I got an acer nitro 5 with an Rtx 2060 and i5 9th and 16 gb ram, the only problem is I don’t use it, I don’t have time to sit on a desk. And play let alone after work. I just ordered the LLG and it comes on Friday. I think i will have much time gaming again. Plus im selling the laptop cuz I don’t use it anymore, and the LLG will be a windows tablet too.
Legion go is a lot of fun. I been using my steam deck more only cuz windows a pain, no fault of the legion. I’m gonna try to start using it more I saw they dropped a new update to make some improvements.
I'm in your boat. Got a gaming laptop 3050 i5 8gb ram (I don't do high graphical gaming on pc) but I dont use it. I got my ps5 for heavy gaming. I Got my LLG 3 days ago and I find that I can game with my limited time and works with gamepass
I got all 3 mainstream handheld PC devices. By far Legion Go cost me less open-box at Best Buy a few weeks ago online. For $520 including tax got another 60 taken off due to coming without a charger. I have put the Rog Ally down the screen on the GO is perfect I do miss the VRR that the Rog Ally has but, having a bigger screen can't compare it's perfect for me. It's getting better and, with each update, since there is an FSR 3.0 mod floating around once it's perfected these handheld PCs are going to be even more awesome.
The problem with those sub 1k gaming laptops is the screens tend to really suck. Poor color reproduction, low brightness 250 nits etc. Manfacturers do it to save on costs. The screen on the legion go is much better.
Both are for gaming and yet both are so different, I love that. If you wanna game at a Lan with friends a laptop these days will do well, however you'd be best of with a table to put your laptop and mouse on, while handheld are so incredibly well self contained. Their smaller screens also serve as an advantage for battery life. Fun video!
I still feel like laptops are way better. A Gigabyte G5 (i5-12500H + RTX 4060) is around €799 on sale and it's a very thin and light gaming machine. Slap a €70 DualSense or Series 2 Core and for around €880 you get a monstruous performance over the LLGo while still maintaing the ergonomics of a sleek controller. Some people will call out that the LLGo or any other handheld PC is more portable but I'd argue against that. Yes while carry cases do exist the people I know who own a handheld usually take theirs on their respective case AND in a backpack. If you gonna carry a backpack why not take a laptop instead? :D

When it comes to Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, the Ally is the one I take everywhere with me due to size, weight, and quick sign-in via fingerprint whereas the Legion Go is my at home gaming handheld with slightly longer battery life and beautiful screen. As much as I like the Ally, I find myself carrying the Asus ROG Flow Z13 Acronym edition more than the Ally (have two more weeks before returning the Ally). Both handhelds have their pros and cons and both are still at its infancy. I cannot wait to see where the next generation will take us. 😊

HP Legion Victus Go 😉 I work security overnight and have both a laptop and a Go. I’m loving the Go, even though windows is finicky with touch and a small screen it’s amazing. In your shoes, if I could only game on lunch and wanted a quick game, I’d go do the Go as a laptop is slightly more cumbersome and not as compact. As well you don’t want to sit at a desk at home after work, a laptop obviously gets warmer on the legs. I set this little guy aside and use a controller, 3D printed V looking middle connection to make it into a full detached controller or use a dual sense. It’s nice having that victus power though and larger screen less finicky windows. Hence why I’m undecided between my Asus TuF A16 or my LLGo Hopefully you know your laptops and the Victus doesn’t have a 50 at the end of the card name I’ve played every high end game on this I can think of, literally anywhere in my city and the country, home, work and friends place or car use on wifi and on 5G. It holds up without lag and graphics are wild. But yet I still feel overkill enjoyment after switching to my laptop. Sorry it was a long read. No worries if you didn’t 😅 Let us know what you decided!
This was one of the best comparisons. Could you please make a video on CS2 performance when the legion go is connected to an external monitor, keyboard & mouse setup. If this is anywhere close to 120fps or above, it would be a great buy. Thank you and happy new year.
These budget laptops are not the best laptops to play on the go. Of course a super thin laptop would cost about twice as much as a Go but if cash is not a problem as in my case I would much much rather have a Zenbook S13 OLED with the 7840U than a Ally or Legion Go. A much better and bigger screen. Bigger battery, 32 GB of ram, light . There is good reason most portable handhelds run on either Lunix or Android as Windows sucks from a handheld. The main advantage these handhelds have over a super thin laptop is the price. Everything else favors the laptop for PC gaming especially running on Windows.
Hi everyone. Currently I own a Lenovo Legion 5 (Model 2021, serial 17ACH6H, 16 gb ram, 3060 rtx, etc). I used it for design: digital illustration, video editing, illustrator, etc, and ocasionally for gaming...At this moment the laptop still functioning very well, nice temps, not so much noisy, good performance overall... It would be worth to sell it for getting the Legion Go for the same stuff? I know that I would need a separate screen for this.
If I was looking for a laptop I’ll buy one if I want portable gaming I’ll get a legion go but I do think you’re right that portable gaming is going to be the future.
