticism of the game feels unfair or unwarranted now that I have access to the full game to play and can play for myself. Definitely going to be another Days Gone situation here where people are not going to support it at launch, then they will get to play it later on, realize that the game is actually good, then be mad that it won't get a sequel.

Yeah, today people overreact to everything. A game is trash or masterpiece, no in between. When we look back we might appreciate most games trashed on or ignored were actually fun and well made. Not sure about forspoken tho lol.
70 dollars on a new IP with cringe dialogue, bland open world and one of the worst optimization i've ever seen in my platform(PC), and they STILL have the courage to put denuvo on top of it, that makes the trash performance even worst. No way in any reality i'm thinking anything good of this game.
I keep seeing everyone holding O to dash run. This burns stamina. The better way is to hold O to initiate the dash run and then she will glow red to use another stamina, BUT if you press O again at that moment you will burst with red energy and it will not use stamina. This also allows you to use your camera controls while running without having to hold O the whole time.
This is from the demo, I don't know if this is changed in the final release.
this is only if you get the fire power and there’s another way to boost off the ground with the earth power
Hopefully this gets the Cyberpunk 2077/No Man's Sky treatment by the developers. It has really good potential.
Cyberpunk is nowhere on the same level as no mans sky. No mans sky gave over a dozen free updates that brought back promised features like multiplayer and base building. All CDPR did for cyberpunk was patch the game into a working state so people wouldn't complain and gave the player some clothes and buyable apartments. We didnt even get customizable cars.

I'm currently 10 Hours in, having a great time.
Could be better in terms of Motion Capture & Graphics overall, but i haven't had this much fun with a game in quite a long time.

It's holding me over until Hogwarts arrives, it's been good for me, then again I had no expectations going in.

Even still, you can tell this ain’t good, typically if someone’s paid to promote something they’ll use positive language if they actually enjoyed it. JorRaptor is barely using any positive language here.
I played the demo, combat was unexciting, traversal looked cool but was no fun to play, the world felt empty other than enemies. And the dialogue/writing is mostly annoying.
Yes it is not a review, good that you make that clear. I do mean everything I say ofc, but you can totally take that with a grain of salt. I wanted to do a video like this covering the game as it would give - in my opinion - the best overview.
Alot of people played the demo you're not saying anything people haven't said. The combat imo is fun from the demo. I'm just not paying $70 for a average game.
It is not a paid promotion. Don't you know basically UA-camr law. TV networks made it so much harder for UA-camrs. They have to disclaimer if it's a paid promotion. If they don't they get a huge fine.
The problem with people like yourself, you're stone faced. From a generation who is literally sucking the fun out of all entertainment. Especially with a leading female protagonist.
I've seen this trend from about 2014 onwards. It turned the gaming into this toxic tourist spot, that hates storytelling. Moan about graphic. Anyone who disagree with theme is getting paid. Because it's the only way for people like you to nationalise it.
The demo barely scratched the surface of this game had zero story in it. And I'm only 11 hours in to it .
The game is enjoyable, with interesting story that's still unfolding. The banter is charming ,despite having some dark parts to it.
I've come to the conclusion from twitter alot of straight males are extremely uptight and insecure about fun.
I've been gaming since I was 7 years I'm not 38 . Whether it's the UA-camr or commenters I feel they aren't very many actually gamers left..

I honestly am not bothered by the game I really like it but I’m waiting for a sale just because imo it’s not worth $70 but I would’ve paid $60 but Hogwarts next month so I will be purchasing that 🙂
Im 8 hours in and I'm really enjoying it, the combat is fun once you get used to it and there is a lot to do and the parkour magic is great! The story is pretty good. The dialogue isn't bad tbh.
Everyone complains about the dialogue. Maybe I’m easily impressed but I actually have been laughing quite a bit playing it. Also the combat is really fun imo

how did you not mention you can combine abilities from different trees at the same time. Like have flame arrows on your back that'll get released as you charge up any attacks (even those of other elements so as you throw lightning darts accumulating them inside enemies to get off a charged lightning shot to explode the injected darts you'd also be continuously barraging them with fire arrows heh), water armor to protect against 1 unblockable attack, enhanced fire aegis to enter increased attack dmg mode, earth armor for defense and lightning for offense for example. Basically using fire and lightning for offense together gives you a bonus boost as you're combining different elements on the same target while being in an enhanced dmg and buffed defense mode.
Setting up the enhanced flare circle ahead of time would get you a further boost letting you one shot most enemies with a single charged attack. There are even nails that give you increased attack for the more number of spells learned. With a full on build, it actually gets fun but getting there would make you lose your mind lol.
One of the fairest reviews on the game I’ve seen, thank you for actually giving it a chance! I love the combat so much.

This is one of the game I guess I'm going to have to play to understand all the hate. Ive heard a few reviews bashing this game hard - but all I've seen looks really cool. Traversal and combat look really fun and visually spectacular.

