I think only limited has the wire harness for the courtesy lights because mine has them and it's the 4.0 with every option expect the 5.9 engine . I liked how the new speakers just appeared 😂 awesome job Dan 👍

Yea all limiteds have them. Mine definitely does with 5.2.
@@brossovitch how do like the 5.2 is it a good running Jeep ? I've never had one with that engine but had older Mopars with a 318cid and a carburetor but never a Jeep .
@@jaysmith5084 I love it. I absolutely love it. Its very easy to work on, almost everything is accessible for service. Good torque and strong transmission. I've only had it for 1.5yr and it's still rust free. California car with no EGR factory. Also fully optioned.

The courtesy light is a TSi thing as well. Same lenses, and has the harness

Looks awesome Dan! The passenger door module swap out got me good. For 2 days I couldn't start the jeep and was scratching my head thinking what have i blown...Lol 🤦♂️
I have a Laredo and the Courtesy light harness was taped up and tucked behind the inner liner. Plug and play Worked perfect. Have a closer look.

@@ProjectDanH I have a 1995 and a 1997, Like yours, it’s in the passenger door of the 97, but the 95 is in the rear hatch. Found out when replacing power locks with Amazon actuators instead of expensive Jeep ones.
Colorbond #163 is a perfect paint match to refinish. Make sure to clean and use adhesion promoter.

My ZJ 4.0l Limited has the door lights, though I pulled the bulbs out to help save the battery... nice looking doors Dan, love your tips on the heat gun
That's something I never realized... Battery drain! Maybe it's best I didn't find the pigtail!
@@ProjectDanH They don't drain the battery, they only turn on when the doors are opened up. I believe they share the same functionality as the interior/courtesy lights where they come on when you unlock the Jeep and/or open the doors and turn off when you lock the doors or turn the ignition on at least that's how they worked in my 96 ZJ limited.
Of course the Limited versions including 5.9 option had chrome interior door handles. Easy to switch out.

I used orange nail polish on the gear selector on my wj. I am sure you can get new wiring harnesses in your doors to get those puddle lights working or you could wire them into your footwell lights.

Weird my door panel arm rest looks like yours LOL. I keep forgetting to go over to the local pick a parts to see if I can get one without the cracked and torn arm rest.
I didn't realize it would be that easy to install the memory seat/mirror functionality. My passenger door panel is in really good condition, just driver's door arm rest is terrible, so I'll have to wait till I can find a matching panel...I should have grabbed the ones I found last year that were in excellent condition from an exact configured ZJ didn't even think about it at the time ugg.
Oh man! They're so hard to find without the rips. Stay tuned for a memory function video... There's a couple things that are overlooked
Just a heads up if you're adding that memory module on the door to your existing power seats, or are adding power seats and that memory module on the door. That module likes to go haywire and readjust the seats and mirrors at random while unlocking the doors. Some people have repaired it by cleaning various connectors, but I actually just went ahead and disconnected mine behind the door panel. It doesn't affect anything else's operation.

Yeah the memory function in my 96 ZJ never worked right, luckily the 98 ZJ I have now doesn't have that. My 98 ZJ is the Laredo SE so pretty much the limited edition without being a limited edition so luckily they skipped the memory function, it drove me nuts in my old ZJ.

@@ProjectDanH thanks Dan! I just bought the beryl bevel and trim accroas the dash and and glove box. Also got the 9er grill and leather handle for shifter transfer and e brake also hood vents. Not sure how to install on all that!

I have problem with my ZJ's mirror memory that is completely lost. Mirrors set completely wrong each time I start the vehicle. Do you know if it's a common issue? Thanks.
Hey thank you for the Sub! I really appreciate it.. sorry about the movie inserts... Its just something I like to do.
On to your problem, yes it can be fixed. Inside the mirror assembly there are metal prongs that make contact with a little sensor on a computer chip. Over time the contacts wear down or get blocked by dirt and grime. I have a video coming out soon that will show all the details you need to dig in. Thanks again for your views!

Hey FYI the first Vid Will be the restoration of the housing.. the vid I release next week will be the motor and memory function.
I have the 94 ZJ limited it would constantly ding So I unplugged the red ding box and then Keyless entry wouldn’t work and if you hit the emergency button the lights would flash until you get out and turn the passenger door key lock to lock and then unlock. Apologies for the description not sure how to ask the question. So if you’ve heard of this or know how to fix this I greatly appreciate the help.

ding box? 🤣🤣 perhaps your door ajar buttons were too pushed in. maybe take some channel locks and pull em all out to "reset" them. maybe the chime will stop. 🤷♂️

Dan I would like to know how much if u sotting information center for my 1997 tsi 5.2 bad coolant n it's not bad please let me know Sir I see u know how to do it I live in Ga.If not I understand keep up great content n God bless
Its a message regarding the coolant temperature sensor. Its not the sensor on the engine its the one in the coolant reservoir. My 96 ZJ had the same trouble it would say bad coolant temperature sensor...I went as far as to replace the one on the engine as at the time I figured that's the one it was talking about, but it wasn't. I never did fix it, and it only would do it occasionally so I just learned to ignore it on the random occasion it complained LOL.
Hey brother thanks for watching. You should try to solder your information center. It could be a really easy fix. Also maybe the sensor could actually be bad. See if you can try another sensor too
It's your VIC. Not the sensor. There's many videos about cold solder joints in the VIC.

they are the standard Jeep interior screws of the 90s. lol. you can probably find a billion of them at any junkyard 😁

How do you find out if your door have the key fob ability. and how do you install em
just buy a passenger window switch and key fob set on eBay. as soon as you install it the keys should work. 👍🏻
Project Dan H got a question for you . I’m trying to do the Vic upgrade that you did but I can’t figure out why my vic won’t work . Bought it knowing it worked. Solder is good . WhT else should I look for

You should see the harness difference from power seats to power memory seats.
I don't think adding memory function to the seats will be as you think.......
Lol.. they have different motors and different harnesses... I'll get it done 😁

Just wanted to let you know what I found today and you might have already knew this.
1996 GC Limited. My seat was messed up. Driver seat track seized up. Memory but no heated seats.
Went to pick and pull, found a matching heated memory seat so I pulled it along with the heated seat switch pod.
Pulled dash apart and found the pod wiring was all there! Yay, plug and play for the switch.
Pulled my seat out. The 2 wires that come from the floor to the seat are missing on the seat plug.
The good news is all the memory wiring / garbage is BUILT into the seat.
So if you have CCD wires at your seat plug on the floor then theoretically your memory retrofit will plug and play HOWEVER I don't know if you'll need the drivers door module also and or BCM to go with it to make it all work.
I suppose the easiest test to see if the memory features are enabled by default would be to put a memory compatible mirror on and see if you can store the setting or not.

The leather on 3 of my door panels leather is pealing up and it looks like shit can you replace just the leather
yes, you'll have to pop the panel out to do that . a little beutain lighter can melt the plastic welds, you'll just have to re melt the welds back on after you replace the leather

@@ProjectDanH that's gonna be a hard one Dan. In my area there's about 20 jeeps (ZJ's, XJ's, & WJ's combined). And from those only 8 are ZJ's, 6 laredos, 1 limited and 1 orvis.
And the only 5.9 is in a 97 Durango

@@ProjectDanH its a 6 second pour some dawn soap and some hot sink water let her sit for couple minutes wipe it off might have to repeat 2 or 3 times i know for a fact it will bring the rocker and bumper plastics back to life and tit does not seem to fade at all