What I can build in a desktop for $900 will consistently outperform a $900 laptop, which in turn will outperform a $900 handheld device. The primary reason for this hierarchy is power consumption. Desktops can operate with power ranging from 500W to 1000W, with 500W being on the lower end. Laptops typically consume around 100W, while handheld devices, even on their best days, only reach up to 40W in power consumption. Please note that these price comparisons are based on EU prices, which include taxes. Specifically, I'm referring to the Legion Go and the ROG Ally models in this price range.
Sure, but that's not the point if handheld PCs. I have a gaming laptop that draws 330 watt, and I almost cut the tine I spent using it in half, ever since I got the steamdeck and then the Ally. Now, since I bought the Go, I have not even turned it on once. Like he's saying in the vid, these devices are the future of mobile pc gaming, not laptops.
I love the Legion go it's a great machine I definately prefer it over a laptop , arm on pc i would prefer not, I get the possabilties but the one hallmark of pc's is it's campatibility with older software, changing to a new cpu platform would make that more difficult
the sheer utility of llgo or most pc hanheld trumps a lot of laptops (especially since llgo can become a tablet+can have a egpu too bad it only comes with 16gb)
@@JR-lv3xg that one is 750. I guess 750 plus tax could make it 800 but then the $600 laptop is more like $650. It's odd framing that makes it look like the go is a full $200 more expensive when it really isn't.
Considering it's a mobile 1060 it's definitely faster. Had it been a desktop it would have been a different case. The one scenario where you would likely have better performance on your laptop would be memory limited scenarios. Because the 780M uses system memory and you have to allocate a certain amount to it in bios that means that your windows effectively is limited to 13 GB at most. So if you run into a memory capacity based bottleneck then sure. But then again the memory type is a LOT faster especially on the legion go at 7500 MT/s whereas at least the model of Helios 300 I was able to find with that combination of CPU and GPU is running at 2666 MT/s.
In terms of performance and how worth they are , here is how I would rank devices: Gaming PC > Gaming laptop > Gaming PC handheld > console > gaming smartphone
I would definitely NOT want ARM to take over. If that happens you can basically say goodbye to backwards compatibility with any old game where you don't emulate the hardware. I can play most of my favourite games including Thief 1 and 2, Deus Ex, Unreal, Colin McRae Rally etc. on my current PC. If you can get some source port projects going then sure. But using the original binaries then it's a big no. Apple have never cared about backwards compatibility and hence the change from Intel x86 based CPUs to ARM was pretty much a no brainer. They consider both hardware and software as disposable. With x86 at least the software doesn't have to be.
80 frames rate VS 100 fame rates. 20 fps different and matter to the size. And it has more resolution options than a laptop. You can get gpu with a graphic card or deck it so many ways to play
I dont really care about graphics that much. I haven’t played much games since PlayStation 3. As long as the handheld can reach 30fps on majority of games with 1080p I could care less if laptop is slightly more powerful
Other than screen size, Legion Go works great for both gaming and standard computer work. I just hate how the controllers keep disconnecting and the touchscreen isn't that great.
The biggest difference here is you can sit in public with a handheld playing games and you don’t look weird, but you sit there in public on a laptop playing games? Mouse and keyboard? Definitely look weird.
@@fluxx7217 me? i took a lot of time i've some spare time from an appointment to another, so i just sit somewhere and play (i've a legion 5 with 4800h rtx 2060 and also a legion go) its more comfortable playing on legion go. also since beside the "AAA game" i play a lot of indie and emulator so its really comfortable
theyre both computers theyre meant to play and use for work. the amount of people would notice you doing excel sheets for work using mouse on cafe vs gaming on laptop with mouse on cafe area would be irrelevant. people doesnt really care if you game on cafe unless you are being loud. so the point is it was never weird to play games in cafe or outdoors causw nobody cares and nobody thought it was weird until theyre really gonna look what you are doing. its actually weird if strangers wants to see what you are doing regardless of playing or working.
a gaming laptop is better in every way. just buy one with an rtx 4060 or 4070 there are budget options that's decently priced like the msi alpha 17 c7v the cpu on it is also nuts
The Lenovo Legion Go is 700$ not 800$. There isn’t even a 800$ version with the most expensive version being 750$ which is an extra 500GB that’s it so idk we’re he got 800$. That’s just blatantly false.
"wish it was powered by an arm chip" ... Uh what? No PC games work on arm, they are built on x84 architecture. You would literally not be able to play any games on your gaming laptop and handhelda. Why would you wish that?
Could just be where im located, but around $600 for that laptop sounds like such a ripoff. If you go used, there are 3070 laptops for just $100 more around here, as well as 4070 laptops for under $1000.
First you say, 'I'm not keeping both systems much longer'. And later you ask us 'which system do I need to keep'? Sounds a bit strange, don't you think?
Dude he just meant he's not keeping both, insinuating he will only have one after said time of "much longer" has elapsed and was asking for input on which of the "both" systems he should keep.

Keep the go, it's as powerful as a laptop on behalf of the size that's impressive. Hand-held it will phase out the gaming laptops.
what about 800p?
The legion go costs $700 how'd you end up up paying 800?