I see this like kingdom hearts 2. It reviewed on average at 7. I loved that game. And I'm having a blast with this one so far

I was watching this video on my television and had to jump on mobile to comment. Thank you for this video. This is probably the most honest review out there simply based on the fact that you finished the game and your opinions are your own. It's very clear that a lot of "reviewers" did not play the game or finish the game. This game definitely has it's issues but after playing it myself it's definitely has been a fun experience. It just goes to show that you have to experience things for yourself because you may not have the same experience as someone else.

Dont understand the negativity for this game been playing for about 20 hours it looks awesome, the traversal is incredible and the combat is insane

For what it is worth I'm enjoying the game from what I've played so far. Just left Cipal to start my journey to face Tanta Sila. So I'm 2- 2 1/2 hours into the game.

Actually loving the game , so much to do and to explore , done 18hrs so far just beat first boss but that's to me exploring, it's not a perfect game but it gets u hooked , the down side is the talking between herself a the bracelet can be repetitive I believe u can turn it off if u wish .
Once the game finishes; Cuff and Frey have so much more dialogue. More dialogue opening chests, defeating enemies, banter, nearly dying etc. It's pretty cool. Also if you haven't done everything the dialogue changes (Discovering new towns, defeating last enemies etc).
I noticed jor raptor is being a lot more positive towards forespoken than the other youtubers I watched review this game

I'm 30 and been gaming for awhile (more into anime and drawing) but I think people expect too much or just not easily satisfied.
IMO it was a nice game to drop like 60 hours into, enjoyed my time, next game.

I was going to get this game. It was between this and hogwarts. When it first showed gameplay i thought it looked awesome. But when I tried the demo I was really disappointed and now i will definitely not be buying it unless it goes on sale or is a playstation plus game. Definitely had potential.

Looks like a nice game when it's 65% and a higher discount, here in Brazil with was launched without any discount just converted from USD, because our currency doesn't worth 6 times more like North Americans and Europeans, here this kind type of games in 6 months will be discount over 45% and in a year 65%, and because it's flowed will worth wait 1 year to pay for this game, and when the times comes, maybe they fix some major issues, like the empty world.

You can tell someone isn't really into the game when the just rush through the game just so they can finish it. Glad I cancelled my pre-order after the demo. I'll either wait for it to be about €20 or I might wait and hope it goes on gamepass next year
I think focusing on the main story is smart for forspoken as you unlock all the big powers that way. I did do a ton of side content at first but then decided to mostly mainline.
Most people rush open world games to get the story out if the way. I know I do. It’s more fun to wait to do side quests at the end.
Pretty sure it wont be landing on Gamepass in ATLEAST 2 years time. Exclusivity and all.

I'm glad you did this as a lot of Game Sites seem to highlight the Bad while mentioning the Positive very little......I've seen several mention Playing the Demo and didn't like it and based their opinion on it. I have one friend who got it and is loving it and no idea why the negative pushback....he said exactlly what you're saying: good, has flaws but still very fun....

Honestly the gameplay In Forspoken is pretty remarkable, best magic combat in a game hands down and the world is immense to boot. As someone who very much enjoys open world games, and doesn’t fast travel anymore in them, I really really am enjoying the movement and how it does not at all slow down in combat.
I love the combat and I honestly like the world I find myself constantly going through the stuff but i have to say i do not like the main character I don’t know what made them make her like that she kinda annoys me later in the game overall though I am really having fun with it
I played a bit now and i don't know what to think of it so far, i'll keep playing a few more hours so i'm definitely behind all the forced tutorial restraints before proper exploration and stuff is unlocked, also there's banter between Frey and your sentient little bracelet forever buddy that you can even turn off so it only talks and stuff at quest related things, but then there's no option to turn off damage numbers? I hate it so much! There's an enemy lifebar constantly visible too for the duration of the battle, i don't mind that as much as freaking damage numbers but i have yet to find a setting to turn that off either, i like my immersion without too much of that stuff
Ill grab this when it comes to xbox eventually, like ghostwire tokyo, which im happy that is happening

They really shot themselves in the foot with that god awful demo. I canceled my pre-order and put this game on hold after the demo. So now after seeing some reviews, it does seem at least decent. Might get this one on sale. Thanks a bunch for the review, mate!

I personally wasn't hyped for this game and didn;t like the demo at all tbh, felt weird to me somehow, but i'm currently playing through the game as well and i'm right before the Olas Bossfight with 16h gametime rn and i'm really enjoying this game, even though i disliked the demo xD i don't even mind the Cuff speaking constantly at all and what i really like about this game are the labyrinth dungeons with the cool bossfights at the end.

Dont be. I am playing since friday and this game is ... hollow. Yeah combat is good, movement is good. Thats all. It feels like an early alpha of a game of it should have been.
I'm having a good time with it. Writing for dialogue is a bit cringe but it's still fun. The world is not as empty as people have said either enemies and loot all over

Plus I wouldn't call it fake because there are definitely people who played the game and didn't enjoy it. That is just how things is. Then again alot of people didn't enjoy the game so it is an indicator of the quality of the game.

