As someone who has gone from running CNC machines (mills and lathes primarily), to set ups, to programming, to process engineering, to manufacturing engineering manager, to ME Manager and Production Manager of a CNC Machine shop over the last 12 years, and has built handmade custom guitars for about 25 years, it is frustrating to see the issues you described in good detail. What's really the most frustrating is that with use of the correct tooling, with a proper grind and edge prep, a good material, reasonably rigid fixturing, and utilizing the proper tech data (speed, feed, depth of cut) appropriate for the operations in that specific material, NONE of those issues should happen. On occasion a random funky grain will give you a chip out, in which case a professional, or just someone who takes even moderate pride in their work, dare I say craftsmanship, will FIX IT! There are too many ways to remedy these issues to list. Make a decision, and make it right. I wouldn't give one of my builds to a friend for free with those issues, ever. Disappointing. I'll be honest, Legator has gotten waaay better recently, pre-2020 models still had noticeable issues and qc problems. Idk what they did. @@F0XxX98 Well, Legator is really solid for EX guitars and I know they're getting alot better, They just put up their New 2022 Ghost series, which I suppose is the same as the Ghost series already, just better and updated. Maybe better and guaranteed good quality.

I literally experienced the same first experience you had with Legator. It was a marked down ninja that was supposed to be new but looked like it had been HEAVILY played. That was about 2 years ago (2018). I just bought another of their marked down guitars and I’m waiting on it to arrive. Your video has inspired me to do a comparison of the two to show how far (or not) Legator has come. I’ll be looking at an Ormsby next thanks to your review!
Connor MacLeod So ended up receiving an email from them saying that the one I ordered (and was shipped) was actually out of stock and they could instead upgrade me to the 8 string version. I don’t personally like 8 string guitars, so I told them I’d rather just have a refund. I then get an email the next day that said they found an extra one like the one I ordered and we’re going to ship it. I didn’t like the idea that they “found one” so I insisted that they just cancel the order and refund my money. I can safely say that I won’t order another Legator of any price range.
Some constructive criticism: Have your guitar player play them next time. These are modern shred machines. I knew the legator would have issues cause 99% of them do but you said it played well and with such great pickups as fishman moderns I was actually really curious to hear how it sounds when you're ripping some cool licks and stuff on it and I didnt get any of that. I appreciate what you're trying to do. Keep making videos. Also when you say the ormsby had parts that had no issues you didnt show close ups. I trust that you're not lying but you did close ups on all the legator hardware etc and that would be nice to have seen closeups of the same areas of both guitars back to back. Good luck with your channel!
@Bo Brantley Not only does it play great, but it Feels great! The way the neck is shaped makes so much sence. Playing rythme and switching to lead is a breeze. The low range is pronounced unlike any 7 or 8 string ive played. Came in the mail about 5 days from coast to coast. Plus they offer free returns, no questions asked if for some astronomical reason you dont like it.
@Bo Brantley straight from them. Also got a locking strap and a few packs of their strings. I dont think you need those strings specifically, but i have a Cort Stienberger and it was a bitch finding those so i took a precaution myself

I was like ehhh all of those issues on the legator aren't awful, but for $2100??? Are you kidding??? How could an instrument of that price have any flaws? I've seen lower end squires with less defects. Insane.

The noise seemed to be mostly from the middle and neck position. The ormsby has a single coil in the neck and every single coil in the world is going to have noise unless its stacked or something like that.
LMFAO so this dude is crying about Legator themselves being responsible for the defects of their guitars that were built over seas. Maybe he does not understand how manufacturing works. If you are unable, for whatever reason, to make what you sell in house, you source to those who specialize in this. South Korea is a good option most of the time due to lower cost of labor. They make great guitars for ESP/LTD and some Ibanez. I know Legator has had issues with some manufacturers, possibly this guitar being from one of those factories, in the past but from what ive heard they have changed manufacturer as well as management. I just bought a brand new Ghost G7FP and will update this once i get my hands on it.
Bro you're coping so hard. Fishmans are great, I own 4 sets of them I've bought and installed aftermarket, but Ormsby Pups are amazing. They got me to come back to passives. He just has one set here. They make many pups. The Blizzard are amazing. The Katana have nothing but HEAVY CRUSHING TOAN

The noise seemed to be mostly from the middle and neck position. The ormsby has a single coil in the neck and every single coil in the world is going to have noise unless its stacked or something like that.
Andromeda told me I’m not allowed to listen to your band.
Legator N8FX Rules!
The new Legator's bridge looks very odd. I dont know if I would trust it to hold up over time.
seems like a cool idea but i feel that QC concern
Ain’t no “slight” difference between the pups on these guitars 😂😂😂😂
Soo glad I went with an Ormsby over Legator.
The Br0wn Note Metal Shows I did the opposite 😭 send hugs please
I have a G8FS and a N8FP both amazing guitars!
hows the ghost
How was the Ghost?
I think he was just talking shit lol
I'll stick with my cort
Were you able to get a refund from Legator ?
But I WANNA BELIEVE :(
def not buying a legator now....thanks...almost wasted $
Legator are badass guitar, rethink your decision??
Legator kills with the Fishman, Ormsby noisy and lacking in Crush.
Depends on the pickups, the blizzards have more output than active emg pickups so they're very hot
I think the Fishman's sound better.
Legator are so overpriced
😂
Yowsa.
You know how an Aristides sounds good with just about any pickup in it? Legator sounds like trash no matter what pickups are in it.
Well the legator sure sounds better ....
Guitars coming from overseas just do not have the same quality
There are some great guitars coming from overseas, Legator's guitars just aren't them.
@@Just-Michael The art of a real hand crafted instrument is near but extinct These guitars are not that Fancy wood shiny paint in stainless steel frets doesn't make it incredible
@@joethompson61 Oh yeah because Gibson's are absolutely 100% perfect.
@@Just-Michael Who said anything about Gibson Turn not go on with the obvious choice Everyone already knows Gibson is shipped you just said the equivalent of your face
@@joethompson61 Okay so then you disproved your own point. Not all hand-made guitars in America are good. :P
that legator look really bad
Legator is trash, so, easy. I fell for Legators scam too man. It was terrible... and their customer service is fucking terrible.
Must be why they have such a huge following 😂
Legator rules this just sounds like a bunch of crap
I have one; the build quality was flawless; the electronics were fucking garbage. Gutted it and replaced it. They had uneven P90 screws in place holding humbuckers (which were also garbage) a cheap input jack and 3 way switch, and South Korean pots. All for a “made in the USA” guitar
My first legator was an absolute piece of garbage, I just got my G8FP today and it's amazing. Legator has gotten a lot better but they do have issues.
