- Need to choose between Tomcat and Apache? Wondering what the difference is between the Tomcat Application Server and the Apache Web Server (AWS)? In this quick tutorial, we'll compare Apache vs Tomcat, show you the differences between Apache Tomcat and the Apache Web Server, and provide insight and advice on how to choose between the two.
You have just demystified this topic so clearly and concise. Thanks Cameron.
Thank you! It was hard to find a video that explains it this clearly. It was a relief watching this and now being able to understand!
A simple explanation.
Was expecting a little explanation on Application server as well at the end :)
thank you
Beautifully explained, Thank you.
best explanation I could find ty.
very helpful and straightforward. many thanks for that.
Excellent exposure. Clean and precise, as a surgeon´s scalpel. Great job ! One question: if Tomcat is able to deliver requests all by itself, what is the three tier architecture useful for ?
Thanks for the great explanation
Great explanation
Great explanation. Thank you!
Thanks so much! I'm trying to keep my videos as short and to the point as possible. Tomcat vs Apache is a tough one to keep brief, though!
Thank you for this
Thanks for clarifying
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the great explanation. A question: can Tomcat serve HTTP requests by itself? Does it really need another (Apache) HTTP server or can it run independently?
Yup. It can. Not as efficiently as a pure file server, but it can. Images, html, audio, etc are all fair game. Just put it in the 'webapps' folder or subfolder, and it's addressable over the web.
thankyou
I think what you said that Apache Tomcat would do, might be the work of backend language(like communicating with the database..) then what is exact use of Apache Tomcat.I have one more doubt that Apache Tomcat is used to process the websites which are made using Java or any language
Could you please improve your mic. It hurts ears to listen to your pronunciations. You will understand of you hear that using headphones
I agree. I upgraded to a professional mic shortly after recording this one.