I was curious about this game, and the combat was pretty fun, but that was about it. I didn't like the MC's personality or the dialogue and banter at all, and I am looking forward to Hogwart's Legacy so much that pre-ordering that over this was almost a no brainer.
It's the kind of game I am still curious to try someday, when it's either on PS+ in a few years or it's on some kind of sale.. but at the price it's at now, on release, no thanks.

I want to be interested in Forspoken and this review gives me confidence I might like it, but I tried the demo on PS5 and without the context or a proper tutorial for everything I quickly became overwhelmed and confused. You are thrust into a piece of the game where you already have some spells unlocked, you already have a few pieces of gear to choose from, not to mention the menu system is incredibly confusing without proper tutorials to give context to the things you do. I would've much rather had the demo start at the beginning and go through everything up to the first boss with most of the side content disabled so players can properly learn things and still have things to do in the full game. This is one of those games that I'm going to have to wait to get on sale because I cant be sure I will like it or not base on the demo.

By the looks of it and reviews this game is not trash like saint row and Gotham knights it's more just ok and mediocre not at a $70 price tag.... I think just cause it a playstation exclusives it was held at a higher standard but Sony didn't make this they just paid for the exclusivity
I finished forespoken too and as of right now exploring the end game. The only thing I disliked and really annoyed me was Frey's own magic affects her she flinches and it cancels out my attacks. The lock-in for enemies is ridiculous. I think that's my only complaint. So far the game was great. I focused on the side options which made me overpowered and completed the game with smooth sailing. I Give it 7/10.
You can disable friendly fire in the menu.

I don't get the "super bad reviews".....at the least this is a 6.5, it's more of a 8 out of 10 for me b/c the combat is so addictive.
Well can't blame them since the game requires massive amounts of powerfully hardware to run. So it is unplayable to some people and a unplayable game deserves a score lower than a 5
it's honestly not a bad game, could be better but all games could so i wont hold it against the game
Like a lot of recent games, these will be sale buys for me. This looks kind of decent, but the particles and too much crap on screen at once is annoying

Good review, focused on combat not bullsh*t story & dialogue crap every other lame reviewer is focusing on. Hint: they invented this nifty new fangled thing called a "mute button" & "skip cutscene". It's 2023.
I think the dialogue and self-aware humor sounds like it might be so bad it’s good! And the rest of the gameplay looks fun enough. And those graphics are gorgeous. I’m 100% buying this when it goes on Black Friday sale next holiday season.

@@PaulRockey Ya that's a smart idea. I just can't stand people who instantly write games off that they have never even played. They listen to any reviewer and base their ultimate verdict on that. Total sheep mentality that I really despise.
@@scaryhours2220 well if you are going to play you better gave a nasa computer because those graphics aren't cheap. Ibuave a 3080 and it still doesn't run at full speed and the graphics don't look like in the trailer. Call me a sheep or what ever but honestly this game is bad so I think I might get a refun
When Forspoken said "It's forspoken time!" and then continued to forspoke all over those guys. Gave me chills. Truly one of the most cut scenes in video game history.

The timing of this game’s release is unfortunate. Right after GoWR and right before Hogwart’s Legacy.

For some reason this game just makes people feel the need to announce to the world that they are dissatisfied even though they haven't played it. They mostly say it's "the dialogue." There are of tons of great games with bad dialogue. People are weird and sheep
Yeah because the games is terrible. Plus can you really trust this guy who was paid by the devs of the game

@@HARLEM-NEWYORK Oh I bought the game since I was pretty hype for it I didn't played the demo but I probably should of since it would of save me 70$ which after play it is not worth it. I have a 3060 and I am have constant performance issues that makes the gameplay feel unsatisfying. The combat and magic system is cool and all bit I can help feel there is a big delay between button presses. It makes it feel almost unresponsive. Also the games graphic is no where as near as good as in the trailers. Yes a lot of people complain about the dialogue but it is cringy and it genuinely takes you out of the experience . The main character is very unlike able since she has all this magical powers but feel the necessity to hate everything without reason. Also the voice acting is horrible which adds to the already terrible dialogue.
Also I don't understand how you find me strange. Me and you are not so different since we both feel the need to voice our opinions. Even if someone hasn't play a game it doesn't necessarily devalues thier opinion. You can say people are are wierd and sheep but you are also a sheep since you are part of those who can't take criticism for a game you enjoy but other don't.
@@redgloves9159 Well good at least you've played it, then your entitled to your opinion. My problem is most people are criticizing it even though haven't even played it. I've never seen that happen for any other game. It's almost like people want to see forspoken fail for some reason. I personally have never said a game sucks if I haven't played it. People that do that are weird and sheep
