IMPORTANT NOTE: This only works with the internal microphone array of your laptop. With an external mike, this solution falls flat. In that case the level meter of your external mike will show audio activity but the level meter of the Stereo Mix item will remain inactive. In any case the best fix for the problem is NOT USING Google Meet an turn to Teams or Zoom instead. Even if you get it running and that is a big if, the audio quality is still abysmal.
