I signed up with a company yesterday got a call today for a job it’s hrs 20 drive for a pay $1400 … it’s like a part time gig and if I can do one a week I’m good. (My gas spent was $176.00 and my portion of the hotel bill $12) came to $1,236.00 at $60 a hr. I do this once a week and keep full time jobs ❤

Be careful and think through the insurance aspect of delivery driving using your own insurance. Example: In 2022 i was in a collision doing a Uber Eats delivery. I was not at fault. I reported to Uber Eats immediately from the ambulance. That was the Last time i heard from Ubereats. The driver that caused the accident was under insured. I had a broken ankle and was out of the delivery driver business due to 4months on the sofa and 4 months of therapy. I had insurance but gig work wasnt covered. I found out the hard way. Not only was I badly injured im still dealing with swollen ankle everyday possibly for the rest of my life. I lost my car because it was totalled and no insurance paid for another vehicle. After a lawyer who took most of the payout i ended up with chump change. Please carry the proper insurance and dont take it lightly.
I cant stand the year requirements for vehicles. Do these companies not realize not all cars are made the same? A 2006 Lexus IS250 runs better than a 2013 nissan maxima lmfao
Great video, so many 'driving as contractor' youtubes don't mention insurance(!) which could bankrupt you if you get in a collision, or the vehicle is broken into, and BTW- don't forget self-employment tax in the USA on any income. LOOK before you leap in is always good advice.
I keep hearing “side hustle”, but if you are working 36 hours a week it is definitely not a side hustle because very few people can work a 40 hour job plus a 36 hour side hustle.

@@tonyd4346 if you still believe the old system works yes ....I'm not against jobs but all I know is I've met NUMEROUS people who have been working for decades just to get fired, It feels like every couple years there's s a group of soon to be retirees who get screwed and have to work another 5 to 10 or so years before actually being able to retire..... Truthfully, I know people making good money right now in my area. I feel the need to take advantage of it and build something cuz at the end of the day my faith in the system of retirement and benefits and pensions is very low. Although I will say if done correctly, you can take advantage of that system to gain a skill and eventually do your own thing. You're right about that, but it's also once again going into business for yourself.
I also wonder if it's possible in a huge city with hella traffic, car accidents & construction. Some of the delivery websites say they guarantee delivery by a certain time, which I don't think is possible in my big city during the day. They probably make the courier take the L in the case of a 7 car pile up that causes the trip to take 3 hours instead of 1. Same if they pay you by the mile & you get caught up in any kind of delay. It costs you. I'm still debating. I was thinking of investing in a sprinter, but it needs to be worth it.
It all comes down to how much effort you want to put in. You’re your boss at that point. It of people want to stay in town. Stay local. Do the easy opportunities. Yeah you are not going to make much. I average 1200-1800 a week with only Lyft. Sometimes more if I do a 7th day. 10-12 hours a day. I drive all over southern Cali. From Los Angeles to San Diego and everything in between. I have the luxury of having no ties holding me back so I can be gone all day.
I did this years ago, it was horrible. I drove from Memphis to Kansas City git paid like 300.00 no freight comi g back. Delivered in the city of Memphis, got paid like 18.00 to deliver 3-4 packages across town, took about 45 minutes. Go work a job making 15.00 an hour and you will make more than tbese driving scam jobs.

im going to say all pharmacy around me share a driver 4 different brands with their labels on the car, they maintain the car together the driver said he gets 20$ an hour or 800 a week why would they pay independent delivery a higher price ?
If this is viable, then I may go for it. I make a little less than 2500 gross per week driving hazmat tanker 18 wheelers and work an average of 55-60 hours a week. It is beginning to not be worth it. I am willing to work 70 hrs a week. I just need a newer vehicle to do this I suppose.

my neighbor is a uber driver. it's extra income. NOT a majority of his income. You are pretty much killing your car if you drive it 10-12 hours a day. Something has to give. He had to buy another car because he felt his personal car was giving up.
Goshares 6:24 want driver to pay 49.00 for backgroung check, other companies dont Its not much but its wrong and i think it may be a scam .Do they just take your 49.00 and then stall you.? I wouldnt trust goshare.
With Uber 15% and Lyft 85% of the times, I can make around 22 an hour, overnight in the Orlando area. Very little traffic. That´s the only reason I still prefer Rideshare over the others. I can´t stand traffic hours anymore. Sometimes, "more money" is not the answer to being comfortable with whatever you´re doing.

The conclusion I came to is that it may be viable for extra cash (I show how much drivers are still making in the vid), but $2500 per week isn’t likely. If you do think it’s completely dead please do elaborate and share your experience as a driver. Reading about the experiences of people who have tried it is one of the best ways for everyone hear to learn.

@@thechosen3332 it’s not a take, it’s a fact, the younger generation doesn’t want to work hard BUT they want to have big money. Back in the day, people drove taxis to supplement their income, now the drivers are usually immigrants to the country who have limited skills and or limited in their language skills. This does not apply to all of these people of course. Currently, I see multiple videos on social media UA-cam about driving/delivering and you can make “ a lot of money”. Your only skill is being able to drive basically and between uber grub hub etc many people have left the job market to do this type of work. You don’t have to have interactions with people like a typical job, these kids are socially retarded because most of their interactions with others is via texting, they don’t know how to have a normal face to face conversation. They don’t know how to handle when someone tells them what to do, they get offended. Trust me, Im a boss and I have to deal with these kids on a daily basis. They have the minds of a 5 year old in a 35 year old body. It’s not just the driving jobs, they are looking for any job that pays them “ millions” with the least amount of effort or responsibility. It’s called a side hustle I believe.

If you're running this as a legit "business" (not a side hustle) ...its a "company" vehicle. It's wear and tear that you can write off.
You can pretty reliably put 500,000 miles on a Toyota Tacoma if you keep up on maintenance.

I tried crosstown courier... they were ok.... but the cost out weighed the money earned.... they didn't pay extra for the excessive gas prices
