Yeah I asked that from them and a little re-interpretation of a happier ending for the two in their character voices but they weren't comfortable reenacting scenes from The 100 they said! I saw in Eliza's recent IG video that she spoke in her Clarke voice and in one of Bob's cameo he honored someone's request to say "Bellarke is endgame" in Bellamy's voice

There were so any beautiful accents with the actors on this show. I wonder why there was the decision for everyone (even the ones of other lands on earth) all speaking the same. I can understand a universal language with the circumstances on a ship and all, but I wonder why no accents, or does that naturally happen all the time? I am southern US, so its not that I am truly missing my accent, but didn't even the people with a southern US accent have to give it up/ I am not judging, just curious and wondered if there is science behind it. It seems like naturally, probably 80% of the cast didn't speak basic, non accent north American (non accent, lol, I guess everyone has an accent to someone, but hopefully someone can get me and explain). I only wonder because I love accents, and I get really curious about chices- like wondering if there was a good reason behind it or if it was just done that way. Not tried to get anyone fired up or upset. Just my curious brain. Love and miss you guys, if any of you see this, and totally miss the show. I tried to get into the books, but watching the show made it hard and I only got thru 2 1/2, but atleast Clarke and Bellamy were together for that.
I'm not American but my guess is since the CW is a North-American network, they wanted everyone to adopt a standard American accent. If you look at other shows produced in other English-speaking countries, like Neighbours in Australia, they usually adopt a standard local accent because that's what the audience is used to and it's less distracting that way. I think there are also other reasons why they just couldn't let the actors keep their own accents. Consistency regarding the storytelling is probably one of them - for example, Marie has an American accent and Bob has an Australian accent, but they play siblings, so it would be weird if they had different accents on the show. American audiences are also not used to hearing foreign accents on their networks, so when a character does have a foreign accent, it's usually on purpose. Otherwise it would probably distract the audience from the actors' performances.
@@MagicalMusic15 Possibly. I guess I can wrap my head around that. I loved that there were varying accents on Lost, but I get what you say about it being different circumstances on here. It wouldn't distract me, I love accents (differences), but yes, being brother and sister etc.. would be confusing. I still feel like the different earth regions or tribes, etc, would each have an accent of their own under those circumstances tho. Blessings
