A wonderland indeed! How long did it take before your Welwitschia started making strobilus ? I was under the impression Welwitschia was truly Monotypic existing in its own lonely Order, Family, Genus and Species. I didn't know there were other species? What were the ones you mentioned? I have some that are a few years old I can't wait till mine start putting out cones.
A pity a better camera isn't used, unless standing still and focusing in, its very blurry, much of the amazing garden is in consequence not really appreciated.
Uncarinas and I have a love/hate relationship. While they look beautiful, the seed pods are horrendous -- sharp with recurved spines! They never break down, hide in my mulch waiting to attack, and pile up in the center of my cycads!
Hey Thanks just discovered your channel and as I find great pleasure in arid plants it will be a joy to watch. A visit would be beautiful but being bed bound in England that's my choice. Take Care Ian
All my favorite plants in one place. There is a giant ( about 7’) Uncarina at my workplace that I admire daily

I’ll check with Jeff. I believe he was saying there are only a few other species that are Gnetophytes. That’s a division of plants.
@@AloesInWonderland Ahh ok I must have missed that part, thanks for clarifying. That makes much more sense.

You pass alot of plants that catch my eye but I guess you can't stop at every plant
Rub your fingers on the Uncarina leaves, they smell nice kinda like chocolate to me 🌵
I’ll try to remember that. If I do will check it out during our next video!