He got the one with more memory
@@JR-lv3xg that one is 750. I guess 750 plus tax could make it 800 but then the $600 laptop is more like $650. It's odd framing that makes it look like the go is a full $200 more expensive when it really isn't.
how about valorant? is it goes well tho?
Is legion go or rog ally perfoms better than my acer predator helios 300 gtx 1060 6b , i7-8750h 16gb?
Ofcourse
Is that a backlight bleed on the left side of the laptop's screen?
In terms of performance and how worth they are , here is how I would rank devices:
Gaming PC > Gaming laptop > Gaming PC handheld > console > gaming smartphone
What specs on your laptop hp victus?
But that ARM chip is not very compatible with games
80 frames rate VS 100 fame rates. 20 fps different and matter to the size. And it has more resolution options than a laptop. You can get gpu with a graphic card or deck it so many ways to play
I dont really care about graphics that much. I haven’t played much games since PlayStation 3. As long as the handheld can reach 30fps on majority of games with 1080p I could care less if laptop is slightly more powerful
Anyone knows what razer mouse he is using?
The legion go costs in Germany the same 800€ and I bought mine for just under 600 too so there is no price difference
Who tf plays while sitting in a park or a cafe ?
@@fluxx7217 me? i took a lot of time i've some spare time from an appointment to another, so i just sit somewhere and play (i've a legion 5 with 4800h rtx 2060 and also a legion go) its more comfortable playing on legion go.
also since beside the "AAA game" i play a lot of indie and emulator so its really comfortable
@@fluxx7217😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂@@fluxx7217
theyre both computers theyre meant to play and use for work. the amount of people would notice you doing excel sheets for work using mouse on cafe vs gaming on laptop with mouse on cafe area would be irrelevant. people doesnt really care if you game on cafe unless you are being loud. so the point is it was never weird to play games in cafe or outdoors causw nobody cares and nobody thought it was weird until theyre really gonna look what you are doing. its actually weird if strangers wants to see what you are doing regardless of playing or working.
a gaming laptop is better in every way. just buy one with an rtx 4060 or 4070 there are budget options that's decently priced like the msi alpha 17 c7v the cpu on it is also nuts
Can you play steam on the laptop?
Great video! Would you mind trying Call of Duty Warzone when you get the chance please?
The Lenovo Legion Go is 700$ not 800$. There isn’t even a 800$ version with the most expensive version being 750$ which is an extra 500GB that’s it so idk we’re he got 800$.
That’s just blatantly false.
It is still extremely expensive
"wish it was powered by an arm chip" ... Uh what? No PC games work on arm, they are built on x84 architecture. You would literally not be able to play any games on your gaming laptop and handhelda.
Why would you wish that?
In just bought this it’s pretty sweet but the joysticks are kinda a killer for me not very good imo other than that it’s fantastic
Could just be where im located, but around $600 for that laptop sounds like such a ripoff. If you go used, there are 3070 laptops for just $100 more around here, as well as 4070 laptops for under $1000.
So 3d Marka shows that GPU is a 600 $ laptop is still about 40 % more powerfull than a Legion Go fo 800 $ ...
Do
You really need than 60FPS ? I mean on legion go that’s all you really need on a small screen
link for dock u used on legion go
First you say, 'I'm not keeping both systems much longer'. And later you ask us 'which system do I need to keep'? Sounds a bit strange, don't you think?
I meant no sain person needs both systems. A little overkill.
"I'm not keeping both" and "I'm not keeping either" are two entirely different things, OP
Dude he just meant he's not keeping both, insinuating he will only have one after said time of "much longer" has elapsed and was asking for input on which of the "both" systems he should keep.
I mean... if you're looking to do a giveaway for the one you dont keep... I doubt anyone would complain, lol
Wattage is the big difference. So hard to compare
i am getting 15k points in cinebench with rog ally
was cool vid until u started using 3dmark estimated fps to compare 💀💀💀
Tus calculos de la legion go vs laptop, carese de evaluaciones serteras, lenovo go tiene el doble de capacidad en procesador y tecnologías actuales, que la laptop no tiene, sin discutir más, la portavilidada es lo q se valora en la legion go
Can you please give me the hp victus laptop 🙏🏿
Had both the Ally and the LG. Sold both. This devices are not there yet, in my opinion. They both feel like first gen products. Laptops are just better in every way, excluding size and weight of course.
Are you really comparing laptops vs tiny device 😂
It’s helpful actually. I’m an expat and stuck in this dilemma to which I wanna buy
@@nurddiii of course legion go because not only for games you can do too many things with it
To me, The Lenovo Legion Go is a better product, simply because to use a laptop you have to have a desk or table, which 90% of the time, while gaming on the go, you dont have.
That was such an unnecessary video...like comparing a laptop to a desktop pc...waste of time
You paid too much for 2050 laptop 😆
Intersting
hey not going to shit to much at you but if you are filming B-Rolls, why not clean the items first to give the best possible visual look of them to the viewers? I mean the screen on the lenovo looks like a pidgen shit on it first and smeared everything with its butt.
