The 919 Evo broke several lap records in real life; it beat the F1 lap record by 6 seconds around Spa and beat the lap record around the Nurburgring by almost *an entire minute*.
@@MI-zr9pt It is a 919 directly, just with the restrictions taken off and a few aero upgrades that are illegal in LMP1 - fuel flow restrictions to the engine were removed, the limits on the battery and ERS systems were removed, and they saved weight by removing the headlights, windshield wipers, air conditioning and other electrical devices required by the LMP ruleset. They also fitted it with a DRS system and larger wings to give it more downforce. Other than that, it is still a 919. All LMP1 cars are massively restricted because to get a racecar to survive a 24hr race, you need to build it well above spec and then detune it so it's reliable for the whole 24hrs. By contrast, F1 cars don't need to last 24hrs, instead they need to last for around 4 hours every week or two and even then they can have replacement parts. Providing the F1 teams stick to the same idea that the 919 Evo has in the sense that it's literally the same car with the restrictions removed, I really don't think F1 cars would be that much faster since they're already running close to capacity. Maybe with a few aero modifications that would be illegal, sure, but idk about getting 6 seconds at Spa without turning the engine up so much that it grenades itself in a few laps (just like the old days!)
Yes it can, in fact it "destroys" the 2022 car, the only two F1 cars that come close to the 919 evo tribute's pace are the W11, which is a bit quicker, 0.5s quicker around Spa to be exact. And the RB16 which was the 2nd fastest car in 2020
@@bernardoberner4 keep in mind that's with one of the best drivers in the world pushing as hard as humanly possible. Put an AI in them and run each and it'll be more of an even test, even with the same driver it might not be the same lap to lap.

The 919 Evo would definitely clap any F1 cars those equal conditions. Unrestricted F1 is not even a debate, it would obliterate anything that uses tyres.

The 919 irl is also not restricted by DRS zones, they had it open pretty much everywhere at spa that wasn't a corner, and they also had it open through Eau Rouge and Raidillon, but lifted slightly, wasn't quite flat out but it was faster than no DRS flat out
Evo definitely has the top speed advantage, but the F1 has the aero advantage. Would be interesting to see what an F1 could do with similar unregulated modifications like the fuel flow, hybrid deployment, and whatnot. Definitely wouldn't gain as much over its race version like the Evo did since the Evo had a lot of weight reduction (headlights, A/C, etc) that the F1 already doesn't have as well as the addition of DRS that F1 already has (although the F1 would gain a lot from unregulated deployment), but would definitely gain enough to be faster than the Evo around Spa I believe.
The thing is, F1 was faster around Spa with the regulation cars. A drivers Q2 time was faster than the 919 Evo. I believe it was Sebastian Vettel with his SF-71H.
@Hakan KÖKSAL Remember that the 919 Evo wasn't being pushed to its limits. It was in a tribute tour and running a few laps at different tracks. That versus qualifying during a full race weekend. If both were being pushed to the limits, the 919 would undoubtedly be faster. However, give the F1 the same modifications to the fuel flow and ability to use DRS anywhere and then it would be well faster.

The AI in assetto corsa doesn't understand certain corners with high downforce cars. The RSS 2022 F1 can easily take Pouhon and Copse flat. But the AI doesn't know that.

Neither car used DRS here (If both would've used it it would've benefited the 919 as it was punching a hole in the air for F1 the entire lap, DRS for 919 = less drag + smaller "hole" for the F1". You're right, the 919 is unrestricted but the base car is a prototype which is more restricted than an F1 (Has narrower tyres, headlights, a roof, the cockpit has room for two seats...) The 919s engine makes around 600hp while the F1 makes alsmost 900hp. Both cars are equally impressive and it's fascinating they are these close even though they are incredibly different. It will be very nteresting how they stack up in a couple years

It's not 'almost a no rule LMP1 car' They didn't do many modifications - they only removed fuel flow and energy usage restrictions, removed headlights, A/C, windshield wiper, added a new wing with DRS and that's it. It's an LMP1 car with a couple of mods, but not massive ones.
