There is no "sacrifice" when you are dealing with people who do not care if they die, only if they win. They talk like Kriegsman just want to suicide... Not quite. They want to win more than they want to live.
For some reason, when I heard Arch say that Tyborc came out still clutching the flamer, all I could think of was Tyborc saying "This is mine now. It kept us alive, and killed many traitors, so it is mine now."
A more well earned battle trophy there isn't. I would have given him more ammo for it were I his commander.

No such constructive criticism for the remaining illustrations though. The panning tells it's story clearly and the artwork is grotesquely beautiful. It's straight out of it's WW1 trench inspiration.
P.S. That wire-cutter melee scene made me flinch like hell! ow!!
The super thick outlines for that one threw me off, but the bloom effects were amazing.

I’m watching these Vrax videos, gaining an ever-firmer grasp of the Death Korps’ character, and suddenly an idea appears in my brain:
If through some kind of warp shenanigans a regiment of Death Korps guardsmen got to fight alongside some pre-heresy Deathguard, I bet they’d be the best of battle-buddies. Even an Astartes of the Deathguard should admire the Death Korps’ utter tenacity; them Krieg boys have the stiffest of stiff upper lips.

I’ve been coming back to this series maybe once a year since it’s been out, and the krieg engineer (or infantrymen I could be mistaken) running the vraks defender through with the wire cutters always gets me smirking thinking: “those damn kriegsmen just having a grand ol’ time”

So real talk, as I was just considering this in my own head to great length.
WOULD YOU RATHER
Be in the opening waves of ANY war in a WH40K setting, or would you rather be in the ending years of any war?
I mean, either way you're going to die most likely, but still, i'm curious.
I'm torn, because dying at the opening makes it feel lesser, because you can't even see how things would go, but to be around near the end, you'd have seen some SERIOUS shit. I mean, this war was CLEARLY a mess, based on 42 video's worth of content.
Again, the chances you die are Astronomical, but i'm curious.
Given the scenario we’d find ourselves in, I’d go for the swift route - at the very least, you can hold onto the idea that you were “paving the way”, “the very tip of the spear” or whatever other figure of speech you can come up with as the life slowly seeps out of your shredded body out in no-mans-land. Additionally, there’s less risk of meeting one’s end by mundane means (e.g. dysentery; I seriously doubt that croaking in some latrine counts as “sacrificing for the Emperor”).
Consider an even scarier prospect:
Imagine you would - by some insane miracle - enter a conflict like the Siege of Vraks and lived through it:
You’d have seen death, destruction and incompetence on a scale that’s beyond the human mind, fought against denizens of the warp, god machines and traitor astartes ... and all that you get from is envying your fallen brothers for having achieved their purpose, as you get packed up and shipped off to try dying again somewhere else (unless some Inquisitor has you lined up and incinerated for being a liability, that is).
On a less dour note; I can imagine a story about the most unlucky Krieg guardsman of the entire Imperium - one that somehow keeps surviving, despite trying his best not to. A Krieg Slayer, if you will.

The Red Shirts strike...although I'm guessing that some of the artwork is for events that come later on in the siege. (the eight-point star is a giveaway) | 20:00 - Yeah, they aren't Mordian Iron Guard, they lack the discipline to not fall apart under those circumstances. | 30:30 - So the opposite attitude to weapons as your average Ork Shoota Boy...then they made do with what they had.
13:50 the right backpack is a happy easter Island head - I cant unsee it now.

Absolutely loving these videos on the Death Korps. I've been on and off keeping up with your videos for a few years I think now Arch but, haha, definitely gonna subscribe finally to keep up to date on the adventures of Krieg. The artwork and transfer from one picture and scale to the next to the next just in these early parts I'm only 8 mins in and I'm so impressed. Goddamn you know how to work it and I don't give a hoot or a holler about if you drew those your or had it all commissioned or even payed someone else to make the whole "visual" aspect and all u do is just talk and make the money. i have no idea but i'm gonna guess you enjoy doing more than JUST narrating. Bombardment rarely destroys barb wire, it’s not like a fence, they are like massive bushes and near walls. Bombardment sometimes made it much worse...

Thats kind of the point. Vraks, especially early on, is basically lifted directly from WW1. Like the initial assault's in lore description is the Battle of Somme given a 40k makeover, complete with walking in lines shoulder to shoulder against suppossedly destroyed defenses that, shock, are fully operational
Only two of the forts in Verdun were destroyed.
There were a few dozen more that held the line.
Well, after seeing the Wolf's Corner videos on Vraks, this offers a nice perspective on the whole grindfest ! Keep it up, Inquisitor ! :)

If the anti orbital defences in Vraks are as strong as they are described then the AA will be downright suicidal to fly into even by Krige standards

So it boils down to an army with infinite ammo vs an army with infinite respawns.
Neither categorisation is anything more than referential, and technically the imperial side has as much ammo as an entire galaxy vs one planet, but it seems someone wanted an army with infinite manpower to fight an army with infinite warpower
